Reviews from ZiD 50-05 owners

ZiD 50-05, 2013

Well, let’s start - ZiD 50-05 is exactly the same as Delta and Orion 100. Well, it’s not suitable for long distances, weak engine It’s better to bet on one hundred and ten cubes. The moped is light, very comfortable, not very beautiful, the tank is very small, and I personally don’t like the trunk at all. There are two seats on it, but only if two teenagers sit there, it will fit, but if two normal men sit there, then it won’t, and it will be difficult for him to lead them. The front fork is bad, for the first thousand kilometers it was just wooden, rear shock absorbers They are bad, I have already changed them because it is not possible to drive them. You need to go through a good run-in, if you don’t do well, then the ZiD 50-05 can be killed within a year. Change everything as written in the instructions. There is little gasoline, which is very convenient. Drives slowly. And the bolts on it are very bad; when I bought it, half of the bolts still had to be tightened. My opinion is that this is a moped for a neat, quiet ride. And it's up to you to decide whether to take it or not.

Advantages : Eats little gasoline. Not expensive.

Flaws : bad materials. Not beautiful.

Alexey, Cherepovets

ZiD 50-05, 2012

The moped is not bad, the engine capacity is only 48 cubic meters. see, and the ZiD 50-05 does not drive very fast (about 60 km/h), but there are no problems with traffic police. Yes, and I personally bought a moped in 2010, and I will tell you that the engine of this device is reliable (there have been no breakdowns as such until now). As for the frame of this unit, it is not higher than 4 points, since the metal is quite weak and therefore it is advisable to try not to carry heavy objects. But overall the unit is good (no worse than the “Alpha” and other “Chinese”).

Advantages : compared to the “alpha”, the cross-country ability is better, and not expensive (21-22 thousand rubles).

Flaws : the metal of the frame is weak. The tires are soft (not for off-road use).

ZiD 50-05, 2012

This miracle of technology is produced at the Degtyarev plant. Made from Lifan brand components. The ZiD 50-05 moped is quite light (up to one hundred kilograms), easy to operate, and economical. Good visibility(two rear view mirrors). The seat is designed for two riders (only not solid, but separate). Therefore, these vehicles are increasingly popular among the fairer sex. A huge advantage is that the ZiD 50-05 frame has a small trunk (in front of the driver) and you can put shopping bags on it. The four-stroke engine, with a volume of 48 cubic cm, clearly fits into the category of mopeds, which means that driver's license not required. Only a helmet is required. The moped easily maintains the speed limit in a populated area (60 km/h). You can drive it into nature; it is not afraid of bad roads. True, I don’t recommend driving long distances at such a speed (it’s too tiring).

Advantages : maneuverable, easy to operate, economical.

Flaws : wheels are not interchangeable (different sizes).

ZiD 50-05, 2013

The first thing after purchasing a ZiD 50-05 is to immediately check all connections (bolts, nuts) and tighten them. You can process them silicone grease or WD40, and then you will have a better chance that nothing will come loose. But after this method, the nuts and bolts may become so stuck that you can’t tear them off only if you use a liquid wrench. If possible, I advise you to immediately change all the wiring to insulated wiring or something more expensive. It’s also better to change all the hoses at once, the more expensive the better. Also on the ZiD 50-05 there is no protection against dry shifting, since the gears are located in a circle, you can calmly turn off the engine and switch from 4th gear to neutral. But there is also a drawback to this, because I drive along a country road in a lower gear and immediately engage 4th gear; more than once I have touched the gearshift lever and switched to 3rd or neutral - that’s the second thing, this is not very good for a moped. As I read on the ZiD forums, in the 2014 model this problem has already been eliminated and you can’t switch from 4 to neutral without pressing the clutch. What can I say - the moped is light, the engine is 48 cubic meters, the “maximum speed” according to the speedometer is 60 km/h, and according to the transmission 80, then the cut-off is triggered. But accelerating to 80 on a ZiD 50-05 is not realistic, because... the engine is very weak. A person can easily pull up to 100 kg; on a good road you can easily accelerate to 60. A person over 120 kg can barely move. A friend was riding a girl on my moped, the total weight was about 120 kg. The moped was no longer confident in accelerating, but still picked up a speed of 60 km. The ZiD 50-05 also goes well on country roads, but in the sand it can blow the rear off, so I immediately engage 4th gear and drive quietly as if in a low gear. It’s especially good to drive like this in mud and you won’t get stuck. The moped just sniffs gasoline. I don’t know how much it uses, but the tank lasted a long time. Problems over 2 seasons - first the carburetor sneezed, a neighbor quickly blew it out without removing it and adjusted it. Then it began to twitch when changing gears, as it turned out the clutch was burnt out, I bought a new one for 1650 rubles.

Advantages : low fuel consumption. Spare parts are always available in the central region.

Flaws : The Chinese engine cannot be compared with the Soviet one both in quality and characteristics.

History of the Plant named after V.A. Degtyarev (ZID) in the city of Kovrov began during the First World War: on August 27, 1916, the construction of the first buildings of the Kovrov machine gun plant began. In 1946, the first K-125 motorcycles began to be produced in Kovrov, and in the 50s - “Kovrovets” and “Voskhod”. Well, the plant’s first small-capacity motorcycle appeared only in the 90s.

ZID 50 Pilot (1995-present)

ZID 50 Pilot became the first moped of the plant. It first appeared in 1995 and was equipped with a 3.5 hp 50 cc 2-stroke engine. It developed 50 km/h and consumed 2.2 l/100 km at a speed of 30 km/h. The small moped weighing 76 kg had a three-speed gearbox combined into one unit with the engine. In 1999, a batch of mopeds with a raised front fender was released. In 2004, an improved version of the ZiD-50-01 appeared with a 4-stroke Chinese Lifan engine power 2.72 hp Interestingly, they used a semi-automatic clutch, so the clutch handle disappeared.

ZID 50 Cargo (ZDK-2.404) (1995-present)

In addition to the two-wheeled moped ZID 50 Pilot, they also produced a three-wheeled cargo model ZDK-2.404. It received the same 50 cc 3.5 hp two-stroke single-cylinder engine, but its top speed reached only 40 km/h. Fuel consumption – 3 l/100 km at a speed of 30 km/h. Weight – 112 kg. In 2004, the ZID 50-02 version appeared with a 4-stroke Chinese Lifan engine with a power of 2.72 hp. Moreover, such a moped could be supplemented with a rear differential.

ZID 50-01 Active (since 2000)

In 2000, another version of the ZID 50 model appeared, which was called “Active”. It was equipped with the same 2-stroke ZDK-50 engine, and its main difference was the original cruiser-style plastic body kit. In 2004, simultaneously with the ZID 50 Pilot, the Active received a Chinese 4-stroke Lifan engine.

ZID 50-05

More recently, the Degtyarev plant began producing a licensed copy of the Chinese Lifan moped under the ZID 50-05 brand. The lightweight and extremely cheap moped is equipped with a 4-stroke carburetor engine LIFAN, 1P39FMA air cooled. The same is installed on all other models of the “50” family. The two-seater scooter weighs only 82 kg.

ZiD-36 "Ptah" (1997-2001)

In 1997, the plant presented its new development - a tiny folding mokik ZID 36 Ptah. Its folding steering wheel and lowering seat made it possible to transport it in a regular passenger car and store on the balcony. In 2001, the plant began serial production of Ptakh. It was equipped with a ZDK-36 engine with a displacement of only 36 cm3 and a power of 1.5 hp. Maximum speed – 35 km/h, fuel consumption – 2.8 l/100 km. The gearbox is two-speed with foot shift. The bird weighed only 35 kg. dimensions- 1400x650x1100 (950) mm. Despite the interesting design, Ptah turned out to be economically unprofitable, and production was discontinued in 2007.

ZID 50 "Arkan" (ZDK-2.501) (2000-2003)

In 2000, the Kovrov plant produced its first scooter, the ZID 50 Arkan. He immediately became a sensation at all Russian and even international exhibitions. “Arkan” was made on the already proven chassis of the ZiD 50 Pilot moped, which has already become a bestseller in Russian market. The scooter absorbed all the most innovative things that were available at the factory at that time: accumulator battery, electric starter, neutral indicator, fuel level indicator and low oil indicator. An important detail is the separate lubrication system, which simplifies refilling. There was one “but” that distinguished the Arkan from its foreign analogues: the gearbox here was also from the Pilot, i.e. three-speed manual, not a CVT, as on all foreign models. In the spring of 2001, the plant produced the first pilot batch of mini-rollers in the amount of 50 pieces. But the moped went... In total, until 2003, no more than a thousand of these machines were produced. "Arkan" and Vyatsko-Polyansky "Strizh", although they were cheaper than new foreign roller skates, were not in demand. AND main reason It was precisely the absence of a variator in the design of scooters.

Conceptual models

ZID Alpha-50

In the early 90s, plant engineers began to think about replacing the Pilot. This is how the promising Alpha-50 model with a very original design appeared. The engine on the Alpha-50 remained the same, 50 cc with a power of 3.5 hp, which allowed the moped to accelerate to 50 km/h. Consumption remained the same – 2.2 l/100 km at a speed of 30 km/h. Weight – 76 kg. But such a moped did not go into production, and the plant still produces outdated Pilots.

ZID TURBONE-50 (1993-1998)

From 1993 to 1998 at the Plant named after. Dyagterev, along with the successor to the Pilot - Alpha-50, was developing a moped equipped with a CVT. The Mokik was called TURBONE-50, had an interesting innovative design and could become very popular. But, only 11 pieces were produced. One of the surviving mokiks is in the private collection of Nikolai Tubaev in Kovrov.

ZID 50 Arkan Prototype (1999)

In 1999, a prototype of the Arkan scooter was made with an original plastic body kit. The entire technical innovation was similar to the ZID 50 Pilot mokik.

Rusak (1999)

The Rusak custom moped was a prototype of a moped in the style of American cruisers. All technical basis was borrowed from the serial ZID-50 Pilot.

Nika (2000)

In 2000, a prototype of Nick's moped was released, which was a ZID-50 Pilot in enduro style. Mokik received an appropriate body kit and reinforced suspension.

ZID 80 Arkan (2000)

The model of a promising mokik was created by designer Alexey Bobylev. It received a five-speed gearbox, disc brake front wheel and separate lubrication system. Was in the factory museum, after the disbandment of which it was sold into private hands. Currently in the collection of Vladimir Myachin.

ZID 80 Arkan Custom (2000)

Another promising mokik created by designer Alexey Bobylev. What distinguished the Arkan from the ZID 80 was its body kit in the style of American cruisers.

ZID 50 Arkan with CVT (2001)

As already written above, the main reason for the failure of sales of the ZID 50 Arkan scooter was the lack automatic transmission in the design. But in 2001, the plant produced a prototype of the Arkan with a CVT, which, unfortunately, never went into production.

ZID 80 (2001)

The model of a promising mokick in the enduro style was created by designer A. Kabaev.

ZID KM (2002)

A prototype was created in 2002 motocross motorcycle ZID KM with ZDK-50 engine.

Quad "Double" (2006)

When things in the ZiD motorcycle production were so bad that they were ready to build anything just to get cash, comrades from St. Petersburg turned to SKB. And they asked to implement their long-standing idea - to build a double moped so that you could ride with a passenger, and at the same time not worry about maintaining balance (an ideal option for drunk drivers - you don’t need a “licence” for fifty dollars). We took the “Pilot” as a basis, using a number of components from our “Tarpan” all-terrain vehicle.

The front suspension turned out to be especially original - independent, on trailing arms. No one in the world had anything like this, as well as a way to “fix” a passenger - holding onto the handlebars of a motorcycle type. The ATV was powered by a Chinese Lifan engine with a power of 2.72 hp, the same one that was installed on the Pilots. The customer took the device, called “Double” without much imagination, paid generously, and took it to St. Petersburg. The further fate of "Double", unfortunately, cannot be traced...

Sports models

ZiD-50-SMB (1998-1999)

The sports mokick ZID-50-SMB for motoball was a ZID-50 Pilot with a full motoball hitch and gear shift on the steering wheel. It was intended for athletes aged 11 to 16 years. A small batch went to clubs around the country, and European clubs also showed interest, but things didn’t go any further. Overall dimensions – 1700x980x750 mm. Wheelbase – 1150 mm. Weight – 76 kg. Carburetor two-stroke engine ZDK-50-01 with a displacement of 49.9 cm3 and a power of 4 hp. Gearbox – 3-speed.

ZiD-50XL-Cross (1999)

The prototype of the children's mokik ZID-50XL-Cross was created in 1999. It had the same ZDK-50 engine with a power of 3.5 hp. and a 3-speed gearbox from the ZID 50 Pilot. The matter did not go beyond the production of prototypes.

ZID-50 Cross (2000)

Option of a sports body kit for the ZDK-2.103 chassis. Was released in a small batch.

ZID Ptakha-NRMF (2003)

Prototype sports children's motorcycle"Ptah" was manufactured by ZID by order of the National Russian Motorcycle Federation in 2003 in a single copy. Specifications identical to the standard mokik ZID 36 Ptah.

ZID Pilot 80 NRMF (2003)

A prototype of the children's sports motorcycle "Pilot-80-NRMF" was manufactured at ZiD by order of the National Russian Motorcycle Federation in 2003 in a single copy.

ZID GAS-GAS (2003)

"ZiD-Gas-Gas" was a combination of the chassis of the Spanish mock GAS-GAS EC 50 Rookie and the Kovrov ZDK-50 engine. Mokik was made by order of the Russian dealer Gas-Gas. The characteristics of the Pilot engine were similar to the original one, but they were still different - three gears instead of six, air cooling instead of water cooling and the absence of an electric starter. A total of 2 copies were made, one of which is located

Mokik ZiD 50 02 cargo is presented in the form of a three-wheeled vehicle with a body on a strong frame designed for transporting goods. Mokik pilot ZidD 50 is a workhorse that is capable of moving on roads of any quality, including dirt roads. The model is very unpretentious in operation, and the price more than pays for the technical characteristics.

Appearance and shock-absorbing qualities of Mokik ZiD 50

Mokik ZiD 50 in its front part differs little from its two-wheeled counterparts. At the rear, the frame is a frame for a spacious body, installed between the rear wheels. The seat is long and allows two people to sit comfortably. The engine is located under the seat. Gearbox that allows you to move in reverse, placed between the rear wheels.

Mokik ZiD 50 02 cargo is presented in the form of a three-wheeled vehicle with a body

Fenders above the rear and front wheels, mirrors on the steering wheel arches, a chrome fork, a large square headlight in the fairing, stylish turn signals - all this gives the moped a serious and expensive look. It compares favorably with its counterparts (cargo mopeds) in style and catchy appearance. The bright, red coloring of the body and body only emphasizes the shape and pleases the eye.

For comparison, we can recall the gray-green appearance the old “Ant” is truly a workhorse that causes despondency.

Documentation for the vehicle

Included in the set of documents for vehicle Includes an instruction manual, a Mokik parts catalog and an engine parts catalog. All this is necessary to carry out routine maintenance and carrying out routine repairs of the moped.

The small engine volume allows you to operate the device without special rights. However, it is still better to have a motorcycle license.

Specifications

The technical characteristics of the device include several indicators:

Model range overview

The lineup consists of the following models:

Zid 50. The Mokik ZiD 50 carburetor creates a power of 2 horsepower. However, there are modifications that depend specifically on the number of revolutions and, accordingly, power.

The moped model range has several options
  1. ZiD 50-01 with carburetor Mokik ZiD 50 01.
  2. ZiD 50-02 with Mokik ZiD 50 02 carburetor.
  3. ZiD 50-02 with an engine power of 2.7 hp.

In general, the models are the same. The mass of each mokik is 112 kg, the load capacity is 100 kg. The speed does not decrease, remaining within 45-50 km/h.

Price and annual maintenance cost

The trike itself costs from 62,000 rubles. Annual maintenance costs from 1000 to 3000 rubles, for oil and burnt out bulbs in the headlights. If used carefully in the first year, the trike does not require major repairs or costs. Spark plugs, rings, filters and gaskets need to be changed only during repairs or after the first year of operation.

Owner reviews

Nikolay, Yekaterinburg. My review of the cargo Mokik ZiD 50 02. I bought a moped for work. But it turned out that the declared load capacity of 100 kg was not enough for me. Fortunately, the engine is being well modified; larger diameter pistons can be installed. After upgrading the power unit, the load capacity increased to 150 kg, although the maximum speed remained at 50 km/h. But overall, everything is fine now.

Alexey, St. Petersburg. The presence of reverse speed in a moped is very convenient. You can immediately park your vehicle at a loading ramp, for example in a store, for unloading/loading. The gasoline crisis with this bike is not terrible - fuel consumption is minimal, only 2.2 liters per 100 km.

Andrey. Saratov. My company operates 10 units of Mokik Pilot ZiD 50 and 50 02 cargo trucks. In general, there are no major comments on the quality or price of service. We buy spare parts through official dealer, the prices are quite reasonable, and besides, they are not often required. The trikes were purchased online, the product arrived in perfect condition without any delays. All my drivers have a license and wear helmets, although this is not mandatory for this type of transport.

If you don’t want to travel in stuffy, crowded transport and depend on its schedule, or just walk, we suggest purchasing a Zid 50-05 moped.

Conveyor assembly of a moped at JSC Plant named after. V.A. Degtyarev" is carried out with 100% inspection of each component and standard testing, which guarantees the reliability and quality of the vehicle. The inexpensive and easy-to-use moped Zid 50-05 is indispensable for trips around the city. It will easily take you to the institute or store. It is also easy to operate and country roads, getting to a summer cottage, for a picnic, hunting or fishing.

Maneuverable, with a convenient trunk and economical fuel consumption, the ZiD 50-05 moped is for people of any age.

Three-wheeled cargo moped ZiD - intended for use in private households. On paved roads, including dirt roads, the compact cargo tricycle is capable of carrying up to 100 kg of cargo. On straight sections the vehicle develops maximum speed 50 km/h, while with a load the manufacturer recommends sticking to speed limit 30 km/h.

Model ZiD 50-02 is equipped with gasoline engine internal combustion Lifan 1P39FMB-C, with fuel supplied through a carburetor. The engine is cooled by an air cooling system. Single cylinder power four-stroke engine, with a volume of 49 cm³, is 2.72 hp. or 2.0 kW. And his average consumption AI-92 fuel is equal to 2.2 liters per 100 km.

The chassis consists of a welded tubular frame, front telescopic fork with two spring-hydraulic shock absorbers and independent pendulum suspension rear wheels, also with two spring-hydraulic shock absorbers. The front fork travel is at least 150 mm along the wheel axis, the travel rear suspension, also along the wheel axis – 50 mm. All three wheels of the moped are spoked.

The tires of the front and rear wheels have a dimension of 2.50/85-16 (L-264). Drum brakes are made with separate mechanical drive to the front and rear wheels. The diameter of the brake drums is 125 mm. Torque from the gearbox (main gear) is transmitted to the rear wheels via a chain. The engine starts using an electric or kick starter. A bright headlight illuminates the road well at night.

There are 3 forward and 1 reverse gears. The gearbox is located in the same block with power unit. The driver shifts gears with his foot, and the clutch control is located on the steering wheel. The clutch itself is multi-plate, placed in an oil bath, and motor transmission– gear.

The three-wheeled moped is equipped with a metal dump truck body with a tailgate. The tailgate makes loading the tricycle easier, and the tipper body speeds up unloading. Thus, the process of unloading bulk cargo, for example, sand, peat, earth, sawdust, gravel, hauled garbage, etc., is simplified as much as possible.

ZiD 50-02 adapted for Russian road conditions. Thanks to the durable steel frame, the loaded tricycle is stable while driving and can withstand loads well, and the spring-hydraulic shock absorbers smooth out uneven road surfaces well. All major controls are logically located on the steering wheel. The instrument panel consists of a speedometer, odometer and control sensors for important operating processes.

The ZiD cargo tricycle is a light and economical utilitarian transport with a dump truck body, which is primarily intended for purchase by residents of villages, small towns and urban settlements. Mokik does not take up much storage space and is easy to maintain. Low price makes a Russian moped the most profitable purchase in comparison with Chinese and other imported analogues.
