The advantages and disadvantages of the 2018-2019 Ford Kuga in a new body were identified based on reviews real owners. More detailed pros and cons Ford Kuga 2nd generation 2.5 and 1.5 turbo with automatic, front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive 4x4 can be found in the stories below:

Owner reviews

The car is comfortable for long hauls over 1,000 km per day. We drove both on highways and on military dirt roads, climbed along scree roads into the mountains (without extreme sports) - Kuga 2 drives confidently, steers when sliding, when stopping on a reverse slope it does not go backwards, you can set off calmly as if on a level road.

Up to 140 km/h the speed is not particularly noticeable; faster it becomes noisy and vibrations appear, but it holds the course confidently even at 160. The car as a whole is balanced, it has no obvious weak points.

The turbocharged engine pulls quite briskly in the city, for sharp overtaking on the highway there is Sport, or the button to lower.

The suspension is more urban on country roads, you can’t go fast, it will go through a virgin field, along rainy forest roads, along a flat beach, it steers nicely. Nothing happened after 30,000 km, the interval between maintenance is 15,000 km. The overall impression is that of a typical urban crossover: comfortable, cheerful, with its own pleasant little things.

But at the same time, I don’t like the layout: the body is narrow, high and elongated (compared to its classmates). The wide A-pillar blocks the side view, the mirrors do not fold all the way and end up sticking out, there is footlight illumination for some unknown reason, but there is no illumination for the glove compartment, on the trunk door the closing handle is only on one side, so when your right hand is busy you have to manage to close and the move is quite hard, a weak woman will have to hang on it.

Igor Suvorov, drives a Ford Kuga 1.6 (150 hp) AWD AT 2015

You can switch the speed on the automatic transmission in manual mode. Very comfortable seats, you get into the car as if you were in a spacecraft. Nice flat square volume luggage compartment when folded rear seats.

The Ford Kuga II handles the road excellently, the car is very maneuverable when driving around the city. And it’s very cool to fill up with gas: I opened the hatch and there are no traffic jams, I put the gun in and took out the gun, it’s clean and comfortable.

Gasoline consumption dropped after 40,000 km, sharply, the car began to consume 2 liters less gasoline. It’s strange, why such a long break-in period? In rainy weather, the trunk sometimes does not open with your foot on the first try. Doors also sometimes (very rarely) do not open on the first try with keyless entry.

Yes, for some reason the side windows get dirty very quickly in the rain. There was only one complaint - after 35,000 km, the engine cooling bypass failed, they replaced it under warranty, despite the fact that I never came to the service, I changed the oil and filter myself.

Video review

A very comfortable and pleasant car to drive, many options, luxurious a roof with a panoramic view, excellent bi-xenon, very comfortable famous door that opens with your foot, excellent seats that have proven themselves very well in long trips(You can easily drive 1,300 km without stopping), good interior materials, decent dynamics, good brakes, very good sound insulation, comfortable suspension, sharp steering wheel, the car is comfortable at speeds up to 200 km/h.

But there are also some problems: the box squeaks, pushes and kicks, steering rack knocks and asks for replacement, the support bars crunch, the saber has worn holes in the back door down to metal, the keyless entry falls off, the music is complete shit..., the steering column clicks, the speedometer is crooked, the hood vibrates at idle, the trunk door sometimes opens with your foot, sometimes it doesn’t, something creaks, taps, rattles, the tire pressure monitoring system does not work, the washer level sensor does not work either...

In addition to this, I was faced with a complete reluctance of official dealers to do anything within the framework of their warranty obligations. Complete from the word “absolutely”. Deeply frostbitten guys. And I received exactly the same attitude from the parent Russian Ford...

Dmitry Gaidash, drives a Ford Kuga 1.6 (182 hp) AWD automatic 2016.

Where can I buy?

After we picked it up, we drove the first 200 km - average consumption showed 8.6 liters. In the city, consumption with all warm-ups and idling showed 13.9 liters. It's a smooth ride.

You understand, while I’m running it in, I’m not forcing it. We were leaving the city for a distance of 200 km one way - the consumption was already 7.3 liters. I fill it with 92nd gasoline, the seller advised me to only drive with 92nd, I don’t know how correct this is, what are you filling?

Now the mileage is already around 900 km. The car warms up very quickly, about 5-10 minutes and the temperature needle starts to rise. It feels like it’s not a car, but an airplane; inside it’s quiet, calm and comfortable. The seats also warm up very quickly.

Another big plus that we paid attention to was the airflow for the rear passengers. On Kuga it is a plus for heating the feet. In my opinion, not on the CX-5. We carry the child in the back. Another plus is the tilt-adjustable rear row seats.

I started the car even at -30 degrees (after 12 hours of inactivity), there is no hint at all that the Kuga will not start. The interior is warm, and in the current frosts I can sit comfortably in a T-shirt.

As for handling, it’s generally a blast. There is no feeling of ice or slush between the stripes. When overtaking, everything is smooth and calm, you sit high, the visibility is excellent. Tires cost Nokia 5 R17 (received as a gift from the salon).

Review of Ford Kuga 1.5 turbo (150 hp) with automatic and all-wheel drive 2018

I will compare the Kuga with my previous Suzuki Grand Vitara. Exterior. I like the front. Still, the muzzle adorned this unit. I don’t like the previous body (the front is kind of squinted). On the side, nothing has changed, indifferent. The rear has changed a little for the better.

Salon. The width on the first row is the same as on the Suzuki. The seats are more comfortable. I settled in right away, the lumbar support is good, as is the lateral support. The right leg doesn't get tired.

Vetrovoe windshield heating is a wonderful thing, perhaps the most useful after air conditioning. There is no need to wait for the engine to heat up, and for the warm air to heat up the glass, which means there is no need to make awkward movements with the scraper.

There is quite a lot of space under the hood, but the neck for the washer is a few centimeters higher - it would be more convenient. What I definitely don’t like is the lack of a dipstick for checking the oil in the automatic transmission.

Suspension. A compromise solution. I can evaluate it quite objectively, since every day I walk to and from work along the same path (road). In those places where I remembered everyone, from road workers to our supreme power, with bad words, now I fly by unnoticed, or almost unnoticed.

Engine. What I wanted is what I got. A simple volumetric atmospheric. Some may not have enough traction, but for me the wave is enough, and in extreme cases there is a sport mode. But it only needs to be serviced (oil changed) every 15,000 km. For me it is clear blasphemy.

The owner drives a 2016 Ford Kuga 2.5 (150 hp) AT AWD.

I have standard equipment, but it has everything you need. Front-wheel drive. The car handles perfectly both on a dry road and in heavy rain with puddles. Someone wrote that Kuga does not eat ruts - they are lying! Ford can handle it normally; any car will feel this drawback of our roads. On normal roads, off asphalt and after rain, the car drives confidently and does not falter.

The Kuga's handling is excellent and turns perfectly, even on a roundabout. There is no roll during a high-speed approach! Don’t listen to anyone, because I also read somewhere that it can tilt a lot.

This is my first automatic, and it seems to me that the mechanics would be faster. Gear changes are slower than desired. Also frustrating is the expense. On the highway at a speed of 110-130 km/h you need 9.5 - 10 liters, and at 140-150 - already 10-11 liters. In the city - 12 liters.

Review of Ford Kuga 2.5 (150 hp) with automatic transmission 2019

I drove a Ford crossover for a week Kuga previous generation, moved to new car and remembered a feeling familiar to every young journalist: it was as if I had received my article after a tough editorial edit, where almost every line was crossed out! I, of course, understood that the source could be improved, but so that, as they say in our editorial office, “a complete rewrite”...

Taking the key to the new Kuga in my hands, I shuddered: it was the same as the old one! This is it, when trying to open the hood a couple of days ago to fill in the washer fluid, I disassembled and reassembled it several times in the cold, dropping the sting into the mucus of reagents. Fortunately, turnkey hood locks are now a thing of the past, like other Fords. From now on, the washer itself can be taken out of the trunk without getting dirty or struggling with a heavy door. The glass of the cargo compartment, unlike its predecessor, does not rise separately, but on a car with keyless entry you can order the “kick in the butt” function familiar, for example, from Volkswagens: put your foot up to the bumper and the door rises, “kick” it again and it goes down .

The “kick” control of the trunk door can infuriate a born football player: lifting the lid begins two to three seconds after the “kick” and lasts at least three times longer than manually opening a door that is devoid of such bells and whistles. But the reward for those who are leisurely is clean hands!

0 / 0

True, I didn’t get along with this system - the Kuga does not immediately respond to a kick. I could have opened and closed the trunk three times with my hands, but here I stand and wait. But you cannot speed up the process manually - the mechanism resists and the door jams. An option for the patient.

But for the prudent, that is, for the majority of those who turned away from the Kuga predecessor, there is a new range of engines. Instead of a 200-horsepower 2.5 turbo-five petrol engine, there is an EcoBoost 1.6 four with a power of 150 or 182 hp. (the difference between these options is not only in the software, but also in the processors of the engine control unit, that is, it is impossible to “add-chip” the first unit to the second), from now on we will only have the 2.0 TDCi diesel in the 140-horsepower version (without the 163-hp version). s.), and “mechanics” is only available in the “initial” Kuga with a 150-horsepower gasoline Ecoboost and front-wheel drive.

There are no problems with the readability of Focus devices. The only thing I didn’t like was that the pop-up windows on the display for a long time blocked, for example, the indications of the navigation system (displayed on the right side of the screen)

All-wheel drive petrol versions are equipped with the same six-speed hydromechanical automatic transmission as the Explorer model, while diesel versions are equipped with a PowerShift preselective robot. So, they say, it is easier (that is, cheaper) to “globalize” a model that has been produced in Louisville, America since April last year, in Valencia, Spain, since December, and from April of this year, its large-unit assembly will be established here in Yelabuga, where similar This is how the old Kuga was made.

More beautiful new model, in my opinion, she didn’t (a typical first reaction to an article after editorial editing). Previously, I saw in Kuga a fit athlete with clear eyes and headlights, but now she has squinted her eyes angrily and has gained weight... Hello from Hyundai ix35! However, was it not me who grumbled into the recorder on the eve of the business trip that the rear seats in the “first” Kuga were cramped, that it was inconvenient to get out of there, and that the trunk was small? Everything is fixed! Although the car is built on a platform that traces its origins to the first-generation C-MAX compact van, it is designed much more spaciously.

At the initial stage, the design of the “second” Kuga promised to be revolutionary, but in the end there was an evolutionary restyling

The difference with the “third” Focus is in the door panels and the design of the bottom of the center console

0 / 0

With the same wheelbase (2690 mm), the crossover became 81 mm longer (now 4524 mm), and the volume of the cargo compartment increased from 360 to 456 liters. I feel this increase, first of all, in the back seat, as if moved into the trunk: now, sitting “behind myself,” I don’t rest my shins against the lower edge of the front seat, and when getting out, I don’t touch the middle pillar with my feet and don’t dodge the door.

In addition, both parts of the rear seat back now have not one, but three fixed positions; they fold not after the cushion, but on top of it, and with one touch, and the front part of the optional glass roof (previously it was solid and tightly fixed) can now be lift or move. In general, passengers should be satisfied.

And the driver?

The front seats were great before and remain so now. The lumbar support adjustment has been moved from the side of the backrest to the outer part of the base of the pillow; in the absence of an electric drive, the backrest tilt is adjusted in steps

The seat moved back gave a noticeable increase in freedom in the legs. The backrest parts have three fixed angles of inclination, and now fold out together with the pillows in one touch

0 / 0

The interior of the previous Kuga seemed outdated to me due to the flat front panel cut into rectangles, but the new one has the three-dimensional riot of the “third” Focus, except that the bottom of the center console is not fenced off from the passenger. The microclimate unit with push-button fan control has not changed fundamentally, and you will only have to get used to the “peas and noodles” scattered across the panel of the Sony multimedia system.

In the trunk underground Russian cars there will not be a repair kit (photo on the right), but a re-roller with a dimension of 155/70 R17 with the wheels basic for all versions being 235/55 R17 (19-inch ones will be offered for an additional fee)

0 / 0

Sitting in the navigator's seat alarmed me - in the absence of height adjustment of the seat, you rest on a cushion at the level of the leading edge of the hood, wanting, but not being able to go down “to the floor” below, although I positioned myself at the wheel as I wanted. There are enough ranges: having moved the seat all the way back, with a height of 176 cm, I can no longer properly squeeze the brake. I didn’t like the cross-section of the steering wheel rim (it was round, but became faceted) and the fact that the central armrest, as before, is located far behind.

The microclimate block has been slightly redrawn. The buttons for heating the windshield and rear windows have moved from top to bottom, and to the right of them are the parking sensor switches, the parking valet control and the electric trunk door button

The rear wheel arches are trimmed with “velvet” - the clicking of stones is almost inaudible, but overall I would not call the Kuga a quiet car

0 / 0

I press the Ford Power button, smoothly move away, rev up the 182-horsepower EcoBoost - and notice that as we approach 5000 rpm, the sound becomes downright unpleasant. Actually, the “boost” is in order here - the dynamics stated in the passport (9.7 s to 100 km/h) are enough, and I am sure that even the 150-horsepower version of this engine will not give the driver a feeling of inferiority. But with the “automatic machine” I would like to establish a more trusting relationship. I smoothly accelerate at the exit of the turn, the transmission quickly selects a lower gear, I drop it a little, add it - and shift again, although the “automatic” should have held the gear tighter. Mode S doesn’t change the picture either, but poking your finger at the “plus-minus” key located on the left side of the selector - sorry: it’s inconvenient and pointless due to noticeable delays.

The doors are stretched down and cover the threshold, making clothes less dirty: the previous model was dirtier

It seems that Kuga's move has become softer even at smooth road- the passenger falls asleep on the count of two. There are no problems on the broken paths that in sunny Valencia lead to orange plantations - it’s a pity, the juicy-looking fruits are still ripening and ripening. The only thing that confused me was the “vibrating” sounds that came from the suspension on a rigid “comb”, as if something was unscrewed there.

In the all-wheel drive, the “Volvo” Haldex clutch was replaced with a multi-plate mechanism with a ball cam clutch (the same as in the Explorer and Edge models) of our own production: now, based on 40 signals that every 16 ms enter the “all-wheel drive brain”, the rear The lower axle is connected not after the front wheels slip, but preventively. I was not able to feel the moments of connection on dry ground, but on the interactive display of the instrument panel I saw that the craving for rear wheels(judging by the graph - a maximum of 50%) is also supplied with just active driving, even without a hint of slipping.

By the way, I had to be quick only because I was late - Kuga itself does not call for this. From the same Focus (and to a slightly lesser extent from the previous Kuga) new crossover It differs in turns not so much in its “handlebar” as in its increased roll. The force on the steering wheel has become less natural (the help of the electric booster is often unnecessary); when cornering, the engine, under the supervision of the Curve Control system, aimed at combating understeer, is smothered by electronics... And there are no systems against unnaturalness.

Once again I caught myself thinking that I am increasingly afraid of cars stuffed with electronic “assistants”. Got a flat tire? No, it was the supervisor behind the markings who smoothly turned the steering wheel away from the dividing line... In order to freely cross the solid road from the side of the road! As a result, there is no longer trust, but there is tension. Just like Kuga has the title of “the most technologically advanced Ford in Europe.”

A multi-plate clutch with a ball cam mechanism promises preventive redistribution of traction, and in case of failure it is replaced as an assembly with the rear gearbox

The entire underbody protection at the front is plastic. Stated ground clearance gasoline Kuga with all-wheel drive - from 147.1 mm when fully loaded to 198 mm for an empty car; For diesel version- 150.8 and 192.9 mm, respectively. The front-wheel drive version sags from 197.2 to 123.9 mm under load

0 / 0

By God, it would be more useful to spend “electronic” money on tuning the same PowerShift box that was equipped with my second in line Kuga with a 163-horsepower diesel engine. As in the case of a gasoline car, the number of “horses” is not important here - back in Moscow, driving the old 163-horsepower Kuga, I noted that I could easily survive the loss of twenty horses, so the fact is that in Russia there will be only one, 140-horsepower diesel version, I don’t see any trouble.

The Kuga 2.0 TDCi accelerates a little more quickly than the petrol version due to the tighter “binding” of the transmission to the accelerator, but off-road conditions leave no trace of this joy. The same applies when trying to park. It’s one thing when there’s a soft snowdrift behind me, but now I need to turn around on the spot between the rock and the cliff. Reverse gear, gas, but Kuga rolls forward. Crap! In order not to break the bumpers, I turn around “with two pedals”, releasing the brake only when, following a distinct clatter under the bottom, I feel a push in the right direction. And no Active Park Assist will help here!

The diesel Kuga is also noisy: the wind whistle, heard in the area of the A-pillars and the rear edge of the hood from 60 km/h on a gasoline car, is complemented by a characteristic diesel rumble in all driving modes. And the vibrations are noticeable.

The rear view camera is still exposed to dirt. From now on, Kuga can park itself: the P.Pilot function is selected using a button on the multimedia system panel

However, in our market diesel will now be number two (at the end of last year it beat gasoline unit with a score of 2395:1797). Ford marketers are betting on the petrol EcoBoost - and counting on a “boost”, that is, an increase in sales to the level that they have Volkswagen Tiguan and Toyota RAV4.

Any reason?

Since 2008, Russia has managed to sell 10,921 Ford Kuga crossovers - this is three times less than the result of the Tiguan or RAV4 (and, by the way, a couple of Kia Sportage/Hyundai ix35), and only last year. On the other hand, the “rewrite” was perhaps a success: Ford’s people corrected almost everything that Kuga had previously been criticized for. The car has become more spacious, roomier, and most importantly, as they promise at the Russian representative office of Ford, cheaper than before!

New for Russian market The EcoBoost petrol four should also become the engine of trade. It will not be easy to pour washer fluid into the neck located deeper than before (with the yellow cap) without spraying the surrounding area. Opening the hood with the usual lever instead of a key is a pleasure. Notice how large a “stand” the lock hinge required!

0 / 0

Prices will be announced in March, when demo cars appear at dealers, but it appears that the most affordable, front-wheel drive Kuga with a 150-horsepower gasoline Ecoboost will be cheaper than the 959 thousand rubles that before the “sale” were asked for its diesel counterpart of the previous generation. Considering that the basic new generation Toyota RAV4 costs at least 998 thousand rubles... There are chances!

Moreover, even the simplest configuration The Trend includes, like the RAV4, an audio system, air conditioning and push-button start. Trend Plus is plus dual-zone climate control and alloy wheels, Titanium is keyless entry. And in the top version Titanium Plus - bi-xenon, navigation, panoramic roof, leather upholstery... The list of options will complement the “package” equipment.

By the way, the American version of the new Kuga, Ford Escape, immediately broke its previous annual sales record: 261,008 crossovers in 2012 versus 254,293 cars a year earlier.

Quickly jump to sections

The updated Ford Kuga has changed the shape of the hood, and the headlights and radiator grille have become slightly different. The taillights have changed the shape of the sections, which may be important for fans of the model, but technical specifications This, of course, did not affect the restyled Ford Kuga. The main changes that have occurred in the car concern its electronic filling.

Like other Kugas, it is equipped with a turbo engine of the EcoBoost family, in this case its volume is 1.5 liters and its power is 182 hp, as well as automatic transmission. This is exactly the option that is sold in Russia. If Ford cars have enemies, they don’t like them lately, primarily for the design of the interior. Indeed, the center console is designed in such a way that it literally runs over the driver. But dashboard can't help but like it. The steering wheel is grippy, quite comfortable and easy to adjust since it is adjustable in two directions, and the instruments can even be called sporty. The Kuga has them the same as the Focus, recessed in two wells.

Innovations in the cabin

appeared on the steering wheel new block control, thanks to which the new Ford Kuga received adaptive cruise control and the ability to monitor lanes. Moreover, the car may even steer a little if the driver is distracted and does not pay close attention to the lane.

Video: new Kuga on the road

The center console of the new Ford Kuga now has a full-fledged large screen and a modern Sync 3 multimedia system with voice control. Navigation system and maps are in Russian. The screen is touch-sensitive, however, some functions can be controlled using buttons. There were also “remnants of the past” - the temperature indicators on the center console, as before, are green. A clear tribute to tradition, indicating that this is an American car.

Ford Kuga impresses with its enormous space for rear passengers. Even with the front seat moved back, there is more than enough room in the knees. There is no tunnel under the feet of the passenger sitting in the center of the second row, which means three people will be comfortable sitting on the back seat. In addition, rear passengers have at their disposal an adjustable backrest, an armrest and pockets in the doors. An interesting detail: the windows in the rear doors go down to the very bottom, which is not found on all cars. This is another reason why young families choose the new Ford Kuga. If we add a few more fashionable options and slightly refresh the design, the car will sell even better.

Dimensions and other dimensions of Ford Kuga:

  • Length: 4524 mm;
  • Width: 2077 mm, with mirrors folded 1838 mm;
  • Height: 1689 mm, with roof rails 1703 mm;
  • Wheelbase: 2690 mm;
  • Turning diameter: 11.1 m;
  • Fuel tank volume: 60 liters;
  • Trunk volume: 484 liters, 1653 liters with rear seats down.

Overhangs and ground clearance allow

When you buy a crossover, especially an all-wheel drive one, its owner wants to believe that his car will be capable of at least moderate off-road driving. Ford Kuga has the prerequisites for this. In particular, it has short overhangs, thanks to which during the test drive the car moved through hilly fields without problems.

What's interesting is this. Any modern crossover is full of various electronic assistants. In particular, a hill descent assistant is found on seemingly every crossover today. Alas, for some reason it was not available on the updated Ford Kuga. We had to go down the old fashioned way, that is, on the brakes. On a dry hill it’s not scary, but when you have to slide down slippery slopes, electronic assistant It would be very useful.

Another question is to what extent the new Kuga is suitable for driving to the top of a particular hill. On Kugas of the first releases there was Haldex coupling, but then Ford decided to save money and began independently developing all-wheel drive systems. They coped with the task and their system works well. The only question is: why doesn’t it have a clutch lock button so that, if necessary, the driver can force four-wheel drive permanent? By the way, there is no disabling the ESP system here, and this helps a lot when off-road.

However, the new Ford Kuga is capable of conquering hills quite well. Still, its engine is good, and besides, it works in tandem with a real automatic machine. The car easily climbs to the top of any hillock. In places where the car is hanging out, the traction control system is activated, the torque is transferred to the wheels that have traction with the ground, and the car successfully drives up.

About steering

What motorists have always liked about the Ford Kuga is its handling. The new Ford Kuga has retained this advantage and the restyled model still handles incomparably. This is especially felt in the version where the gearbox is a full-fledged automatic. its presence is especially valuable off-road, but it also demonstrates its advantages well on asphalt. The box does everything necessary quite quickly, especially in Sport mode.

However, in sport mode another feature appears. Getting into the car with a familiar movement, you switch the selector lever down and immediately enter the Sport mode, and the fuel consumption in this mode is such that it easily reaches the level of 16 liters. However, the sport mode itself is wonderful. It also has an instant response to pressing the pedal, there is also a pick-up, but the gas tank is emptied at an alarming speed. However, as soon as you move the lever up, the mode changes to the usual “Drive”, after which the character of the car changes significantly. Pickup is no longer the same, but fuel consumption is reduced to 12 liters “per hundred” mileage.

Review of the disadvantages of Ford Kuga

One of the main features of the updated Ford Kuga is the new multimedia Sync 3. There are no questions about its large screen, but now with its new card very difficult to figure out. In particular, if you need to return to the main menu from navigation, then this is quite difficult to do.

By the way, in the multimedia system there was also a way to disable Traction Control, which I really wanted to do, but failed during an off-road test drive. The fact is that in most cars this shutdown is implemented very simply: by pressing a single button. It couldn't be better. For example, while driving, when the driver sees that there is dirt in front of him. In this case, he presses the desired button and ESP system turns off instantly. As soon as the dirt is left behind, the driver uses the same button to activate the system.

On the new Kuga, this functionality is implemented much more complicated. The owner of the crossover has to go into the menu, make five or six movements there before he gets to the desired option, and only after that he can turn off the stabilization system. Why such difficulties?

Under the hood of the new Kuga

In Russia, Ford Kuga is sold from gasoline engine“EcoBoost”, with a volume of one and a half liters and a power of 180 hp. There is also a second engine - this is a well-known, time-tested aspirated engine. its displacement is 2.5 liters and its power is 150 hp. It works in tandem with an automatic machine. What's good about this motor? It is, of course, much more reliable, since it does not have a turbine. On the other hand, when driving it is very sluggish and the car, as they say, does not move with it. If there is EcoBoost under the hood, the dynamics of the car are completely different.

Two versions of the new Ford Kuga:

  • Engine: EcoBoost, displacement 1.5 liters, turbocharged, power 182 hp, torque 240 Nm. Drive: either four-wheel drive or front-wheel drive, gearbox: 6-speed automatic.
  • Engine: naturally aspirated gasoline, displacement 2.5 liters, power 150 hp. Drive: front-wheel drive only.

Options and prices

The test drive showed that the updated Ford Kuga has, in general, changed slightly, which has twofold consequences. With one of them, the good thing is that the car’s handling and cross-country ability have been preserved. On the other hand, future owners will not really like some of the electronic features of the updated model. Although, of course, the deciding factor, as usual, will be the price. It is hoped that Ford's flexible pricing policy for the new Kuga will continue. By the way, the following question may arise: where is Ford Kuga assembled? In Yelabuga, where it is located Russian plant Ford company.

The new product is offered in four configuration levels:

  1. 1.379 million rubles. there is a restyled version of the Kuga in the Trend version. This basic equipment, and therefore he shouldn’t wait much for her. Under the hood there will be a 2.5-liter engine, and the drive will only be on the front axle. However, the crossover will have both ESP and ABS, which has become mandatory today. The driver will have a number of assistants at his disposal, designed for situations such as emergency braking and starting off on a slope. Moreover, the electronics will help the driver keep traction under control when cornering, as well as prevent possible rollovers on sharp turns.
  2. Trend Plus will be slightly better at a price of 1.469 million rubles. Here the buyer will receive a car with turbocharged EcoBoost, and most importantly, he will have the opportunity to choose the type of drive: either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
  3. Next comes the Titanium package with a price tag starting at 1.559 million rubles. The buyer of this version will have the opportunity to choose an engine: either the good old naturally aspirated engine or the brand new EcoBoost with turbocharging.
  4. The line of models is crowned by the Titanium Plus version, which costs almost 2 million rubles. It will feature all the innovations described above, such as multimedia Sync 3, as well as a parking assistant and trunk opening using the “wave your foot” method.

The world-famous automaker, Ford, is implementing a unified quality control and standardization system at all its production plants. Main European production plant American cars located in Saarlouis (Germany). The Americans began building the enterprise in 1996. It is considered one of the largest engineering complexes in Germany. The plant employs about 6.5 thousand workers and more than a thousand robots, all of them working in three shifts. With a combined effort, the plant assembles 1,650 cars of different models every day. Almost 80% of all assembled cars exported to more than eighty countries around the world, including New Zealand and Australia. But many Russian car enthusiasts are wondering where FordKuga is assembled for the Russian Federation?

Assembling the model for Russia

This American crossover is in great demand in the Russian segment. Because machines that meet all quality control standards come off the Tatarstan assembly line. The components and materials that Kuga is equipped with are checked many times before assembly.
But, even in the case of this model, car owners cannot avoid minor problems. Ford Kuga Russian assembly Noticed some problems with the electronics:

  • errors occur that can stall the engine
  • the turbine will have to be repaired after covering a distance of several hundred kilometers
  • The crossover has problems with the suspension.
Therefore, for many buyers it is important where Ford Kuga is produced.

For our consumers, Kuga cars are equipped with a 2-liter diesel engine with capacities to choose from - 140 and 163 Horse power. Also, there are crossovers with a 1.6-liter petrol power plant(175 hp). In the basic version, the car is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
