Characteristics of the Prado 150 diesel. New Toyota Land Cruiser Prado cars in stock, buy a new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado car

08.01.2022

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado fourth generation, series 150, was introduced in the fall of 2009. The J150 has undergone two restylings - in 2013 and 2017.

The frame mid-size SUV is based on the modernized platform of its predecessor, the Prado 120 series. The Land Cruiser Prado 120 was famous for its legendary endurance and reliability. How are things going with this for the receiver?

Engines

In the arsenal Toyota Prado 150 two naturally aspirated gasoline engines and two 4-cylinder turbodiesels. Gasoline: 4-cylinder with a displacement of 2.7 l / 163 hp. (2TR-FE) and 4-liter V6 / 282 hp. (1GR-FE). Diesel: displacement 3.0 l / 173 hp. (1KD-FTV) and 2.8 l / 177 hp. (1GD-FTV). A 3-liter diesel engine with a Euro-5 class DPF filter developed 190 hp.

Gasoline engines are generally reliable and do not cause problems. Owners of 2.7 liter petrol engines often note the appearance of vibrations at speed idle move in winter.

Owners of 4-liter units with a mileage of more than 40-60 thousand km in winter are often faced with the need to replace the valve for supplying secondary air to the exhaust manifold (for quick warm-up catalyst). When a malfunction occurs, the warning lights come on, traction is lost, and the engine may stall while driving. Reason: accumulation and freezing of condensate. If there is a problem, official services will replace the valve under warranty and reflash the engine ECU.

However, by 100,000 km the valve often becomes completely sour. Sometimes it can be developed. Due to condensation, the system pump may also fail. The cost of the valve is about 15,000 rubles, and the pump - about 10,000 rubles. The 2.7-liter unit for some markets was also equipped with a system for supplying secondary air to the catalyst. Unlike the 4-liter V6, it uses one rather than two valves.

Owners of diesel versions often notice jerking and decreased traction when increasing speed above 100-110 km/h. Such manifestations are not systemic and do not always recur. Subsequently, the manufacturer released updated firmware for the engine and automatic transmission, which completely eliminates the problem.

Besides, diesel models were subject to a technical bulletin, according to which, if starting is difficult and engine power decreases in conditions low temperatures replacement is provided fuel filter and installation of fuel line heating.

The pump of 3-liter turbodiesels sometimes gives up after 100,000 km. A new high-quality analogue is available for 2,500 rubles. And after 200,000 km are marked rare cases need to replace the turbocharger. The cost of a new original turbine is 135,000 rubles. For her restoration to specialized service They will ask for 20,000 rubles.

But the biggest trouble can happen in the interval of 100-150 thousand km. The piston (usually the fourth and third cylinders) may crack and damage the cylinder walls. Required major renovation engine costing over 100,000 rubles. As a rule, the attack affects 1KD-FTV / 173 hp that have undergone chip tuning. Toyota modified the fuel injectors and pistons several times (the shape changed), but relapses occurred even after the update.

However, there are many examples that have traveled over 400-500 thousand km, without problems with pistons and turbines.

The diesel 2.8 appeared on the offer list in June 2015. There is still little information on it, but there are no fatal malfunctions.

Transmission

With a mileage of more than 10-20 thousand km, some owners of the Prado 150 note the appearance of kicks when stopping. In most cases, it is possible to get rid of the shocks after injection of the cardan shafts and crosspieces. If maintenance does not help, then the cardan shafts need to be replaced. Many dealers refuse to replace it under warranty.

Key components of the system all-wheel drive by and large reliable. But there are isolated cases of damage during slipping (when overcoming severe off-road conditions). First of all, this happens on cars with a 3-liter turbodiesel. For example, the transfer case or front gearbox fails (143,000 rubles).

The 5-speed automatic A750F, subject to regular oil updates, is almost eternal. The same is true for the 4-speed automatic A340F/A343F, which was paired exclusively with the petrol 2.7. After both automatic boxes gave way to a more modern 6-band automatic transmission A761F/A960F. The mileage of the new boxes is still short, so it is too early to discuss reliability.

Chassis

Rolling the Prado to starboard is a common occurrence. If there is a misalignment, authorized services replace the front springs, in accordance with the official bulletin.

Body distortions can also be caused by the KDSS system, which is an active anti-roll bar. To eliminate the roll, you need to calibrate the pressure in the system. KDSS is a concern from time to time. In addition to distortions, the hydraulic cylinders of the system may knock or leak (50,000 rubles apiece). Some owners ultimately decided to dismantle the system, installing conventional stabilizers instead. It's worth noting that KDSS doesn't bother everyone.

Bushings front stabilizer go no more than 40-50 thousand km, rear - 50-70 thousand km. Toyota's touching concern is touching: if you apply during the warranty period, replacement is free. A small thing, but nice: the cost of the bushing is about 250-350 rubles.

Front wheel bearings(3,000 rubles for the original) can hum when the mileage is more than 60-100 thousand km. According to official service workers, they replace them with modified bearings with a longer service life. There are cases where it is necessary to replace leaking front shock absorbers - after 50-80 thousand km.

Owners of the first Toyota Prado 150 often complained of a grinding or knocking sound in the steering column. The reason lay in the retaining ring; later they began to install a modernized ring of a new shape. And yet, at higher mileage, due to a knock in the steering wheel, it was necessary to replace the lower steering shaft, steering shaft crosspieces or steering column.

The pneumatic system is very durable. Up to 200,000 km there will definitely be no problems with it.

Body and interior

The paintwork on the Prado body is not resistant enough to external influences, as on most current cars. Chips on the hood are not uncommon, and the metal immediately begins to bloom. Sometimes red dots can be found on the trunk door.

It very quickly loses its luster and the chrome coating of the radiator grille and trim on the rear door begins to peel off. In winter, the tailgate latch often stops functioning: moisture gets under the shock absorber cover and tears it off when it is opened.

With age, body supports give out - bushings rot, and silent blocks sag. The front supports have to be updated more often. The cost of a complete body kit is about 9,000 rubles.

Some Toyota Land Cruiser Prado owners are puzzled by the “shaky light” xenon headlights. Fogging of the front view camera optics is also common.

Extraneous sounds in the interior of an SUV are not uncommon, especially in an unheated interior. The general scourge of diesel versions is a cricket in the right bottom corner windshield. One of the reasons is the plastic trim on the outside at the bottom of the glass. The creaking goes away after gluing it. Dealers are well aware of the problem. Another reason is vibration of the right front fender. In this case, it is necessary to bend the metal profile on the inside of the wing. Some owners note the presence of creaks in driver's seat and rattling of the rear seat back.

Contribution to “misperception” Toyota Land The Cruiser Prado suffers from the poor quality of the leather upholstery on the seats, steering wheel and silver plastic inserts on the steering wheel and automatic transmission knob. They acquire signs of wear relatively quickly: after 20-40 thousand km.

At long runs There are cases where a whistle appears when the heater motor is turned on. Due to the destruction of the fragile plastic stopper, the front passenger's climate control knob may fall through.

Sometimes you also have to change the steering column cable (snail) - the buttons on the steering wheel stop working and errors appear in the security systems. The original snail will cost 18,000 rubles, the Chinese analogue is much more affordable - from 1,000 rubles.

Mentions of generator malfunctions were noted at mileages of more than 400-500 thousand km.

Conclusion

To summarize, we can say that Land Cruiser Prado has practically not lost its former reliability: gasoline engines, transmission and chassis do not let down. There are no problems with electrics either. Incidents with diesel engines are very alarming. At the same time, the quality of the paintwork on the hood and interior trim materials is disappointing.

Toyota Land Cruiser 150 Prado is a five-door mid-size SUV and truly legendary model Japanese automaker, professing “classical values”: frame construction, permanent all-wheel drive and solid rear axle... It can boast high level comfort, strong and reliable technology and excellent maneuverability...

The fourth generation car (in the J150 body) made its world debut in September 2009 (on the stage of the Frankfurt Motor Show) - compared to its predecessor, it not only changed significantly externally and internally, but also improved technically, became more comfortable and safer and received new equipment.

At the end of August 2013, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado underwent a “planned” update - its exterior was significantly corrected, the interior was revised, and the power units, expanded the list of options and reconfigured the suspension to improve handling and stability on the road.

The next modernization overtook the SUV exactly two years later, but it was exclusively technical nature: the car has a new 2.8-liter diesel engine, 6-speed automatic transmission and improved equipment.

In September 2017, at an international show in Frankfurt, a restyled car was presented to the general public, which retained the familiar “filling”, but received a more pleasant exterior design with a front end “in the style of the older Land Cruiser 200,” an improved interior with new equipment and improved electronics.

The appearance of the Toyota Land Cruiser 150 Prado can be called classic - that’s exactly how it should look real SUV: quite attractive, lean and respectable.

From the front he looks at the world with a frown LED headlights complex shape, merging with them with a chrome radiator grille with thick vertical slats and a powerful bumper, but at the back it has less status (and even utilitarian) outlines - simple lights and a huge trunk lid.

In profile, the car looks powerful, brutal and completely recognizable - its characteristic silhouette is successfully emphasized by the long hood, the developed “muscles” of the rounded-square wheel arches, the “window sill” line that rises sharply upward to the rear, and the steep stern.

The “fourth” Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is a mid-size SUV that is 4840 mm long, 1845 mm high and 1855 mm wide. The wheelbase of the car extends to 2790 mm, and its ground clearance is 215 mm.

When equipped, the five-door weighs from 2095 to 2165 kg, and its full mass ranges from 2850 to 2990 kg.

The interior of the “150th” SUV is designed to match the exterior – it looks attractive, brutal and thoroughbred.

At the driver’s workplace there is a large four-spoke multi-steering wheel and a “smart” instrument cluster with two dials and a 4.2-inch color display of the on-board computer. The monumental center console has a “two-story layout”: on top there is an 8-inch screen for the entertainment and information complex and a laconic “remote control” air conditioning system, and in the lower part is the all-wheel drive transmission control unit.

Inside, the car boasts an excellent level of assembly and high-quality finishing materials (high-quality plastics, wood, metal-look inserts, genuine leather, etc.).

One of the advantages Toyota salon Land Cruiser 150 Prado – a large supply of free space. In front, the SUV is equipped with comfortable seats with widely spaced lateral support bolsters, soft filling and a huge range of adjustments. At the back there is a hospitably profiled sofa with an optimal backrest angle.

The car is also offered with an optional double “gallery” that can accommodate even adult passengers.

The luggage compartment of the car has the correct shape and an impressive volume - 621 liters in the standard position (with a five-seat layout). The rear row of seats folds into two unequal sections into an almost flat area, bringing the capacity to 1934 liters.

The fifth door of this SUV opens to the side (the hinges are located on the right), but small luggage can be loaded through the folding glass. His full-size spare tire is suspended under the bottom, on the street.

For Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2018 model year There are three engines to choose from:

  • The basic versions are equipped with an in-line petrol “four” with a displacement of 2.7 liters and distributed feed fuel, adjustable valve timing and a 16-valve timing system, which generates 163 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 246 Nm of torque at 3900 rpm.
  • The engine compartment of the “top” solutions contains a gasoline 4.0-liter V6 engine of the 1GR-FE family with multi-point “power”, an optimized combustion chamber, 24 valves and phase shifters at the exhaust and intake, producing 249 hp. at 5600 rpm and 381 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm.
  • Diesel cars are equipped with a four-cylinder 1GD-FTV unit with a volume of 2.8 liters, equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger, Common Rail battery injection, an intercooler and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, which develops 177 hp. at 3400 rpm and 420 Nm of peak torque at 1400-2600 rpm.

All engines work together with a 6-speed automatic transmission, but the “junior” petrol and diesel engines in the “base” are given 5- and 6-speed “mechanics”, respectively.

By default, the SUV can boast permanent drive on four wheels (Full-Time TL) with an asymmetrical Torsen differential with rigid locking, reduction gear and three operating modes (H4F; H4L; L4L). IN normal conditions the moment is divided between the axles in a ratio of 40:60, but during movement this proportion can vary from 28:72 to 58:42.

Depending on the version, the maximum “fourth” Toyota Land Cruiser Prado accelerates to 160-175 km/h, reaching the second “hundred” after 9.7-12.7 seconds.

Gasoline cars “destroy” from 10.8 to 11.7 liters of fuel in combined conditions, and diesel cars - about 7.4 liters.

The approach, ramp and departure angles of the SUV are 31, 22 and 25 degrees, respectively, and its ford depth reaches 700 mm (without special preparation).

The Toyota Land Cruiser 150 Prado is based on a steel spar frame. As standard, the car has an independent front suspension with double wishbones, anti-roll bar and passive shock absorbers, as well as continuous rear axle with springs.
“Top” modifications can boast adaptive shock absorbers, rear air suspension with a transverse stabilizer and the KDDS system, which is a deactivated anti-roll bar that is supported on one side by a rigid support, and on the other by a hydraulic cylinder.

There are ventilated disc brakes on all wheels of the SUV, supplemented by ABS, EBD and other assistants, and a power steering system is integrated into its rack and pinion steering complex.

In addition, the car has five driving electronics modes – Normal, Sport, Eco, Sport S and Sport S+ (they change the characteristics of the automatic transmission, steering and optional adaptive suspension).

On Russian market The restyled Toyota Land Cruiser 150 Prado 2017-2018 is sold in six versions - “Classic”, “Standard”, “Comfort”, “Elegance”, “Prestige” and “Lux Safety”.

  • The basic SUV costs from 2,199,000 rubles, but its equipment is not impressive: seven airbags, power steering, power windows on all doors, light sensor, ABS, EBD, BAS, VSC, ERA-GLONASS system, immobilizer, 17-inch steel wheels, air conditioning and some other equipment.
  • ... for a car with an automatic transmission the minimum asking price is 2,596,000 rubles, for a version with diesel engine you will have to pay from 2,853,000 rubles, and a modification with a 249-horsepower unit will cost from 3,205,000 rubles...
  • The “top” configuration of the five-door is offered at a price of 3,886,000 rubles, and its privileges are: three-zone climate control, multimedia system, all-round cameras, 18-inch wheels, rear view camera, all-LED optics, adaptive suspension, cruise control , auto braking system, blind spot and lane monitoring, sign recognition assistant and other “tricks”. It is worth noting that only the most “sophisticated” version is available with a seven-seat interior layout - its cost starts at 3,957,000 rubles.

Debut of the fourth generation Toyota Prado took place in Frankfurt am Main in 2009. And in mid-2012, the car successfully passed a test drive and was appreciated by its fans. Assembly of the Prado in Russia began immediately. By the fall of 2013, the Vladivostok Sollers-Bussan plant had fully developed its capacity. And already in November 2013, Russian Toyota dealers presented the mid-size SUV Land Cruiser Prado 150. Sales started at a price of 1,700,000 rubles, which depends on the configuration option and engine type. The slightly updated car successfully passed the test drive and was closely examined from different angles.

First Generation Land Cruiser Prado was released back in 1987. Since that time, the Prado has gradually become an irreplaceable friend for lovers of luxury driving. “Pradik,” as his admirers dubbed him, has had many glorious pages in its history. I would like to draw attention to the impressive dimensions, powerful shapes and aggressive appearance. In some trim levels, the appearance also includes modern dynamics with sporty elements. In total, the Prado now has 8 types of trim levels: Prestige, Luxury (7 seats), Luxury (5 seats), Sport (5 seats), Sport (7 seats), Comfort and Standard.

Exterior

Having passed the most difficult tests over the years, the 2014 Prado model, along with technical improvements, began to look more elegant; angular shapes were replaced by more streamlined, aerodynamic exterior details. 17-inch alloy wheels give the Toyota Prado more elegance and some ease of movement. The test drive is shown more clearly in the video below.

The body length of the Land Cruiser Prado is 150 - 4780 mm, the wheelbase of the car is 2790 mm. The width of the body shell is 1885 mm (this does not include rear view mirrors). The height varies in the range of 1840 – 1890 mm and depends on the configuration. Ground clearance is 222 mm. The internal track width is 1583 mm. Taking into account the impressive dimensions, the minimum turning radius of the car is pleasantly surprising: along the outer wheel it does not exceed 5.6 meters. The total curb weight of an SUV, depending on the components of the configuration, can be from 2100 to 2550 kg.

In front new SUV The Land Cruiser Prado 150 received original new headlights from Toyota designers. Lighting technology with stylish LED waterfalls daylights in the updated Prado they are harmoniously combined with a massive radiator grille. The radiator grille is given a respectable and beautiful appearance by chrome-trimmed vertical bars and a solid frame around the top and sides. Large fog lights further emphasize the powerful front bumper.

The rear of the body of the new Landcruiser Prado 150 has significant differences from the rear of the pre-restyling Prado. Changed lampshades side lights, the door surface is designed slightly differently luggage compartment, which is framed by a wide chrome strip, it appeared after the alteration.

Interior

Two interior layout options for the Land Cruiser Prado differ in five or seven passenger seats. They are quite comfortable and have a decent level of comfort with quality finishing materials.

Stylish, with modern display and control elements, the central instrument panel gives a feeling of volume. An on-board computer with a color display and intuitive characteristics allows even inexperienced drivers to effectively test vehicle components.

The center console is highlighted by a clear touchscreen for the electronic multimedia system. At the same time, it contains indicators of the status of some vehicle control systems.

The transmission control buttons and selector are located in an unusual, but quite convenient place at the bottom of the console, in front of the gearbox control. Instrument indicators have now become more informative.

In other details, the interior remained the same as in the previous Prado, of course, if you do not focus on the higher quality and modern materials used in the decoration. Comfortable and very comfortable chairs, a decent amount of free space, where people with the largest build can easily accommodate.

We must immediately inform you that the changed appearance and interior design of the new Prado 150 2014 is cosmetic, and the electronic filling of the technically full-fledged SUV has only been slightly modernized by Japanese manufacturers. And is it necessary to change an already perfect technique that has successfully completed a full drive?

The trunk of this SUV deserves special attention. In the basic version, its capacity is 625 cubic meters. cm for load. Folded rear seats, the capacity of the luggage compartment space can be increased to 2000 cubic meters. see. In seven-seat versions of the Prado, the capacity of the trunk is reduced to 104 liters.

Specifications

As mentioned at the beginning of the review, the Toyota Landcruiser Prado 150 is available in three versions power plants, of which two are gasoline. The base engine is the reliable four-cylinder petrol engine of the 2TR FE model. Its displacement is 2695 cm3 (2.7 l), which, according to tests, is quite enough for off-road use.

Basic engine configuration:

♦ 16-valve mechanism with chain drive DOHC type.

♦ Electronic variable valve timing system of the VVT-i type, which is capable of developing power up to 165 hp. (122 kW) at maximum speed 5200 per minute. Peak torque is achieved already at 3700 rpm and falls at around 246 Nm.

♦ Gearbox - 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

2.7-liter power unit With manual transmission According to test characteristics, it consumes about 12.3 liters of AI-95 gasoline in the urban cycle. When equipped with an automatic transmission, gasoline consumption is 12.7 liters. The manufacturer does not advertise the dynamics of acceleration to “hundreds”, but during a test drive it can be 18 seconds up to the car’s maximum speed of 167 km/h.

4.0 liter flagship engine for the Land Cruiser Prado 150 looks much more impressive. This is a V-six model 1GRFE. It uses a 24-valve chain gas distribution system of the DOHC type with electronic system Dual WT-i phase changes. Maximum power of 285 hp. With. the engine develops at 5400 rpm. Moreover, the upper torque limit of 387 Nm is achieved already at 4350 rpm.

The transmission for the flagship is provided only in the form of a 5-speed automatic. In this ratio, the starting jerk to “hundreds” occurs in 9.1 seconds. The test results fully comply with the required Euro-V standards, while the engine demonstrates excellent environmental friendliness and efficiency. Average consumption fuel (gasoline) according to a test drive in the urban cycle - within 11.5 liters.

Diesel power unit brand 1KD FTV occupies an intermediate position in its characteristics between the above-mentioned gasoline engines. Four in-line cylinders have a working volume of 2982 cm3 (3 l) and are capable of developing a power of about 170 hp. With. (125 kW), which, according to the test, is already achieved at 3400 rpm. Peak torque is set at 410 Nm and maintained in the range of 1650-2800 rpm. The diesel engine is equipped with a 16-valve DOHC mechanism with a chain drive, an intercooler and a Common Rail system that provides direct injection fuel.

The diesel engine is equipped only with a 5-speed automatic transmission, with which acceleration to 100 km is achieved in 11.7 seconds. Maximum speed Land Cruiser Prado 150 Diesel is 178 km/h. Fuel consumption in the city is about 8.5 liters.

In all of the above trim levels, the Prado has a common permanent all-wheel drive system, which is complemented by a Torsen limited slip differential. Common to all modifications are: traction control system TRC and system directional stability VSC, spar chassis frame with spring-lever independent front suspension and dependent rear. We only note that the “luxury” package offers a replacement rear suspension to pneumatic adaptive AVS. It is represented by three operating modes: Normal, Comfort and for professional drive – the Sport system.

Ventilated disc brakes installed in all configurations on the rear and front axles. Brakes equipped ABS systems, BAS and EBD, a test drive showed their sufficient effectiveness.

Rack and pinion steering

The rack and pinion steering mechanism is complemented by a power amplifier, which is very typical for SUVs. The rack and pinion gear ratio is 18.4, which determines 3 turns of the steering wheel between the extreme positions.

Interesting features of ToyotaLand Cruiser Prado 150

The 2014 model year featured a very off-road-friendly Multi-terrain Select system. True, it is available only in the top versions of the Prado. The next five operating modes are: Rocks (rocks), Loose Rocks (gravel and stones), Rocks and Dirt (rocks and dirt), Mud and Sand (sand and dirt), Modul (potholes and bumps).

It is also worth paying attention to safety: monitoring of “blind spots” using Blins Spot Monitor, seven airbags, rear sensor parking, effective alarm system. The unique TSC system, which controls the driving position of the towed trailer or trailer, deserved a good rating during the test drive.

The starting price of the updated Land Cruiser Prado 150 2014 model year for Russian motorists will be 1.7 million rubles. The price of a top-end car with a sporty twist and a seven-seater interior will be 2,900,000 rubles.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 updated: June 17, 2018 by: dimajp

Price: from 2,499,000 rub.

The 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show presented to the public the second restyling of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with the J150 index. Fans have been waiting for the update for a long time, especially against the backdrop of changes to the classic one, but they were surprised by the second restyle. For those who don’t know, this is also the 4th generation, released in 2009, but has already undergone a second update. Let's see what the Japanese brought new.

Now I'm young

The transformation of the front end has benefited the visual age. associated with “gray hair”, this car became more aggressive, that is, young. They abandoned the downward-sloping headlights in favor of a classic diode design. The radiator grille was completely changed, the chrome edging of which rests on top of the optics.

The Pradika bumper was completely changed, equipping it with convex shapes and a recessed fog lamp, framed in chrome. We installed a hood from a Kruzak, although they are not interchangeable, but it added aggression.

At the rear of the SUV, the bumper was slightly changed, interior design lanterns, and left everything else. There are no changes on the side, except for the shape of the sills.

Easy change of dimensions:

  • length – 4840 mm;
  • width – 1855 mm;
  • height – 1845 mm;
  • wheelbase – 2790 mm;
  • ground clearance - 215 mm.

Innovations in the Prado salon 2018-2019

Toyota has always lagged behind others when it comes to electronics because it is considered more conservative by fans. You won’t see anything new here; there are easy steps into the future so as not to remain a “dinosaur”.

The dashboard of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado J150 was equipped with a new 4.2-inch display on-board computer with different information. In general, the entire tidy has changed, but these are small things in the form of scales. The Toyota Touch 2 multimedia display is now 8-inch. Near the gearshift lever, buttons for controlling driving modes have appeared when ordering adaptive shock absorbers.

The little 200 got its 4-spoke multi-steering wheel, which good configurations becomes partially wooden. By the way, the center console has become lower by 25 mm, which, according to the Japanese, improves visibility.

The seats were left the same, still 5 seats and two more optional seats in the back. New options include ventilation in the front and climate control in the rear. There is also a lot of space, they even installed an adjustment for the rear sofa.

The trunk remains the same – 621 liters. You can fold the rear bench to get 1934 liters, but you still get a high threshold. The spare tire is not under the floor, but attached to the bottom.

An addition to the Pradika 2018-2019 electronics was the Toyota Safety package with various systems: adaptive cruise control, lane sensor with hold, driver fatigue sensor, road sign recognition, blind spot monitoring, automatic braking before an obstacle.

Specifications

Type Volume Power Torque Overclocking Maximum speed Number of cylinders
Petrol 2.7 l 163 hp 246 H*m 12.3 sec. 165 km/h 4
Petrol 4.0 l 249 hp 381 H*m 9.7 sec. 175 km/h V6
Diesel 2.8 l 177 hp 450 H*m 12.7 sec. 175 km/h 4

The line of engines was left the same; in fact, these are modified engines of the previous generation. The design is simple, so they will serve for a long time without serious problems.

  1. 2TR-FE – base motor Toyota equipment Land Cruiser Prado 2.7-liter with VVT-i system. The atmospheric installation produces 163 horsepower at 5200 rpm, which is rather small for a 2-ton SUV. The maximum torque of 246 H*m is achieved at 3900 rpm. It’s rather weak, because acceleration to hundreds is above 12 seconds.
  2. 1GD-FTV – the next one diesel engine by configuration. There is a variable geometry turbine and the familiar Common Rail system. As a result, at 3400 rpm, 177 horsepower is achieved, and from 1600 rpm the entire torque is available - 450 H*m. The dynamics have not improved much, but the huge torque shows itself well off-road.
  3. 1GR-FE is a top-end 4-liter V6, installed on the Prado’s predecessor. In fact, the installation produces 282 horses, but it was strangled to 249 horses and 381 H*m of torque in order to pass taxes. The dynamics here are acceptable - 9.7 seconds.

Off-road

The base engine in the minimum configuration comes with a 5-speed manual transmission gears, it and all other engines are optionally equipped with a 6-speed automatic. All-wheel drive Full-Time TL with Torsen locking differential. They also left the downshift. We expanded the Multi-Terrain Select functionality, through which the terrain is selected, and the system adjusts the torque distribution and locking (including rear cross-axle) for better efficiency.

The Japanese SUV Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2018-2019 honors traditions, so it remained frame. The front suspension is independent with double wishbones, and the rear is a continuous axle with trailing arms. Adaptive shock absorbers, pneuma and active hydraulic mounts for KDSS stabilizers are installed at the top. Riding modes are manually adjusted, two new modes have been added.

KDSS really had a positive impact on the experience. With her Toyota SUV Land Cruiser Prado 150 loses swing and does not bite when braking. The suspension is certainly comfortable, and the all-wheel drive system surprises with cross-country ability. Don't believe me? Find the car and check.

Off-road enthusiasts will find it useful to know the approach/departure angles: front – 31 degrees, rear – 25 degrees. The manufacturer claims that the car will overcome a ford up to 70 cm deep.

Price and options

This is where the model’s reputation really deteriorates, because the basic “Classic” package is simply empty. It is clear that thereby the manufacturer receives a relatively low base price - 2,499,000 rubles, but worsens prestige.

Base equipment:

  • 2.7-liter engine;
  • Manual Transmission;
  • 4 airbags;
  • hill start assist system;
  • air conditioner;
  • full electrical package;
  • fabric interior;
  • 17-inch steel wheels;
  • conventional limited slip differential;
  • halogen headlights;
  • LED tail lights;
  • light sensor;
  • simple on-board computer;
  • media stub.

The set is really empty. The essence of the Prado is revealed in expensive versions, the top of which costs 4,402,000 rubles. Here you will really understand what it is, because it will appear:

  • 2 additional seats in the rear;
  • 4-liter engine;
  • LED headlights with washer;
  • light sensor;
  • leather trim;
  • new 4.2-inch on-board computer;
  • wood finish;
  • electrically adjustable seats;
  • heating of two rows;
  • front seat ventilation;
  • keyless entry;
  • preheater;
  • Toyota Safety package;
  • 3-zone climate control;
  • 8-inch multimedia display;
  • JBL audio system;
  • 4 cameras;
  • all off-road functions;
  • adaptive suspension.

Yes, this is still the same good old Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2018-2019. The second restyling essentially brought a dozen minor changes, but they were able to completely change the character of the SUV, making it more manageable, modern and functional. The target adult audience will be pleased with the changes and the same reliability. Claim only in basic configuration– too cheap and it’s not about the price.
