From the rear, you pay attention to the trunk lid, another spoiler and the size of the glass; the shape of the optics has received a slight angularity, which, in principle, looks good. The bumper has a large protective layer of plastic, which is good news; off-road conditions and snow drifts are not scary.

The color palette is still presented in seven colors, among which the most common are red, blue, black, white, gray, and yellow.

Globally, the interior was redesigned during the transition from the second generation, now during the regular and planned restyling, almost nothing has changed here. Even if we take the same plastics and finishing materials in general, there is nothing new, the only thing is that maybe the quality has been improved somewhere.

The instrument panel is standard, with huge “wells” and tiny on-board computer, placed between them. As an option, they will be able to offer a new virtual panel, however, without connection with the main monitor. The exterior of the “fourth” Hyundai Santa Fe is drawn in accordance with the current style of the South Korean brand - the SUV looks attractive, modern, elegant and moderately solid.

Well, the most impressive (and at the same time aggressive) appearance of the car is shown from the front - two-story optics with LED “filling”, a wide radiator grille of a complex shape and a massive bumper.

Despite its impressive dimensions, in profile the five-door is not perceived as heavy, but on the contrary, it can boast of balanced and quite dynamic proportions - “muscular” wheel arches, relief “folds” on the sidewalls, a smoothly rising window sill line and rear-view mirrors mounted on legs.

A solid line-up is offered for the fourth incarnation of the Hyundai Santa Fe power plants, but on Russian market it is equipped with only two of them:

  • The starting option is a gasoline “aspirated” GDI Theta-II series with a displacement of 2.4 liters with four vertically arranged cylinders, distributed injection fuel, 16-valve timing and variable valve timing, which generates 188 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 241 Nm of peak potential at 4000 rpm.
  • An alternative to it is a 2.2-liter CRDi VGT diesel four with a turbocharger, battery fuel injection and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, which produces 200 hp. at 3800 rpm and 440 Nm of rotating thrust at 1750-2750 rpm.

The gasoline unit is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the diesel unit is mated to an 8-speed gearbox.

Regardless of the version, the car relies on the HTRAC all-wheel drive transmission - by default, the crossover has drive on the front axle, however, when starting or slipping the wheels, up to 50% of the power can be directed to rear wheels via an electrical coupling.

The five-door achieves its first “hundred” in 9.4-10.4 seconds, and its maximum speed is 195-203 km/h.

Gasoline modifications of the “Korean” consume on average 9.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers in combined mode, and diesel modifications – 7.5 liters.

In other countries, this mid-size SUV is also available with a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated GDI engine with direct injection, producing 185 hp. and 241 Nm of torque, a 2.0-liter GDI turbo-four with 240 hp in its arsenal. and 353 Nm, as well as a 2.0-liter diesel engine producing 186 hp. and 402 Nm. They are combined not only with automatic transmissions, but also with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The fourth generation Hyundai Santa Fe is based on a seriously modernized “trolley” of its predecessor with a transversely mounted engine and the widest use of high-strength steel grades in the body structure (they account for 57%).

The car is fully equipped independent suspensions with hydraulic shock absorbers and transverse stabilizers: front – McPherson struts, rear – multi-link architecture. Available as an option for the five-door rear suspension on pneumatic elements, helping to maintain ground clearance at the same level, regardless of the degree of load.

This “Korean” is equipped with electric power steering mounted directly on the rack. All five-door wheels are equipped disc brakes(ventilated at the front) with ABS, EBD and other modern features.
