Oddly enough, all the "participants" showed approximately the same results.

With such problems, almost every car concern faced. In most cases, the most problematic zone was the lid of the trunk, namely the niches under plastic lining. The company Toyota was noticeable, offering new cars with rusting hoods. In a situation with Ford and Mazda, the problem plot was simply repainted. Toyota dealer, known to consumers, created a large-scale service campaign offering free replacement of problem elements.

The thickness of the paint and varnish coating was tested for several machines. Examples with indecently low 80 microns could not be seen, but thin and too inhomogeneous places were found. In general, all participants with different body colors showed close results.

A really coating layer on the edges of body panels is thin (100-110 microns), but these are not criminal values. However, there are examples of a very significant difference in one body element. The brightest of them is the edges of the front doors. Under the mirrors, the calibrated device shows about 160 microns, and above the handle - 120 microns. Strange figures, given what is robotized at all modern factories. Alas, but these facts remained without comment from the manufacturer.

"Rusty" problems in their time distinguished themselves many autohygigants. In some of these were famous weaknesses on the trunk lid - niches under plastic lining. After a couple of years of operation, rust appeared in these places. This is the second generation and first Mazda CX-9. More brightly distinguished Toyota with rusting hoods on fresh cars. In the first case, with a complaint of the owner in the warranty period and the absence of traces of external influence, the detail was repainted, and in the second, the manufacturer organized a whole service campaign to correct the defect on the soldiers sold by its policies.

Given the many years of experience of such, it is unlikely that problems with the lid of the trunk on the attrates speak about the misses all over the body.
