Fiat Tipo sedan - renamed Fiat Aegea. Spectacular Fiat Tipo sedan Car prices

04.11.2021

Tell me why there is no internal handle for closing the trunk?

Why does she need it? Still, people often grab the lid from above.

Italians in their repertoire. Saving a penny more than once turned into problems for them not only in Europe, but also in Russian market. Remember, about fifteen years ago, at the time of the next arrival of passenger Fiats, we had a “popular wave” under the motto “We don’t need such a Fiat”?.. But as I got to know Tipo, it became clear to me that there were no other serious punctures there is practically no car.

The Tipo is built on a crossover platform, but using a simpler rear suspension depending on the model - because there is no all-wheel drive version and there never will be. Tipo was designed in the Italian Style Center of the FCA concern (Fiat Chrysler Automotive), and in three versions at once - sedan (length 4540 mm), hatchback (4470 mm) and station wagon (4540 mm).

We've seen more elegant Fiats, but some solutions deserve attention - for example, elegant taillights.

There are four engines - two petrol (95 and 110 hp) and two turbodiesel (95 and 120 hp). In addition to the manual transmission, there is an automatic transmission and even a robot with two clutches.

First, the sedan appeared as - and under this name is already sold in Turkey. And for the vast majority of other markets (there are about forty of them), the good old name Tipo was chosen. The newcomer is to some extent the heir to the model - but that one is more modest and cheaper, there is still good demand for it (at least in Turkey), so for some time it will be produced in parallel with the Tipo.

I've driven the Tipo twice. First, I drove a pre-production car in the vicinity of the plant in Bursa (Turkey), where cars will be produced for all European markets. I vomited about twenty kilometers along a straight road in a convoy of several cars. I only managed to understand that even the pre-production Tipo was made to last - not a single panel creaked or fell off. I also liked the seats (soft, but with a good profile) and the multimedia system with a convenient touchscreen, unified with other FCA cars. Other advantages are a huge trunk (520 l) and spacious backseat: “behind myself” I sit down with a little room in my knees, and my height is 186 cm.

The second meeting was in Belgrade, where I managed not only to drive on public roads, but also to cut several laps along a small ring road.

Even when shod with 17‑inch tires, the Tipo does not shake its soul on bumps: the suspension is what you need! But I expected more from the 120-horsepower 1.6 turbodiesel: it’s noisy high speed and not too bouncy at low. Partially saves the situation manual transmission, which clicks no worse than on French and Korean cars of this class.

And on the ring Tipo revealed itself in all its glory! Rain, temperature around zero, Winter tires average level - and I safely turn off the stabilization system and do whatever I want with the car. A slight understeer that goes into neutral is safe and exciting at the same time. It's a pity, the engine is still the same - a gloomy diesel. This would include a 110-horsepower gasoline, which is lighter and more vigorous, and it would be very good. The Italians have not yet forgotten how to tune the chassis!

Nice appearance, good materials, high-quality assembly, interesting options (even voice control of the audio system), spacious trunk - Tipo is on the same level with or Kia Rio. Why are you laughing? It was 15-20 years ago that few people took Korean cars seriously, but now the power has changed - at least on the Russian market.

I pestered the Italians with one question: when? After all, such a Fiat would look good on our customers.

We are ready to supply Tipo to Russia, but it all depends on the market, competition, pricing...

Interesting movie: Tipo will be supplied to Serbia with its tiny market, but not to us yet. What is the reason? Sanctions? Is Turkish production putting a spoke in the wheels?

The price is everything. The Italians proudly said that Tipo in basic configuration in most markets it will cost 10,500 euros - this does not take into account internal taxes, which vary greatly from country to country. European journalists beamed: a lucrative offer! But 10,500 euros is 800 thousand rubles! And more taxes? No, without localization there is nothing to think about the Russian market - that’s what I told the Italians. They went to think.

FIAT TIPO - WINNER OF THE AUTOBEST COMPETITION

Initially, AutoBest is an Eastern European competition, and I represent Russia in it. We recently announced a major expansion: starting in the fall of 2015, the jury includes automotive journalists from 26 countries. Almost all of Europe is represented - with the exception of Germany, Belarus and the Baltic countries. Every year we choose best cars among the relatively affordable ones - no more than 20,000 euros (excluding taxes).

Fiat Tipo debuted at the Istanbul Spring Exhibition car showroom in May 2015. In fact, the model is the second generation, however, apart from the name, it has nothing in common with the hatchback produced at the end of the 20th century. On domestic market, the car will be named Aegea. The new product has stylish elongated headlights with large reflectors and elegant sections of daytime running lights. The radiator grille is designed in a restrained style. It consists of many small horizontally oriented ribs and sports the manufacturer's logo. Below, under the bumper reinforcement, there is a small elongated air intake covered with a plastic mesh. On the sides of it there are special recesses with large fog lights. In general, the car has a modern and quite pleasant appearance, which will allow it to withstand competition in its segment.

Dimensions of Fiat Tipo

Fiat Tipo is a four-door C class sedan. Its overall dimensions are: length 4532 mm, width 1792 mm, height 1497 mm, wheelbase 2636 mm, and ground clearance is 150 millimeters. This clearance is typical for cars whose path is asphalt streets and suburban highways. They hold the road well, do not lose stability at high speeds, and can even climb small curbs while parking.

The Fiat Tipo's trunk boasts excellent spaciousness. Three-volume body provides up to 520 liters of free space. Thanks to this volume, the car is perfect for the everyday tasks of a city user, and will not lose face even during long trip with plenty of luggage and several passengers on board.

Fiat Tipo engine and transmission

The Fiat Tipo is equipped with four engines, manual and automatic transmissions and exclusively front-wheel drive. Thanks to this set, the car becomes quite versatile and is able to meet most of the needs of a potential buyer.

  • Basic Fiat engine The Tipo is an in-line naturally aspirated petrol four with a volume of 1368 cubic centimeters. Thanks to a modern gas distribution mechanism, it develops 95 Horse power at 6000 rpm and 127 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm crankshaft in a minute. In this configuration, the sedan accelerates to a speed of one hundred kilometers per hour in 11.5 seconds, and the speed ceiling, in turn, will be 185 kilometers per hour. The fuel consumption of the Fiat Tipo will be 7.7 liters of gasoline per hundred kilometers at a city pace with frequent acceleration and braking, 4.6 liters during a measured trip on the highway and 5.7 liters of fuel per hundred in the combined driving cycle.
  • The top-end engine of the Fiat Tipo is an in-line turbocharged diesel four with a volume of 1598 cubic centimeters. The turbocharger allowed engineers to squeeze out 120 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 320 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. Thanks to its impressive traction, the sedan accelerates from zero to hundreds in 9.7 seconds, and maximum speed, in turn, will be 199 kilometers per hour. Diesel power units have always been distinguished by high torque and efficiency. Fuel consumption of the Fiat Tipo will be 5.2 liters per hundred kilometers in the city, 3.6 liters on the highway and 4.2 liters of fuel per hundred in the combined driving cycle.

Bottom line

Fiat Tipo keeps up with the times. It has a stylish and quite catchy design, which will perfectly emphasize the character and individuality of its owner. Such a car will not dissolve in the gray everyday traffic and will not get lost in a large parking lot. shopping center. The salon is a kingdom of high-quality finishing materials, well-adjusted ergonomics, practicality and comfort. Even a long trip will not bring unnecessary inconvenience. The manufacturer understands perfectly well that, first of all, the car should provide driving pleasure. That is why, under the hood of the sedan there is a powerful and technologically advanced power unit, which is an alloy innovative technologies and many years of experience in the field of engine building. Fiat Tipo will last for many kilometers and will give you unforgettable emotions from your trip.

At the Istanbul Motor Show in May 2015, Fiat officially demonstrated to the public new sedan under the name Aegea, which is considered the successor to the Linea three-box, once popular in emerging markets. The Italians have been developing the model for three years together with the Turkish company Tofas, at whose enterprise its serial production will be organized.

The appearance of the “Tipo” sedan (that’s what it will be called in all markets except Turkey – where it will remain “Aegea”) is designed in a beautiful and elegant style with smooth and airy contours and spectacular plastic body panels. But along with purely Italian elegance, the three-volume car is not without solidity, which is created by the “squinted” headlights of the head optics, a large radiator grille and original rear lights that extend onto the trunk lid in the upper part. Stylish stampings on the sidewalls, a few chrome elements and sloping roof lines complete the harmonious appearance of the car.

According to their own overall dimensions“Tipo” fits well into the standards of the “golf” class, settling halfway between classes B+ and C. The length of the car is 4500 mm, height – 1480 mm, width – 1780 mm, wheelbase – 2640 mm. This means that the “Italian” will have to compete with Skoda Rapid and Citroen C-Elysee.

The interior of the Fiat Tipo looks no less interesting - a stylish steering wheel with a scattering of control buttons, a laconic instrument panel with white digitization and a screen on-board computer in the center, as well as a beautiful center console with a 5-inch touchscreen on top, three “washers” air conditioning system and auxiliary keys. But all this will be the privilege of rich trim levels; the interior design of the basic versions will be much simpler.

According to the Italian manufacturer, Fiat Tipo 2016 model year can accommodate five adult passengers on board, and sufficient space is provided in both the first and second rows of seats.

The volume of the cargo compartment is 510 liters; a full-size cargo compartment will most likely be located underground. spare wheel, and the back will fold to increase capacity.

If we talk about technical characteristics, then for the Tipo sedan, Fiat engineers have proposed a line of four power units, This:

  • two MultiJet turbodiesels with a volume of 1.3 (95 hp) and 1.6 (120 hp) liters
  • and two naturally aspirated petrol fours with a volume of 1.4 (95 hp) and 1.6 (110 hp) liters.

In tandem with the motors, mechanical and automatic transmission gears, as well as a front-wheel drive transmission.

There are no detailed characteristics of the engines, we only know that the most economical version will need only 4 liters of fuel per 100 km in combined mode.

This car is based on a Small Wide platform with MacPherson struts on the front axle and a semi-independent torsion beam design on the front axle. rear axle. Integrated into the steering system electric amplifier, and ventilated disc brakes are installed on the front wheels.

In November 2015, the Tipo / Aegea sedan will appear in Fiat dealerships in forty countries (Europe, Middle East and Africa). Options and prices will be announced closer to the start of sales, but for now it is only known that well-equipped versions of the sedan will receive a multimedia system with a 5-inch monitor, voice control, TomTom navigation and AUX and USB connectors, as well as a rear view camera.

The first display of the Fiat Tipo 2018 took place back in 2014 in Geneva at a motor show. But May 2015 was just marked for lovers of Italian Fiat brand official presentation of the new model, which was shown to the general public in 3 bodies at once: sedan, hatchback and station wagon. However, information about the hatchback and station wagon remained closed, and the sedan went into mass production. Moreover, it became the flagship of the Italian automaker, which replaced two models that were previously highly popular - Linea and.

The development of the compact C-class sedan took three years, together with the Turkish company Tofas, which is perhaps why the car debuted at the Istanbul Motor Show. The production of the car is organized at the enterprise of this very company.

It is worth knowing that the model name Tipo is available only to residents of Europe, but in Turkey the car is sold under the name Fiat Aegea. Since it belongs to the class of compact sedans, its competitors were announced as Czech and two French models - and. If the “Italian” has a choice of body styles, then the above-mentioned competitors are available only in the “sedan” body.

Design

Regardless of which body the buyer chooses, the car has elegant and stylish lines that meet modern requirements.

At the front, the car received slightly narrowed optics and a large radiator grille, which is made in a signature and unique style. In the center of the grille is the logo of the Italian company. From the cutouts on the head optics, along the bottom of the grille there is a chrome strip that separates the front bumper from the rest of the Fiat Tipo. The bumper has an inflated shape, and small rectangular ones are mounted in its corners. fog lights, between which there is a large air intake in the form of a trapezoid. The hood of the car, complemented by clear edges around the edges, adds a little aggression.

The car has a very striking profile that combines dynamics and elegance. It is especially worth noting the unique wheel disks, the front optics that extend strongly onto the car’s fender and the “cutout” at the rear between the lights and the bumper, which, in combination with the long rear lights, gives it a special look.

The sidewalls of the Fiat Tipo 2018 are decorated with “tides” and smooth lines that do not let consumers forget that this car came from the center of world fashion, from a country where people know what style is.

No less impressive is the rear of the sedan, which has a complex architecture with many lines and transitions. The trunk lid has a “bulge” along the edge, similar to a small spoiler. Immediately below this is the brand logo, and behind it is a chrome strip, identical to the stripe at the front of the car. The taillights originate from a chrome strip and run down to the rear bumper in a semicircle. A lantern is located in the center of the semicircle reverse. The rear bumper looks neat, and its lower part has a smooth surface, pipes exhaust system camouflaged.

Dimensions:

  • The length of the compact sedan is 4532 mm;
  • width – 1792 mm;
  • height – 1497 mm;
  • wheelbase – 2636 mm;
  • ground clearance– 150 mm.

While the different body styles have the same wheelbase and ground clearance, their dimensions differ slightly.

Hatchback/station wagon:

  • length – 4368/4571 mm;
  • width – 1792/1792 mm;
  • height – 1495/1514 mm.

Fiat Tipo salon

Inside, the car has a minimalist style, but the interior looks quite attractive and has high-quality finishing materials for this class of car.

The steering wheel has a premium look with a wide range of functions, and dashboard, located behind it, is “strewn” with a large number of indicators. The center console houses a tiny display of the multimedia system. It's separated from the rest of the console by a single row of buttons. Below are rounded air ducts and a climate control unit in the form of three round shapes.

The tunnel isn't anything special, but it does have a pair of cup holders and a large armrest. The front seats have comfortable padding and pronounced lateral support, as well as a wide range of adjustments.

Regardless of the body type, there is more space in the back row of seats than its closest competitors, and the manufacturers themselves even claim that three tall basketball players can easily and comfortably fit in the second row of seats. By the way, if there are only two of them, they will be able to use the central armrest, which has a pair of cup holders.

Volume luggage compartment varies from 440 to 550 liters, but it can be more than tripled if the backs of the second row of seats are folded. Again, it all depends on the body type. The Italian model had room for both a repair kit and a spare wheel.

FIAT Tipo, 1992

I bought the car a year ago, and although I didn’t drive it much in winter, once or twice a month, I have the best impression of the FIAT Tipo - it starts even at -20C (which, frankly, surprised me every time) with half a turn. But the interior warms up with great difficulty, and freezes again very quickly (literally 15 minutes and the temperature is the same as outside). The 1.6 engine is quite enough, although compared to the old AUDI 80 with a 1.8 engine low revs doesn't want to go at all. But if the engine is revved up well, driving a FIAT Tipo becomes a pleasure, especially since the car’s suspension is stiff and holds the road perfectly. True, at first the scarecrow was very “sharp” steering with an amplifier (in comparison with the same AUDI). But after traveling for a week or two, I realized that this is how it should be.

Advantages : starts in any frost. Reliable.

Flaws : hard suspension. The interior takes a long time to warm up.

FIAT Tipo, 1990

I bought a FIAT Tipo in 2003 from a man who was its third owner, or rather, not he, but his wife and, as it turned out, not only she, but the drivers before her also turned out to be women. This means that I received the device (as it turned out) in a very unsightly condition. technical condition, but the price was not great. After the first inspections and probing, it turned out that since 1993 almost no one has worked on this machine and all the rubber bands, seals, accordions and seals are original, from the factory (this is about quality). I managed to change it myself, which means it’s not expensive. FIAT Tipo is equipped with a 1.4 hp engine. 78 horses, boosted due to air conditioning (we have a hot climate). With the air conditioning turned off, the FIAT Tipo accelerates as well as others and doesn't eat much, but with the air conditioner running vigorously, it eats like a trophy horse. After replacing the necessary parts and components, I can say: I’m happy with the car. It is so easy to repair that replacing the clutch is not difficult even near the house, and the rest is generally a pleasure. There are no complaints about the electrics, which means it’s not capricious, there’s nothing to break. Everything is original.

Advantages : easy to repair. Comfort. Unpretentiousness.

Flaws : age.

Alexey, Orel

FIAT Tipo, 1989

The specificity of the FIAT Tipo is as follows: the overall level of manufacturing quality of all parts is not high (better than domestic ones, but worse than German and Japanese ones), but the level of engineering elaboration is worthy of praise. What is meant here: you often have to repair a car on small things (depending on the previous owner and your own skills), but doing repairs on your own is quite convenient. Most of the parts are easily accessible, for some reason the nuts unscrew normally, etc. Reliability problems for the FIAT Tipo are primarily related to the electrical system: over 14 years, the connectors oxidize, rot and contacts are lost, as a result, problems familiar to the owner of eights and nines may arise. short name "mounting block", but here it is more difficult to look for them, since they are often localized to this very block. On appearance Everyone has their own opinion, for example, I don’t like FIAT Tipo with yellow turn signals and black bumpers. And the general opinion is that for the money it looks quite decent, if you at least put wheel caps on the wheels (or better yet alloy wheels) and wash more often.

Advantages : comfortable interior. Landing. Definitely better than VAZs.

Flaws : the years take their toll.

Peter, Volgograd

FIAT Tipo, 1990

Golf class car. In 1989, the Fiat Tipo received the title of "European Car of the Year". The car was extremely popular in Brazil. It outsold Volkswagen Golf, which was the best-selling car in Brazil for 20 years. Spacious, digital panel instruments, whoever sits down does not believe that the car is from the 90s. The carburetor, and indeed the FIAT Tipo in general, is as simple as “three kopecks”, like the first car. Main disadvantage- this is her age. It is rotting because it was used in Moscow. It is clear that the car is damaged. Even the end of the spar is not straightened, the front end is askew on its side. I got the car for free from my uncle; he bought himself a new Golf 5. I've had the car for less than a year. I welded the spar floor, paid 5 thousand and replaced the jammed caliper. Yes, there is still work to be done, but the FIAT Tipo drives as it is. I like the car better than nine will.

Advantages : better than VAZs. Simple design. Reliability.

Flaws : rotting with age.

Peter, Volgograd

FIAT Tipo, 1989

Compared to our cars, FIAT Tipo is “heaven and earth”. I have a second car, a VAZ 2115, it just can’t be compared in terms of cross-country ability, the Fiat is much better, although heavier and much more economical. Yes, there have been problems lately, spare parts are tight, the years have taken their toll, well, I won’t give up the car until the last contract unit disappears from the sites. Just good car, the easiest to use, repairing if necessary is a pleasure. Not like some VAZs and even foreign cars from other manufacturers. For me, as a connoisseur of simplicity and reliability, the car is simply super. Now the FIAT Tipo is in the village with my father, he is simply happy as an elephant. She never let him down in difficult times. If it broke down, it was not on the highway, but right in the garage. I myself witnessed such an event when the pump suddenly leaked, there was a new one in stock, freedom engine compartment made it possible to easily replace it. Also, the FIAT Tipo surprises many people, it’s just that no one they know has seen such a fancy car, and when they find out the year of its production, they are shocked (they say it still drives). And just like the last time I tried to race with the Priora, it rushed like crazy, as much as there was on the speedometer, I put as much in it, leaving the Priora far behind, and I myself was shocked - how old it is, and it drives so quickly.

Advantages : frisky. Convenient. Reliable. Never let me down.

Flaws : years.
