At the same time, in Belarus about problems with these motors, it is not heard. What is this - features of Russian operating, as some say, or still technological miscalculation? To find out, journalists ABW.BY gathered several cars and sent them to the Endoscopy of the CPG.

Let's start with the fact that the engines "clones" G4KD (THAETA II) and 4B11 are built on the architecture of the Global Engine Alliance - the Alliance created by Corporations Chrysler, Mitsubishi and Hyundai, but at the initiative of Hyundai. Each company introduced some adjustments to their brand, but the architecture remained uniform. The main part of the development was carried out by Hyundai.

The motor is completely aluminum, contains four valves per cylinder, two camshafts in the cylinder head (DOHC), as well as a system for changing the phase distribution with electronically control Mivec (intake and release). In total, four cars were found in Minsk (in two cases, the knocks were already "on hot"), of which three cars eventually took part in our "disassembly". Also invited the owners of two cars with a mileage of 70.000 and 140.000 km, which were not complained about the knocks.

There is only an individual entrepreneur, a car machine with an experience, which is engaged in engine endoscopy. By the way, it was almost a month ago a car was diagnosed, the internal content of the engine of which was shown at the beginning of the article.

The first inspected car of 2011 was already driving 87,000 km. Purchased new in the Belarusian dealer, after which was operated by one owner. After the end of the warranty, the stuffs "on the cold" appeared. Over time, they were present and after the engine warming, the truth is noticeably quieter. At the same time, small vibrations began to be felt before warming the motor.

The owner of the day before the experiment visited the KIA official dealer service station. The endoscope of the "official" was not found, but the mechanics on the hearing were determined that in the cylinders of the jackets. They say, this is a well-known problem, you need to open the engine and change the cylinder block worth about $ 4,000.

The owner claims that it goes well, the first kilometers presses the "gas" carefully. The car is serviced at the dealer in a timely manner. Moreover, he even reduced the interval from 15,000 to 10.000-12.000 km. In Carter, then the oil, which is recommended by our dealer, is Motul 8100 5W30.

The next car is 2011. Also bought in Minsk. At the moment, the mileage is 109.000 km, the warranty is over. The owner is concerned about the knocking "on the cold". However, listen - the knock is perfectly audible and "on the hot". From all cars here we heard the most loud and clear knock. But even it is not heard in the cabin after heating.

The next car came from Russia in 2015. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 86.000 km, now 115.000. The knocks after starting the engine appeared when the owner read the forums. Yes, maybe many people simply do not hear them.

The presence of problems in the cylinders was confirmed. On the walls of the second and third cylinders - the middle jackets from the exhaust manifold. The first cylinder is clean, in the fourth there is a pair of scratches on the back wall. Nagara relative to other machines is a bit, but still clearly not at 115.000 km of mileage.

It was this car that journalists tried to remove Chinese USB endoscopes. The first saw only the piston, the second one was recorded vertical scratches on the wall of the cylinder. True, rotate the camera managed to a small angle, so the wall is visible only at the very bottom. After five minutes of attempts, the probe overheated and the device turned off forever.

By the way, pay attention to the ends of the candle housing. It is in the second and third candles that carbon deposits are noticeable. So, if you have suspicion of jackets in G4KD, but there is no endoscope, you can try to unscrew the candles and look at the ends of the case. In general, the car is still driving, how much will erupt - it is unknown, but the problems have already begun.

Black Sportage 2012 I ran the most - 140.000 km, bought with a mileage of 40,000 km in Russia. There is practically nothing about maintenance there. What is the result? We disassembled one engine. There were five more engines - they discovered loops in all. In three out of five cases, the owners declared the presence of a knocks - these cars were taken on endoscopy specifically to find out the reason for the knocks. The other two are chosen completely by chance, about the knocks and any problems the owners did not speak.

To be honest, it is strange that in all three cars with the stated presence of foreign sounds there will be any problems. After all, it can knock anything or not to knock. Car enthusiast can take for outsided sounds The usual shock is nozzles, problems with the timing drive or the operation of non-regulated valves, since there are no hydrocompensators at G4KD, the valves must be adjusted. But no, in three cars - Zadira. In addition, they showed out in cars whose owners did not hear any knocks ... And another car with a knock and did not reach the endoscopy. In general, it is surprising.

Any pattern of identifying could not be revealed. Carters from these engines are distinguished: there is both 4-liter and 6-liter. There were mainly cars on the inspection filling capacity 6 l, but it is unlikely to influence something. Oils were used very different. Service, as the owners assure, was carried out only on the regulations, and some of them reduced the oil replacement interval. Two cars were bought in Belarus, four are driven during the favorable course of the ruble from Russia. Some cars were served by official dealers, There are service documents, others - on unofficial hundred. "Automatic", "Mechanics"? No matter.

The only thing that was detected - different machines Zadira are developing with different "intensity". At one of them, on mileage 115.000, the beginning of the occurrence of problems, and the second on 87,000 km will soon need to be repaired. Often in the blocks of engines there are oil nozzles, which are designed to water the piston oil from below, thereby cooling them, as well as improving cylinder lubrication. In the atmospheric version of this motor there are no such nozzles, they are only in the turbocharged version of the Japanese 4B11T, as well as in all diesel engines that are put on Sportage. Some motorists believe that it aggravates the situation with the G4KD absence, the piston overheats, which leads to a decrease in the gap.

True, there are engines and without oil nozzles, which do not have problems with jackets. In nozzles, it is difficult or not, it is difficult to say, but at will, you will certainly be embedded in a block with overhaul. It may also be possible to help the installation of a water-oil heat exchanger from the "senior" engine G4KE, as the lack of circulation of oil "on the cold" in the winter period also aggravates the situation. True, we did not conduct any calculations and expertise, so all this is only assumptions.

How to solve the problem if the motor staped and began to consume butter on the avgar? Two options are available: or replacing the cylinder block, which is very expensive, or the plot of the block, which is also expensive, but at least it makes sense. The second option is most common. Standard pistons and rings, sleeves (suitable from Toyota), a set of gaskets and other necessary parts for repair will cost, as we counted, about $ 1000.
