How to change engine oil in a Mitsubishi Lancer X engine. Recommended engine oil for Mitsubishi Lancer What oil to fill in a Lancer engine 10

20.11.2019

Mitsubishi lancer 10 – stylish car with a classic sporty design. Despite the outdated design, the model is still in demand. Since most of the owners have a car out of the warranty period, so now the question of the possibility of self service Mitsubishi Lancer. Fortunately, the car is considered quite reliable, as it is made of quality materials. And yet, time takes its toll, and you need to make a replacement at least Supplies... In this article, we will look at one of the most important tasks Mitsubishi service Lancer - how to choose quality engine oil for this vehicle.

The range of engines for the Mitsubishi Lancer is extensive and varied, so it is not surprising that there are many discussions on the forums about the choice suitable liquid for a particular motor. So, the Lancer 10 is equipped with gasoline engines volume of 1.5, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 liters.

Oil type

There are many criteria for choosing an engine oil. And yet, the main ones can be distinguished. For example, there are three types of oil - synthetic, semi-synthetic and mineral. Each type has its own specifics, its own level of viscosity, tolerance, etc. This is a very important topic that affects the entire article. At the same time, no less important and urgent is the question of which oil manufacturer to trust the most. Naturally, in this case it is necessary to pay attention to the temperature parameters for which the liquid should be selected. By ensuring that these parameters on the product label match the parameters in the Lancer X Owner's Manual, you can confidently choose your oil.

First fill oil

This is one initial fact to look out for. The fact is that it is recommended to fill in the oil that was originally filled from the factory. For example, this is a mineral lubricant. This means that in the future, only synthetics need to be poured - even if there is a question of choosing between mineral water and better and more expensive synthetics. In any case, if you have financial capabilities, it is advisable to consider first of all original oil- For example, Mitsubishi Genuine Oil API SM SAE 0W20... This grease is recommended for use in engines in which it was originally filled with synthetic oil... Often this oil is great for 1.5, 1.6 and 1.8 liter engines. As for two-liter engines, a semi-synthetic substance can be advised for owners of such engines. Mitsubishi Genuine Oil API SM SAE 5W30.

Viscosity selection

Viscosity is a key parameter in oil selection, directly dependent on climatic conditions environment, in which the Mitsubishi Lancer X is operated. Note that the post-Soviet countries are characterized by a harsh winter climate, as well as a very hot summer season. Based on this, for example, for subzero temperatures, an oil with such a viscosity should be selected so that it does not freeze under such conditions. To simplify the selection, oil manufacturers have compiled the so-called SAE classification:

  • Viscosity parameters winter oils: SAE 0W, SAE 5W, SAE 10W, SAE 15W, SAE 20W
  • Viscosity parameters summer oils: SAE 30, SAE 40, SAE 50
  • Viscosity parameters of multigrade oils: SAE 5W-40, SAE 5W-30, SAE 10W30, SAE 10W-40, SAE 15W-40, SAE 20W-50.

At the factory, the Mitsubishi Lancer X engine was filled with oil with the appropriate viscosity parameters that are suitable for certain climatic regions. The most popular is considered to be a universal, that is, an all-season liquid. It has a wider range of supported temperatures. But at the same time, another question arises - is it worth buying an all-season vehicle if, according to the operating instructions, the oil in the Mitsubishi Lancer X engine is designed for 7,500 kilometers, or six months. Based on this, many doubt the need to choose an all-season liquid, and therefore buy seasonal oil... There are many opinions about this.

On the positive side, the Lancer X has no viscosity limit. Therefore, you can use any viscosity parameter listed, suitable for certain weather conditions.

Years of release

As for the seasonal liquid, its choice depends on the year of manufacture. vehicle... Let's pay attention to the optimal viscosity parameters for summer and winter, depending on lineup Lancer 10, and also highlight the best brands:

As for mineral oil, this type of lubricant is very rare in Mitsubishi Lancer X engines. The manufacturer fills in synthetics or, in extreme cases, semi-synthetics.

Conclusion

Before buying oil, you need to collect information about the product you like, study its parameters and properties, and compare them with those indicated in the instructions for Lancer X. It should be noted that when high mileage over 100 thousand km should be filled with more thick butter- mineral. This type of lubrication is only appropriate for older vehicles. The fact is that synthetic grease is more fluid and better suited for low temperatures. Or, conversely, a thicker lubricant (mineral, semi-synthetic) is better suited for hot climates.

Oil change video

Owners of Mitsubishi Lancer 10 are actively discussing the issue of replacing engine oil for their cars. On the forums, you can find dozens of disputes and opinions, successful and unsuccessful experiences. But it can be difficult to understand the mass of this information and weed out the grains of truth from the husk, and it will all take a lot of time.

Therefore, in this article we will talk about the procedure for selecting and replacing lubricating fluid Lancer motor. You can do this yourself in garage conditions without contacting the service center.

The tenth Lancer is one of the most common cars in the CIS countries. Emotional and dynamic design combined with technical characteristics and affordable price provide such popularity of the model. However, even among the "dozens" you can find versions with different engines... Due to their diversity, such discussion of the issue of choosing an oil is being conducted on the forums.

The most common are civilian versions with engines:

  • 2.0-liter;
  • 1.5 liter;
  • 1.6-liter, which came into use only in 2011;
  • 1.8-liter for a rather rare version of the Sportback hatchback.

So, we will consider each of the listed options and the recommended lubricant models for it.

What is the best engine oil for the Mitsubishi Lancer 10?

When choosing an oil in general, the main parameters to look out for are the viscosity and type of fluid. I think it's no secret for those who read that there are three types of motor oil:

  • Synthetic;
  • Semi-synthetic;
  • Mineral.

Each of these types has its own specifics. However, more on that later. In addition to these characteristics, the question is about which firm and which model to trust. Well, last but not least, are the temperature conditions of the vehicle and the first fill oil. Having decided on this information, you can proceed to a confident choice.

So, the first fact that you can find out is the first fill oil. Why is this parameter important? It's simple - if mineral oil was poured in, then synthetics are not recommended for use in the future. For Lancers with engines of 1.5, 1.6 and 1.8 liters, the original Mitsubishi Motors Genuine Oil API SM SAE 0W20 was the first fluid. It is a synthetic energy efficient engine oil. For two-liter engines, Mitsubishi Motors Genuine Oil API SM SAE 5W30 was poured - semi-synthetic. This means that the choice of the type of fluid is not limited.

Seasonal oil for Mitsubishi Lancer 10

The next point to consider is the choice of viscosity due to seasonal conditions. For countries of the former Soviet Union characterized by severe winters and hot summers. At peak subzero temperatures, the oil can lose its fluidity, so high viscosity in such conditions is unacceptable.

For ease of selection, a universal SAE classification was created:

As you can see, when filling the first oil, the seasonal conditions of the country in which the car was sold were taken into account. The fluid with the widest temperature range was used for all types of engines. That is, the most versatile option was chosen.

However, those who have read the recommendations for operating a car and know that it is advised to change the oil after 7,500 kilometers, or every 6 months, the question may arise: "is it not better to select the oil according to the season?" That's right, in connection with this, so many opinions are spread on the Internet. There are no viscosity restrictions for Lancer, so you can easily use any type from the list, as long as it suits the weather conditions.

Therefore, you can choose both multi-grade and specific oils. The choice of seasonal fluid depends on the model year of the vehicle. The brand also depends on the year, because some of them may be incompatible with certain car models. So, the table below lists the desired viscosities for summer and winter, as well as the recommended oil manufacturers:

Regardless of the year of manufacture of the car, synthetics or semi-synthetics will be preferable for it. Also, liquids from the original manufacturer will satisfy Lancer's needs. Therefore, it can be summarized under this chapter of the article.

First, gather information about operating conditions and pre-filled oil, as well as mileage. Based on this, you can determine the type of lubricant. If the mileage exceeds 100 thousand kilometers, then the synthetic fluid will not suit you because it is the most fluid and will leak. In this case, the choice is limited to mineral or semi-synthetic oil.

Second, select the optimum viscosity for the operating temperature. This is easily done using the table above. After that, the last point is the choice of a liquid manufacturer, from which we advise you to refer to proven and popular brands. Thus, the selection process is completed and you can proceed directly to the lubricant change.

How to change the oil yourself?

It may seem strange, but there is nothing difficult in the procedure for updating the lubricant. It can be done in a garage. But, of course, before that you need to stock up on some stock of knowledge and nuances, which is necessary for the success of the operation.

In addition, you will need tools:

  • Engine oil;
  • New filter;
  • A set of nuts and heads;
  • Container for waste liquid;
  • Lots of rags;
  • Watering can;
  • Safe clothing.

Once this set is assembled, you can proceed. Before starting the procedure, warm up the engine for 5-7 minutes so that the oil contained in it acquires the desired fluidity and merges successfully.

Position the vehicle on a level surface in a pit or overpass to access the underbody. To drain the oil, you will need to unscrew the drain valve from the corresponding hole with a head of 17. Prepare a container of a decent volume - from 4 liters and more. When performing these steps, be very careful and take care of safety measures. Dress in tight clothing and cover your skin, remember that you are dealing with hot oil.

When you unscrew the drain hole, wait about a minute for it to drain. At first, the pressure will be quite powerful, so the container should be high, no spray should fly out of it. A bucket will work perfectly.

Next to the drain hole there is a oil filter, which can be unscrewed while your old oil is flowing. A new filter with OS number 196 must be filled with grease before installation in order to avoid oil starvation at the first start. You should not feel sorry for the liquid, it will have time to absorb everything. Also wipe the rubber band on top of the filter and any fasteners that stopped behind the old filter. This is to ensure that the filter is securely attached without dirt particles. Twist new filter no need to be very tight, manual strength is enough.

This is followed by draining from the pallet. To do this, you can do without dismantling, and use new oil to wash out the old one. Unscrew the plug and start pouring. You do not need a lot of oil, only 100-200 grams. Watch the stream - at first it will be dirty, but with the arrival of new oil it will become lighter and more transparent. Wait until the liquid is as clean as possible, wipe the screw from the plug and tighten it.

That's all, now you can fill in a new one. In order to optimally fill the engine, measure the oil level with a dipstick after wiping it off. When the level on it is sufficient, the procedure can be considered successful. Then let the oil drain to the filter - this will take no more than five minutes. After that, you can already start the car on Idling... This is followed by a final level check and, if the level has dropped, further top-up. And that's all - the lubricating fluid has been successfully updated.

In general, the procedure is not at all complicated, you can regularly do it yourself and be satisfied with the results of your work. The main thing is to observe the frequency of replacement and not delay with it. It is also important to use only high quality fluid from a trusted manufacturer and follow safety precautions. In this simple way, this work is done in the best way. Enjoy your trips and reliable car operation!

For the duration of the operation of the power plant before the onset overhaul many factors affect. Among them, an important role is played by the quality of the oil used and the observance of the terms of its replacement.

The engine oil poured into the power unit performs a lot of functions. It prevents dry friction of metal surfaces, removes heat, reduces shock and vibration, and has anti-corrosion and detergent additives. During operation, the lubricant is exposed to heat and oxidation by combustible fuel. Therefore, it becomes necessary to change the oil on time. Otherwise, it becomes incapable of performing the functions assigned to it.

ATTENTION! Found a completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption! Don't believe me? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also did not believe until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline!

The choice of oil to be poured into the engine

Synthetics are preferred as the base for the oil. It is also allowed to use a semi-synthetic lubricant. Mineral oil in mitsubishi engines it is not recommended to use it due to the inability to fully perform the functions assigned to it.

The amount of oil to be poured depends on which power unit is installed. The table below shows the indicative capacities for lancer x.

If the engine does not eat oil, then a 4-liter canister should be purchased. If the car is chasing a masloger, then it is better to buy 5 liters of grease.

The viscosity of oil for Lancer 10 should be selected depending on climatic conditions and the season. From the factory in the internal combustion engine filled with the original SAE oil 0W20 and SAE 5W30. This oil the recommended official dealers in the first 1-3 years of operation. The first is used mainly in engines of 1.5 and 1.6 liters, and the second in 1.8 and 2.0 liters power plants... If necessary, fill in a similar lubricant.

Viscosity dependence motor lubricant from ambient temperature

Referring to the reviews of car owners and the recommendations of auto experts, the following list of recommended brands of oils with the required viscosity, depending on the year of car production, has been compiled. When buying oil, it is important to check that it is an original and not a fake.

Required oil for Lancer X, depending on the year of production

The cost of a liter of oil can vary from 350 to 800 rubles per liter. A four-liter canister, respectively, can cost from 1400 to 3200 rubles. The best oil provides a longer resource for the engine, which ultimately allows the car owner to have no capital repair costs longer.

Oil consumption in the power unit

The manufacturer indicates the same oil consumption rate for engines of the entire line. It is one liter of grease per thousand kilometers. These tolerances are too high. In reality, only a 1.5-liter engine suffers from a masloger. For other engines, the reduction in oil is almost negligible. The appearance of lubricant consumption is possible only if the motor is flowing.

As a result of coking piston rings or if an oil filler leak appears, initially a flow rate of up to 200 grams per 1000 kilometers may be observed. With a further increase in the oil meter, it is recommended to repair the power plant.

Oil change interval

The manufacturer recommends replacing every 15 thousand kilometers. Such a long interval can only be maintained in the absence of difficult conditions exploitation. Dynamic driving, standing in traffic jams and other additional loads on the engine lead to the need to halve the replacement interval. Therefore, car owners recommend pouring new oil with a mileage of 7.5-10 thousand km. Replacement at an earlier date is not advisable for the Lancer 10 used in normal conditions. For sports versions, the production of which has been established since 2008, with dynamic driving, the oil change interval is 5-6 thousand km on the odometer.

An oil change may be required earlier if the engine has overheated. Additives can completely cease to function as a result of thermal degradation. Also, you will have to fill in new oil ahead of time if another oil gets into it. technical fluid... If a situation has occurred when the lubricant level rises, then the cause of this must be eliminated before changing the oil.

DIY oil change process

Do-it-yourself oil change is not particularly difficult. To do this, it is recommended to follow the sequence below:

Change the fluid in the Lancer variator

CVT is a continuously variable transmission of a car that requires periodic replacement of the working fluid. The manufacturer recommends changing the composition regularly, every 90 thousand kilometers. But what kind of oil for the Mitsubishi Lancer 10 variator to choose is a very interesting question.

What to pour into the Mitsubishi Lancer 10 variator

There are several ways to choose a brand of composition.

  1. Look at the manual where it says DIAQUEEN CVTFJ1.
  2. Trust the official service, where the original or analogue will be filled in for sure.
  3. Select according to the permitted characteristics. Of the analogs, one can single out NISSANNS-2 , and the composition is popular for its qualities: it does not burn when high temperatures, does not crystallize from cold.

Regarding the choice between these two types of grease, it should be noted that the standard CVTF-J1 is completely mineral, which is not suitable for cold weather below -10 degrees.

Synthetics for Mitsubishi Lancer 10

Also widely used Mitasu CVT- a copy of DIAQUEEN CVTF, but at a lower price. The characteristics are practically not inferior to the standard, so the composition can become a priority if the region allows you not to think about the cold.

How an expensive and upscale choice can be imagined ENEOS CVT. It is designed for use in variators at high temperatures, and the manufacturer himself speaks of improving the operation of the unit, reducing the noise of the transmission by 5%, as well as extending the service life of the mechanisms. It is also completely synthetic, and most importantly - universal - the temperature range is from 208 to -45 degrees Celsius.

It is difficult to select the best composition for the Mitsubishi Lancer 10, since it all depends on the region of use and the load on the unit. It is recommended to take a closer look at commonly used oils, choosing the one that is suitable for the characteristics.

  1. Nissan NS-2. Oddly enough, but this particular composition is preferred by most Lancer drivers. It has a fairly high viscosity and performs well in the most extreme conditions... Nissan NS-2 does not freeze when low temperatures, does not burn at high.
  2. DiaQueen CVT. Of course, many people fill their " iron horses»Standard liquid and you can hardly say that this decision is wrong. But in a cold winter, there will be inconveniences that interfere with a comfortable ride.
  3. Mitasu CVT. This is another lubricant from Japanese manufacturers which was originally developed for the Lancer. Has properties similar to DiaQueen CVT, but is much cheaper.
  4. Eneos CVT is one of the most expensive oils for cars in this line.
This is all you need to know before starting the replacement. You can find out more detailed information only in service center Mitsubishi.

Replacement terms

Replacing the working fluid in the automatic transmission Mitsubishi Lancer 10

In the variator, it is better to change the composition every 70-90 thousand km of run... With timely replacement, you will not have to frequently change filters, and the system will not become clogged with accumulated debris. The unit will run smoothly and there will be no unpleasant sounds it will not publish if filters are changed after one oil change, that is, every 180,000 km.

As for the replacement method, in the usual procedure, it is enough to drain the old one and fill new composition, and if with a filter, then it is very good to use a service where synthetics will be allowed into the system under pressure.

Change CVT oil

On Mitsubishi Lancer 10, changing the variator working fluid is not difficult. No special hardware is required. It is enough to have a garage and a pit, a capacity of 6 liters and a key 24.

  • Step one is to unscrew the drain plug.
  • Step two is to drain all the old liquid into a container.
  • Step three - tighten the plug and put a new gasket (if you repeat the action, leave the replaced gasket).
  • Step four - pump in new oil through the oil filler pipe.

The volume of liquid CVT Lancer 10 - 7.8 liters. However, do not rush to fill everything at once, because the grease expands when heated. It is enough to fill in 7 liters. Then add the remaining amount after 1-2 days.

The oil consumption of the Mitsubishi Lancer 10 in the CVT gearbox is 0.166 liters per 1000 km. There are no subtleties in the replacement procedure, but it is important to keep track of so that no air tubes form. To do this, do not pour the liquid with a strong stream.

  • Step five - immediately after replacing it is necessary to start the engine, let it run for idle about 1-2 minutes.
  • Step six - switch the range selector in turn to each position, and then put it in N mode.
  • Step seven - turn off the engine, repeat steps one through six.
  • Step eight - drain some synthetics and check for cleanliness - if everything is fine, then the car is ready for use, if not, repeat steps 1 to 6 until the fluid is cleaned.

The service procedure has the advantage that the supply of lubricant under pressure allows 100% of air pockets to be avoided while the equipment is fully operational. Plus, changing the oil in the gearbox cooling radiator is also mandatory, and this can only be done in the service.

  1. It is important to drain working fluid hot, because the fluidity of the composition in this case allows you to remove much more of the old grease.
  2. Change lubricant regularly.
  3. The composition is selected only from the brands recommended by the manufacturer, depending on the operating conditions of the car.
  4. Conduct replacement ATF you can do it yourself, but sometimes you need to contact the service for better uploading to the system.
  5. It is imperative to change the filters, especially if the appearance of the drained oil is not good. If it is cloudy with impurities, this indicates insufficient filtration.

Filters can be replaced based on the state of the oil being replaced: if it is not cloudy and not contaminated with impurities that should not be present, then the filters can cope and can work out another similar period.

Replacement in automatic transmission

Oil change in automatic transmission Mitsubishi Lancer 10

A slightly more complicated procedure is ATF replacement. The point is, it is impossible to drain all the mining without resorting to removing the transmission. Fortunately, there is another, more cunning way. Working off contains a large number of unnecessary components - various rubbish and even metal shavings. All this makes the oil heavier.

So here's the way. The Lancer 10 transmission holds 7.7 liters of fluid, but we only pour 4.5. This is how it all looks:

  • we drain about 4 liters of ATF and add a new composition to the box;
  • after which we continue to drain the liquid;
  • top up the remainder, we rejoice in a prompt and easy replacement.

The old lubricant will immediately begin to settle at the bottom of the crankcase and drain into the container that we have prepared in advance. You need to drain the ATF until a clean composition comes out.

The plus of an independent oil change in Mitsubishi Lancer is a benefit and cognition, and a minus - you cannot be sure of the absolute correctness of the actions performed, which in the worst case may affect the performance of the car.

Lancer is an iconic model for Mitsubishi, it is no coincidence that this year it will celebrate its 45th anniversary. Lancer 10, production of which started in 2007, is the latest generation of this compact car... The popularity of this brand all over the world is very high, it is no coincidence that the model is assembled at five factories in different countries... With an individual exterior, comfortable interior and a range of economical and efficient powertrains, Lancer X fully meets the high Japanese and international standards in the field of quality, reliability and safety.

Algorithm for changing engine oil in Mitsubishi Lancer X.

But no matter how high performance characteristics this model, without timely execution routine maintenance for maintenance, the service life of the car would be much less. Meanwhile, many of them can be done independently, including lubricants. What is the best oil for Lancer 10, when and how to change it - we will try to answer these questions.

Replacement frequency

Currently, the line of tenth Lancers is equipped with the following gasoline power units:

  • 1.5 (oil volume - 4.2 liters);
  • 1.6 (oil volume - 4.2 liters);
  • 1.8 (oil volume - 4.3 l.);
  • 2.0 (oil volume - 4.1 liters, models up to 2012);
  • 2.0 (oil volume - 5.8 liters, models from 2012);
  • 2.4 (oil volume - 4.6 l.).

In the Lancer 10 engine, according to the recommendations of the automaker, it is every 15 thousand kilometers. In this case, together with the lubricant, the oil filter must also be replaced. However, focus only on mileage, according to many automotive experts, it does not follow.

Car operation in heavy road conditions significantly reduces this interval, and this concept should be understood not only as quality Russian roads... As you know, extreme temperature conditions of engine operation, as well as:

  • low quality fuel filling;
  • driving in a metropolis with frequent stops while the engine is running;
  • driving on country roads without a hard surface;
  • aggressive driving style.

If any of the above factors are present, the replacement interval should be reduced to 5-7.5 thousand kilometers, and without them, change the lubricant in power unit every 10,000 kilometers.

What kind of oil to pour

At the factory, Mitsubishi Lancer is filled with original oil of its own production. The first fill oil obviously cannot be bad, but in this case it has a number of positive qualities:

  • high thermal stability;
  • reliable protection against corrosion;
  • resistance to foaming;
  • compatibility with modern and previously used sealing materials;
  • excellent extreme pressure characteristics;
  • the ability to increase the efficiency of an internal combustion engine;
  • fuel efficiency;
  • ensuring reliable starting of the power unit in conditions of negative temperatures.

It is far from always possible to use it for replacement, and the huge selection of lubricants on the market makes it difficult to get an answer to the question of which engine oil to fill in the Lancer 10 engine. The automaker itself recommends filling Mitsubishi Lancer X with oils that meet the following quality parameters of the engine mixture :

The choice of the manufacturer is not so important - often lubricants from famous brands practically do not differ from oils of less well-known manufacturers of auto chemistry, except for the price. And it doesn't always make sense to overpay for a trademark.

Work order

First you need to purchase consumables: the actual oil, guided by the above table, an oil filter and a new gasket for the drain plug located on the crankcase of the power unit. If possible, it is better to purchase original consumables:

  • Genuine Oil 5W30 (4 liter canister, p / n MZ320757)
  • Genuine Oil 5W30 (liter canister, catalog number MZ320756);
  • drain plug gasket (catalog number MD050317);
  • oil filter for the 1.6 liter power unit. (catalog number MZ690070), alternatively you can use oil filters Mann W6103, Filtron P575, Mahle C196;
  • oil filter for a 1.5 l engine (catalog number MR984204, analogs - filters Mann W67, Mahle C495, Purflux LS287).

In addition, you should prepare 13/17 wrenches (end / open-end), a special oil wrench for a filter with a diameter of 60 mm., Some rags and a container for draining the used grease.

Before starting the procedure, you should warm up the car by driving 5-10 kilometers so that the oil becomes more fluid - in this case, it will merge in a more complete volume. It is also necessary to take care of the possibility of unhindered access to the underbody of the car. Many overpasses built in Soviet times are designed for representatives of the automotive industry produced at that time, and may not be suitable for a wide Lancer 10 - this moment must be taken into account.

Here is the sequence of Mitsubishi Lancer 10:

  1. Remove the engine protection, which is attached with four bolts. We use the key for 13.
  2. Install opposite drain hole a container of a suitable volume prepared in advance (from 5 liters).
  3. Unscrew the key for 17 drain plug, at the very end we do it carefully so as not to burn ourselves.
  4. If the grease to be poured differs from the previously used one in any parameter specified in the table (type, viscosity, class), it is necessary. To do this, twist the drain plug back, open the drain plug (by turning it counterclockwise) and, using a funnel, fill the engine with a special flushing compound in a volume of about 3.5 - 4 liters. We start the power unit, let it run for 10 - 15 minutes, turn off and drain the flushing in the same way as it was done with used oil.
  5. We tighten the drain plug by changing the O-ring to a new one.
  6. We unscrew the oil filter. Usually, in order to rip it off, you need to use a special puller, later it is well unscrewed by hand.
  7. Pour engine oil into the new filter, filling it by about 2/3 of its volume, carefully lubricate the sealing gum with the same oil, screw the oil filter into place.
  8. We shoot filler plug and proceed to filling with fresh lubricant, guided by the marks on the dipstick. When the oil reaches the midpoint between the MIN and MAX marks, stop filling.
  9. We start the engine, let it run for about 5 minutes at idle speed. We muffle and check the lubricant level again, usually it decreases slightly. In any case, we top up to the MAX mark - this is required by the automaker, regardless of the type of power unit. The amount of engine oil that we have drained should not act as a guideline.
  10. We put in place the protection of the crankcase.

Level check oil liquid in the engine should be done regularly (ideally before every ride). To do this, it is necessary to place the car on a strictly horizontal surface, which will exclude any errors in measurements. If the oil is drained with a hot engine, then the correct level check is with a cold one. The fact is that when the power unit is running, a lot of liquid is sprayed over the surface of the engine, as a result of which there is a volume in the sump that is far from complete. Therefore, after the trip, it is necessary to let the car stand for up to 10 minutes - this time is enough for all the oil to flow into the crankcase.

If, as a result of the check, it turns out that the lubricant level is below the recommended level, you just need to top up the required amount. But what if you overdo it, and you can see on the dipstick that the lubricant level has gone above the MAX mark? In this case, you need to find a long enough piece of rubber hose and pump out excess fluid. This can be technically challenging, so you can use a needleless syringe that fits over the other end of the hose. The oil must be pumped out until the lubricant level is brought into conformity with the standard indicators.

As you can see, the replacement motor fluid in the power unit Lancer 10 cannot be attributed to a procedure, the implementation of which requires special skills and the availability of specialized equipment (with the exception of an oil filter remover, which can be purchased at any auto shop). Guided by the instructions given, even a person who rarely picks up a wrench is able to perform such an operation. The only caveat is if the car is new and is under warranty service, self replacement oil (as well as performing this procedure not at an official service) will void the warranty.
