The third incarnation of the Hyundai Tucson. Hyundai Tucson owner reviews

05.03.2020

Hyundai Tucson first appeared in Russian automotive market back in 2004. Almost immediately this car won the hearts of consumers. The success is explained by comfort combined with excellent cross-country ability, high-quality finishing materials, and all this at prices much lower than those of its main competitors. The car is equipped with an automated, self-connecting all-wheel drive mechanism. The basis of this system is an electrically controlled clutch located in the rear axle drive. On cars equipped with this option, you should not get carried away with prolonged slipping. The system may simply overheat and fail. It is worth noting that this is not a systematic problem. Especially considering that the system can be blocked if necessary. This protects it from damage.

Important! It is worth making sure before purchasing that the rear wheels are connected during the slipping process.

As for the Hyundai Tucson 2008, reviews about it are the most positive. Often cars dated this year have actually only been in use since 2010. This is explained by the 2008 crisis and the drop in demand for crossovers. Sales were minimal. Thousands of cars simply stood locked in warehouses. Dealers refused to take them for sale. Still, if the car was used for two years less, then this cannot but affect its condition. The prices for these cars were already below the market price. And because of this whole situation, they have become even smaller. All this has become the reason that the Hyundai Tucson has become truly affordable for almost all segments of the population.

Reviews

Review by Vasily about Hyundai Tucson 2008, Kemerovo

I read a lot of reviews on the Internet about the Hyundai Tucson and yesterday I also bought this car for myself. In theory, I knew everything that was possible about the Hyundai Tucson 2008 diesel; I read reviews for almost two months. Now this is my tenth car and the first with an automatic transmission. It was necessary to have a car with high ground clearance and all-wheel drive since I often have to drive on some off-road terrain. Moreover, the price should not exceed 600 thousand rubles. I really didn’t want to take out a loan

I didn’t set any filters in search engines: first owner, mileage up to 80 thousand kilometers, and so on. I foreknew it from all my friends and acquaintances. I knew all the advertisements that were there. But unfortunately I haven’t found anything suitable for myself. And finally I found a car that I had never seen before. Of course, it was a bit far to go and look, but my wife convinced me to go anyway (apparently, I was tired of being on the lookout all the time). Automatic transmission, 4VD for two liters, Korean assembly, black velor and black color. True, I didn’t want black. I had a black car before and it was all a bit of a hassle, even minor scratches were visible in any light. Actually I wanted dark green. But the run made me change my mind. It is only 35 thousand kilometers.

As a result, I was the first to call this ad and, after looking at the car, decided to buy it. The owner turned out to be a grandfather born in 1952. I only rode to the dacha and then only occasionally. When I asked about the second set of tires, it turned out that there was none at all. In winter he did not go out at all.

But I’m a realist and not very inclined to believe in stories about grandfathers, and I couldn’t help thinking that this was a complete scam. According to the grandfather's stories, he has three grandchildren and they do not fit in when traveling to the dacha. This is in a crossover.

On the body I found a poorly painted left rear arch and a corner of the bumper on the right. Although the owner didn’t seem to hide it. He says that both the first and second defects appeared when parking in a garage. And now I couldn’t decide what to do with all this or maybe even score. Although the body itself was smooth without unnecessary defects.

We went, drove around, got checked, everything seemed to be fine. I decided to take it. Quite pleased with the purchase. Although I still have the feeling that something is wrong. I'm even ashamed of myself. It’s only my second day of riding, so we’ll see.

Review of Vyacheslav about Hyundai Tucson 2008, Syktyvkar

Good day to all. I've always dreamed of a crossover. I chose from Tucson and Sportage. The mileage is relatively the same, but the equipment and condition in general were very different. The mileage on the Tucson is only 52 thousand km. Good equipment condition is about a four. The only thing that confused me was the trace left by a 4.5 caliber pneumatic bullet. Clearly someone was having fun. The Sportage, as I noticed after inspection, was restored after an accident. There was also a third Tucson, but generally at that price there was simply an inadequate offer. The price is the highest of these three options, but the condition and equipment are poor. The owner clearly did not bother to familiarize himself with the rest of the offers in the city. As a result, I took the first Tucson.

The landing is high. I really liked the visibility. The windshield mirror is simply huge. Before that I rode Ford Fusion. The difference is simply huge. The brakes are soft. It steers quite nicely. So far there are no complaints about the car. Let's see what will happen next.

Alexander's review of Hyundai Tucson 2008, Novosibirsk

After a year and a half of operation and twenty thousand kilometers traveled, I decided to leave my review of Hyundai Tusan.

To be honest, I'm not much of a car connoisseur. Never in my life have I overhauled engines in garages and home auto repair shops. I treat cars strictly as a comfortable means of transportation. In my opinion, a car should be worth its price and be easily repaired by a service center.

Tusan is my fourth car. After sale last car I was thinking about buying a SUV. He best met, we pray, the requirements, namely:

  • Must be roomy;
  • High ground clearance;
  • Not too old;
  • With not too much mileage.

The requirements seem to be quite adequate. Budget approximately 600 thousand. In terms of price-quality ratio best option I couldn't find a Hyundai Tucson. In principle, I'm happy with the car.

Hyundai Tucson is a front- or all-wheel drive SUV in the compact segment, combining an attractive design, a practical and functional interior, modern technical features and a good level of equipment... Its main the target audience– urban residents with above-average income (regardless of age and gender), who periodically leave the metropolis...

The Hyundai Tucson SUV in its third incarnation, the predecessor of which was known in Russia and Europe under the name ix35, made its official debut in 2015 - at the March automobile show in Geneva (although its preliminary premiere took place a month before this event in Berlin). The car has surpassed the previous model in all respects - it has become larger, more beautiful, more powerful and more technologically advanced.

In April 2018, at the New York International Auto Show, the premiere of a restyled all-terrain vehicle took place, which was slightly “refreshed” in appearance, received a thoroughly redesigned interior decoration and received new equipment. The five-door couldn’t do without technical updates – in tandem with diesel engine separated the 8-speed automatic transmission (instead of the 6-speed unit).

“Tussan” looks like a real sturdier with a relief design and harmonious outlines, perceived as very “European”. The signature cascading radiator grille, aggressive lighting with LED elements extending far into the wings, and a sculpted bumper give the car’s “face” boldness and expressiveness, hinting at its sporty character.

The sides of the body are no less stylishly designed - the falling contours of the roof, tending to meet the rising line of the “window sill”, powerful contours of the wheel arches and elegant stamping, emphasizing the dynamism of the SUV even in static conditions.

The designers' inspiration did not ignore the lean stern - elegant wide lights, flowing lines and dual pipes exhaust system trapezoidal configuration.

The "third" Hyundai Tucson is a representative of the community compact crossovers: 4475 mm in length, 1850 mm in width and 1645 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2670 mm. Minimum ground clearance car is 182 mm.

Depending on the modification, its “combat” weight varies from 1454 to 1854 kg.

Inside, the third generation Tussan has a strict, classic and modern design, and at the same time it is well designed in ergonomic terms. Multifunctional steering wheel with clearly defined relief, informative instruments with a 4.2-inch “window” on-board computer and a massive front panel with a protruding 7-inch screen and a stylish climate control unit in the center - in terms of interior decoration korean crossover capable of “fighting” even with more status cars. That's just in basic configuration everything is much more modest.

The interior of the Hyundai Tucson is available in three color options, and it is made mainly from high-quality finishing materials, although there are also hard plastics. “Top” versions “show off” genuine leather with perforated inserts and decorative elements “like metal”.

The front seats of the SUV have a comfortable and friendly profile and a wide range of adjustments, but their support on the sides is poorly developed. The “gallery” is also in complete order - sufficient space in all directions, an adjustable backrest angle, separate “climate” air ducts, and on expensive solutions there is also dual-mode heating.

In the stowed position, the cargo compartment of the third-generation Tussan can accommodate up to 488 liters of luggage, and this is taking into account the full-size spare tire in the underground.

The back of the rear sofa is transformed into a pair of unequal parts (6 to 4), fitting into a horizontal platform and bringing the useful volume to 1478 liters.

For the “third” Hyundai Tucson 2019 model year on Russian market There are three engines to choose from, a similar number of gearboxes and two types of drive:

  • Engine compartment basic modifications occupied by a petrol 2.0-liter “four” with a distributed power system, the output of which is 150 Horse power at 6200 rpm and 192 Nm of possible torque at 4000 rpm. It is assisted by a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, front or four-wheel drive.
Depending on the modification, such a “Tussan” overcomes the starting jerk to 100 km/h in 10.3-11.8 seconds, accelerates to 180-186 km/h and on average “eats” 7.9-8.3 liters of fuel in mixed driving mode.
  • The “top” gasoline option is a 1.6-liter unit with turbocharging and direct delivery of the combustible mixture, generating 177 “mares” at 5500 rpm and 265 Nm of torque in the range from 1500 to 4500 rpm.
In combination with a 7-speed robot with two clutches and an all-wheel drive transmission, it provides the car with a maximum speed of 201 km/h, acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds and a “rated” consumption of 7.5 liters.
  • The third “release” of the Hyundai Tucson is equipped with a diesel unit – a 2.0-liter “direct” turbo engine, the bins of which have 185 horsepower (at 4000 rpm) and 400 Nm of thrust, produced in the range from 1750 to 2750 rpm. It is equipped exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The speedometer needle on a diesel crossover reaches the first three-digit digit after 9.5 seconds, and stops only when it reaches 201 km/h. For every “hundred” of travel, he spends only 6 liters of diesel fuel.

All-wheel drive on the “Korean” is implemented according to a standard scheme for crossovers - an electro-hydraulic clutch is responsible for selecting torque to the rear wheels, regulating the amount of traction on the front and rear axles. Under normal conditions, the potential distribution automatically changes in the range from 100:0 to 60:40, but the clutch can be closed forcibly, dividing the torque between the wheels “fraternally”.

The third generation Tussant is based on a seriously modernized platform from its predecessor with a transversely mounted power unit And independent suspension on both axles – MacPherson struts at the front and multi-link design with stabilizer lateral stability behind.

The steering system of the crossover flaunts a rack-and-pinion mechanism, which is complemented by electric amplifier with variable characteristics.

The brakes on all wheels are disc brakes (ventilated on the front axle), and they are assisted by modern systems– ABS, EBD, ESP and others.

On the Russian market, the third-generation restyled Hyundai Tucson is sold in six trim levels to choose from – “Primary”, “Family”, “Lifestyle”, “Dynamic”, “High-Tech” and “High-Tech plus”.

A crossover in the basic version with a 150-horsepower engine, manual transmission and front-wheel drive transmission costs from 1,399,000 rubles (the surcharge for a 6-automatic transmission is 70,000 rubles). Its equipment includes: six airbags, air conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels, ABS, ESP, fabric upholstery, a media center with a 5-inch screen, a light sensor, an audio system with six speakers, heated front seats, four electric windows, cruise control and other equipment.

An all-terrain vehicle with a 2.0-liter “four” and all-wheel drive costs from 1,569,000 rubles (“Family”), for a diesel modification you will have to pay at least 1,769,000 rubles, a version with a 177-horsepower turbo engine will cost from 1,919,000 rubles ( the last two are from the “Lifestyle” solution), and the “top” option cannot be purchased for less than 2,089,000 rubles.

The most “equipped” car can boast of: electric and ventilated front seats, heated rear sofa, leather interior, dual-zone climate control, multimedia system with a 7-inch display, heated steering wheel, panoramic roof, blind spot monitoring, auto-braking system, rear view camera, 19-inch rollers, LED optics and some other bells and whistles.

I bought the car in March 2008. But, of course, like any motorist, I was pretty worried about what kind of car to take, considering that I only had a certain amount of money on hand, it was necessary to almost exactly reliable car, which is adapted to Russian roads. To do right choice I created a table in which I indicated the necessary specifications, options, well, at the very bottom I listed the cars that attracted my attention, and these were Mazda 3ka, Hyundai Elantra, Opel Astra, Kia Sid.

I won’t describe all my agony of choice, but in the end I decided that I would buy Sid (because then I liked the relationship between cost and stuffing in this car), but the only thing that upset me was the ground clearance, since the car had just recently appeared on the market, which means that the manufacturer has not yet dealt with all the “childhood diseases”. Therefore, after consulting a little more, we decided to increase the amount we could spend on buying a car and decided to buy a Hyundai Tucson ( front-wheel drive, Mechanics). I looked through auto opinions, forums and realized that the car was nothing like that.

The car is dynamic, only if it exceeds 4 thousand. speed, the speed does not pick up so quickly; at lower speeds the engine is a little weak. If you are driving on the highway at a speed of 80 to 100, then you need to prepare first if you want to overtake, because the speed does not pick up very intensively, but in the city the dynamics are very good. From standard tires There is a lot of noise, but in general, in terms of noise, the car is of course normal. Then there was another moment, when I was already picking up the car, I didn’t pay attention to the fact that the hood did not have heat and sound insulation. And in general, I became aware that it was missing after I was looking through information about the car on one of the forums. The stiffness of the suspension is quite satisfactory, i.e. It doesn’t go crazy when cornering, its behavior is similar to the Elantra. The interior is spacious, especially cool in the back, it’s so spacious, I compared it to the Santa Fe, so it’s exactly the same, only with luggage compartment circumcised. Now, if only the armrest were bigger and flimsy. Well, velor upholstery is also not very practical, because all the dirt sticks and vacuuming is not very convenient. You can somehow bring it back to normal only with the help of brushes with Velcro. In terms of lighting, everything is cool here too. The climate also increases comfort during the trip, fairly fast cooling and heating, and the good news is that there is no fogging of the windows. The car was equipped with audio preparation, then the head unit was installed. device, chose ZhVS.

Pros of the car: ground clearance, as for me, 10 liters is a very economical indicator.

Disadvantages of the car: when you start to climb, the wheels begin to slip.

I can say with complete confidence that the money they want for the car is really worth it. By the way, I wouldn’t recommend you buy a 2.7 liter engine because in terms of dynamics, it’s not that big, but in terms of appetite, you can go broke with a 2.7 Tushkan.

Tucson ("Tussan" or, as we called it, "Tushkan") has quite short story. It had only one generation, which was produced from 2004 to 2009. Its continuation was the Hyundai ix35, which completely changed its name and design in order to distance itself from its “gray” ancestor. What's surprising, "brother" Kia Sportage remained true to his roots, and lost little because of it.

These cars began to be supplied to Russia only in 2005, and before that they were imported bypassing dealers, and such copies were coming from all over the world: from the USA, Europe and Korea. When the cars went official, at first they only had gasoline engines(2 and 2.7 liters), all-wheel drive, manual or automatic transmission. Since 2007, single-wheel drive versions and diesel engines began to be imported.

Offers on the market

Tucson sold very well - hence the large number of offers on the secondary market. 70% of cars have all-wheel drive, and in 30% the engine only turns the front axle. 60% of all cars on the market have an automatic transmission, "on the handle" - about 40%. As for engines, 87% of cars run on gasoline and 13% on diesel fuel.

Engine

Gasoline engines are generally reliable, be it an in-line 2-liter “four” with 140 hp. or 2.7-liter V6 with 173 hp. Both of them digest our gasoline perfectly and do not have any chronic problems. True, with the V6 you will have no alternative all-wheel drive and automatic transmission, and with the “younger” engine you can choose both the drive and transmission. The timing belt on engines must be changed after a mileage of 60,000 km and it is better to do this together with the replacement tension roller. It is necessary to flush the fuel system twice as often.

The 175-horsepower “six” is paired with an “automatic”, which, contrary to the archaic four-speed, provides the ability to change gears manually. But the parallel start wins the Tucson over and over again! Both in manual mode and in automatic mode. What's the matter? In the settings of the accelerator, which is sharper on Hyundai, and damped on Kia. So it turns out that at the very beginning Sportage loses those few meters, which it is then unable to gain back.

Kolesa.ru, 2005

You can distinguish “Russian” diesel from diesel imported from Europe only by VIN number, but know that a car from the Old World drives faster. Such cars have a turbine with variable geometry, which increases engine output. The heavy fuel version has problems with fuel system, or rather, injectors and fuel injection pumps. Moreover, the first ones can be cleaned, but the second one will most likely have to be replaced as an assembly. And don’t forget to change it every second service. air filter fuel tank- this is the peculiarity of the machine.

Transmission

Torque on vehicles with a 4WD formula is transmitted by default to the front wheels. Only when necessary, the BorgWarner electromagnetic clutch can automatically transfer up to 50% of the torque to the rear axle. You can also forcefully lock the clutch with a button, but remember that all 4 wheels of the Tucson can only spin up to 40 km/h. The clutch itself is reliable and should not cause problems if the previous driver did not abuse off-road driving and slipping in the snow. A simple diagnostic method is to inspect the outside of the coupling for oil leaks, which indicate a “broken” oil seal.
In automatic mode, the Borg-Warner Torque-On-Demand transmission sends 99% of the torque to the front axle, and the car is only suitable for driving on slippery roads or hard-packed dirt roads. Rear axle it is connected when the front wheels slip using an electromagnetic clutch, and the moment of connection is not always predictable, and is also accompanied by a noticeable push. However, this does not affect the reliability of control, since even when the clutch is activated during a turn, the Tucson clearly maintains its trajectory.

The clutch in a five-speed manual transmission lasts approximately 100,000 km and is replaced as a set. There are no complaints about the automatic transmission, a simple four-speed hydromechanical and very reliable design. However, in the first years, dealers replaced a decent number of gearboxes on the 2.7 engine under warranty. Due to inappropriate firmware, during kickdown on a powerful V6, the entire clutch package failed. Then the software in those automatic transmissions that did not have time to “die” was changed during the recall campaign, and the problem was resolved. It is curious that, according to the experts, V6 automatic transmissions, after modification, began to work even smoother than with 2-liter engines. Moreover, according to mechanics, it works much smoother on a V6 than on a 2-liter engine. The oil in an automatic transmission must be changed every 45,000 km, and in a manual transmission every 90,000 km.

Suspension

From almost all Tucson owners without exception, you can hear complaints about knocking in the chassis. This, unfortunately, is a problem with the machine, and there is no cure for it. It’s just that the silent blocks here are quite weak, especially where the front suspension subframe is attached. Even if you replace all the rubber bands with new ones, in a year or two everything will happen again, so many drivers simply got used to it. The shock absorbers also knock, most often the front ones, but they don’t leak, and you shouldn’t rush to change them right away. The struts themselves at the front (MacPherson) and rear (multi-link) rarely require replacement until 80,000 - 100,000 km. For careful drivers, the rack can “drive” 150,000 km. Change brake pads Both front and rear require every second maintenance, and brake discs every fourth.

Body and interior

In the cabin, the main nuisance is squeaks. After all, the car is a budget car, so the plastic is hard, and the fit of the parts is not ideal. Most often, the armrest, ventilation nozzles, glove compartment and walls in the trunk begin to creak. There are also problems with the Tushkan with tightness, so first of all check the eyeglass case area for water leaks.

1 / 3

2 / 3

3 / 3

The very first glance at the car immediately confuses all the cards. The robust Tucson, protected “all around” by armor made of unpainted plastic, is perceived as a working option. With it, you are not afraid to leave the city asphalt and venture on an off-road adventure without the risk of damaging the body.

Kolesa.ru, 2005

But there are no complaints about the body, or rather its color. The Tucson is painted with high quality and does not begin to rust by itself before the age of 10 years. If you see corrosion, then most likely this element was subjected to external influence (impact) and the previous owner painted it poorly. In isolated cases, drivers noted the formation of rust in the hatch area, so if you have the maximum configuration, inspect the hatch very carefully.

Electrical equipment

There are no obvious problems here either, since all the electrics are simple. Among the little things, it is worth noting the fibbing on-board computer, which underestimates real consumption fuel, as well as incorrect operation of the outdoor thermometer. Drivers say it's heated rear window The topmost heating thread often stops working. Usually this problem“treated” during the warranty period, but sometimes it occurred after its end.

Maintenance costs from official dealers

Tucson maintenance prices are average in the market, routine maintenance They differ only in the period for changing the oil in the transmission: in automatic transmissions it is necessary to change every 45,000 km, and in manual transmissions half as often. We present the prices for maintenance in total for work and spare parts.
Mileage List of works Cost of work, rub.

Prices for some spare parts

I decided to write a review about the Hyundai Tucson (hereinafter referred to as Tushkan). In this review I will describe my impressions of Tushkan and will not compare it with my previous cars that I drove. I will divide the review into several parts, for ease of writing and reading (I hope to read in parts, more convenient than continuous text).

As of the day of writing this review, I have owned Tushkan for two years and have driven 70,000 km.

Selection and purchase.

Having moved for permanent residence from Vladivostok to St. Petersburg, I immediately decided to buy a car, as I was used to a personal car. The selection criteria were as follows: SUV and unpretentiousness of the car. They advised me to watch Jerboa. I read a bunch of reviews about them on the Internet, I realized that the car is unpretentious and inexpensive to maintain, which was a plus in this situation, I saw that there are a lot of them driving around the city streets, which is also very good! As a result, I purchased Tushkan, produced in 2008, in good condition with a mileage of 75,000 km, front-wheel drive (this is of course not very good, but that’s how it turned out). I was the second owner in Russia, I’ll say right away that the car was brought from the USA, which scared me at first, but looking at the condition, the feeling of danger went away... and has not returned to this day!

Exterior.

To be honest, I didn’t particularly like Tushkan’s appearance, especially its front part, but over time I became familiar with it, got used to it and began to like it. Very good headlights, if only they had xenon installed, they would shine even better! I really like the back door, you can open the whole door, or just the glass, this is especially convenient when you load a lot of things. The rear view mirrors are small, like passenger car, of course I’m used to them, but on an SUV, it seems to me there should be bigger mirrors.

Interior.

I like the interior, nothing special, but nice and cozy. The fabric interior, instruments and buttons are located in their places, conveniently. Comfortable armrest between the driver and passenger seat. The rear seat also has a folding armrest with two cup holders, which is convenient for rear passengers. On the front door there are four buttons for power windows, a button for locking windows, a button for closing and opening doors and adjusting mirrors, everything is convenient, except for the function of closing the driver's window, the button has an automatic opening mode, but there is no automatic closing mode, this is strange!

The panel is made of plastic of average quality, but looks quite good, does not creak, but is a little scratched. There is a clock on the panel that operates in two modes 12/24. These modes are switched by long pressing the R button. The front seats are comfortable, at least for me with a height of 174 cm, but they are not height adjustable, which my wife does not like. The glove box is large enough to fit A4 format. There is an eyeglass case, a small box under the armrest, perhaps intended for discs, but I have everything in there. The rear seats are also comfortable (I drove them a couple of times), the backrest is adjustable, it is convenient for passengers and when you load the trunk with things (put the backrest almost vertically and the volume of the trunk increases), the rear seats also lower forward, and the trunk turns into a very large and roomy one (a pack of laminate along the length is included, the load is 12 packs). The rear seat can be folded in a 40/60 split. There are large pockets in the doors in which you can store anything or put rubbish in long trips. These pockets have recesses for bottles; bottles up to 1 liter fit well.

Engine and automatic.

Engine 2 liters 142 hp. With. It’s enough for moderate everyday driving around the city, you won’t get too excited on the road and you won’t play checkers, but this is not that kind of car. I often drive outside the city, the average comfortable speed is 100-120, you can of course drive more, but the consumption increases. To overtake, of course, the pedal should be pressed down, and then the car will first think whether you need it, but then it will growl and go to overtake! Still, the two-liter engine is paired with a fairly old four-speed Japanese automatic transmission.

The engine is reliable, unpretentious, easy to maintain (you can even do some of it yourself). Fuel consumption in the city is 12-13 liters. On the highway 8-9 (but depends on the intensity of overtaking, if you overtake trucks very often it can increase). Absorbs 92 gasoline.

The automatic is a four-speed, thoughtful, reliable and repairable.

Service.

After purchasing Tushkan in September 2013, I only changed the oil, oil filter and air filter. I pour oil Shell Helix HX8 Synthetic 5W-30. I change it every 7-9 thousand kilometers.

A year later with a mileage of 112 thousand km. I changed the timing belt with all the rollers. The price of the original set (timing belt + rollers) is 3 thousand and replacement is 1.5 thousand.

At the same time, an unplanned breakdown of my Jerboa occurred. I began to notice that when parking near the house with the wheels fully turned, the belt began to whistle, and the steering wheel became heavier (the power steering began to disappear). I realized that the problem was with the power steering belt. And that day (when I was getting ready to go to the service center after work so they could look in detail at what the problem was) on the way to work, on a straight section of the road my power steering completely disappeared, and dashboard All the icons light up and the car stops. When trying to start...zero success! I didn’t have time to get to the car service center myself! They called a tow truck and brought me to a service station, and on the way I bought 3 belts (for the generator, for the air conditioner, and for the power steering). If you take the car to a service station, let them change the straps right away, it’s not a big deal, especially since I was going to change them, but a little later. As a result, the verdict was a breakdown - the generator mounting bolt was cut off, and it hung on the belts. Everything was done and everything works to this day.

I will say right away that when changing belts, after a week or two the belt on the generator stretches, and it should be tightened; the fact that it has stretched will be indicated again by the whistling of the belt when turning the steering wheel.

The next thing I did with Tushkan was to replace the standard radio with a Supra radio with DVD, USB, AUX and the ability to connect a rear view camera (gifted by my wife on February 23). Since it is possible to connect a rear view camera, I decided to buy and install it too (the camera cost 1,500 rubles). The standard radio had an AUX function, and the factory AUX jack itself was on the panel (visible in the photographs). There is nothing complicated in the process of replacing the radio, there are a lot of articles on the Internet about this, you just need to buy an adapter in advance to connect the radio itself, from a standard plug to a European one and an adapter to the antenna. The camera is placed in place of one of the license plate lights, connected to the backlight wires, and an additional wire is drawn to the rear light, namely to the wiring to the light bulb reverse, but I connected it to the reverse wiring through a 5 A fuse (just in case of fire). The most difficult thing in connecting a reversing camera is to stretch the video wire with a tulip at the end through the rubber corrugation between the rear door and the body, along which the main wiring goes. Difficult, but possible! And so, when the camera is connected, life is somehow more colorful, with bonuses like a rear view camera!

With a mileage of 125 thousand km. (1.5 years of ownership) it’s time to start working on the chassis, it’s already clicking. I changed the front shock absorbers (the original ones cost 2,500 rubles), shock absorber support cups, front and rear stabilizer struts, ball joints(2 pcs.), front and rear stabilizer bushings, steering tip, brake pads (front and rear). I paid approximately 11 thousand for all the parts. All parts are original.

This summer (with a mileage of 138 thousand km.) I decided to change fuel filter. After reading on the Internet how to do this, I decided to do it myself, and in fact it turned out to be not difficult. The fuel filter in Tushkan is installed in the tank, and the hatches into the tank are located under rear seats. I bought a fuel filter (RUB 1,200), two fuel pump filters (RUB 467 and RUB 182) and an air filter for the fuel tank absorber (RUB 362) (I didn’t know that this existed, I read it on the Internet, it’s installed behind the trim rear wheel, near the tank neck). Replacing all of this took about three hours, without rushing. I decided to coincide with this independent maintenance by replacing the spark plugs (I bought the original ones for 150 rubles apiece), cleaning throttle valve and cleaning the sensor idle move. There is nothing complicated about it, I cleaned it all with carburetor cleaner, there was a lot of carbon deposits!

My immediate plans are to stop by a service station to see what crunches in front when I turn the steering wheel slowly. I think the CV joint needs to be changed. Also changing the fluid in the machine and the brake fluid. Installing struts on the front struts. I read it in one of the reviews, a person installed one and is happy, he says that the handling has become better, and the asking price is ridiculous for such a thing, only 1200-1300 rubles, the strut is original.

P.S. In conclusion, I want to say that after 2 years I am happy with the car. Yes, it's not racing car, and there is no power reserve for quiet overtaking on the highway, the handling leaves much to be desired, but it is unpretentious, and will not drain you of money for repairs and maintenance. For the money it's very good car, considering that this is an SUV. Good luck to everyone on the roads, and good luck in choosing cars!
