Petersburg Motor-designed Pavel Kobyak, the founder of the movement "sat down and drove", this summer is going to conquer the American roads. The plans - to drive about 15 thousand km from the US. On the eve of the trip, Paul told the site about his travels in Russia and gave advice, how to prepare for a long road.

Behind Paul is not one dozen motodalo. In 2012, he drove from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok. The result of this voyage was the book of travel notes "sat down and drove". In July last year, he traveled to the North Caucasus. I had the impressions to the second part - "sat down and went - 2. Caucasian serpentine." Paul hopes that the stories described in his books will spur young people to collect backpacks and go to search for adventures, as well as dating new people, cities and countries.

"Valuable experience that is necessary to get"

Pavel Kobyak: - traveling long ago, from 16 years, at the very different transport. A bike traveled around the lake Ladoga, from Murmansk to Moscow traveled on a snowmobile. June 23, 2012 I and two of my comrades went on motorcycles from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok.

On the way were 23 days. During the day, 600-800 km overcame, depending on what condition was the road, made full stops in Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk, Khabarovsk and other cities. Seen Lake Baikal. Vivid impressions left the Republic of Buryatia, where we visited Ivolginsky Datsan. Very interesting place. Buddhist region, where everyone is happy ... Abbot, having learned that we arrived from St. Petersburg, allowed to inspect us the most important temple. I went inside: fragrance, silence. Amazing atmosphere.

They happened on the road, of course, the breakdowns, but we were very helpful to the motors that we were met and practically passed from the city to the city - called familiar and asked to meet the motorcycles. Mostly it was the same as we, motorcytries who understood that we could need on the road. So in our country you can count on a meal.

Maria Sokolova: - What is the most difficult area of \u200b\u200bthe road during the journey in Russia?

Plot Chita - Skovorodino is 1000 km of undeveloped infrastructure. Very little settlements, one refueling is found 150 km. To this road it is better to prepare in advance: to carry the canisters with fuel, food to slip the plot without problems.

When our fuel was already on the outcome, we found a refueling, where there was only diesel and the 80th gasoline - the 92th end. After 150 km, they reached the second station, where there were several cars in anticipation. "Get in line," one of the drivers shouted. - Now gas 66 will come with fuel. " And, however, after some time a truck came with a 200-liter bar of 92th gasoline. Began to refill cars, pouring into banks and cannors. They were taken by the guys on Lexus. They lacked gasoline. In the previous refueling, they poured into the tank of the 80th and somehow to this. We shared with them with fuel, gave 10 liters, so that they even somehow retained until the next gas station.

On the site Chita - Skovorodino still not easy road. She was asphalted a couple of years ago. Although local and call it "Highway", it can be easily crammed on it. There are many swampy places, and the asphalt has already started fail. Therefore, it is important to look at the signs. If "50" is indicated, then so much and you have to go. There are such pans in which half of the motorcycle fails. If you drive at speeds, you can lose control, and on the car it is easy to smash the suspension.

- You traveled on the SUZUKI HAYABUSA motorcycle. What is due to such unusual for long-distance travel selection of equipment?

I like this motorcycle. Foreigners were very surprised, having learned that I was traveling not on Chopper and not on tourist enduro. Probably, I am the first who drove through the whole of Russia on Hayabusa (smiles).

True, during his second trip along the North Caucasus, in Georgia, I got on this motorcycle into an accident. I had six ribs broken, I received a compression spinal fracture. As a result, the third group of disability.

After an accident, I spent three weeks in the hospital. During this time, I even began to teach the Georgian language. Almost every day my friend came to me - Gocha from Tbilisi - I brought me food, hotels. Thanks to him, three weeks were not hard. In general, Georgians are very kind, open people. It is a pity that politicians are trying to spoil the relationship between our peoples. The younger generation is already a little different, pro-American is configured. And adult people, old hardening, others. Meet very soulful ...

After I was discharged from the hospital, I went to the corset for another four months. He took him before the New Year. Now I bought myself another motorcycle - tourist with a straight fit. In August I plan a new journey to the United States.

- Which route is waiting for you in America? Are not afraid to go there because of the last political confrontations?

Rather, I was afraid not to get a visa. But everything went around - they gave for three years. As for the relationship between the Americans and the Russians, I brought references from acquaintances. It turned out that residents of the United States are trying not to discuss political issues, do not spend time at this time. They reason: foreign policy is not affected by us, it does not interfere, why should we spend your time at her? In some ways, such a position is understandable. We are all otherwise in Russia - everyone loves to discuss the latest foreign policy issues, to cross.

Trip in August we will start from Miami. We will see New York, Niagara Falls, Chicago, visit the largest motorcycle site in Stuzhas, San Francisco, San Diego, pass through the Death Valley in Las Vegas, Texas and Key West - the southernmost point of America. In general, I plan to overcome 15 thousand kilometers.

Now I "smear" before such a long trip. I went to Samara to drink "Zhigulevsky beer", in Murmansk - to eat Kamchatka Crab, recently returned from Chechnya, plans - in July, a trip to North Cape, Cape in the north of Norway.

From the last trips, I really liked the motorical in Chechnya. In June, the Wild Division Club conducted the first motorious in the Chechen Republic, which was devoted to the 100th anniversary of the equestrian division. I liked the format of the event, which was very different from our usual motofestivals, integral attributes of which are beer, vodka and striptease. It seems to me that all this has already been found. In Chechnya, the national music played at the festival, there were dancing, local treats.

For a whole day, we were drunk to the mountain lake Kesenaam, where we were met by a cousin Ramzan Kadyrov. We were treated with a soup from a huge chamber, a lamb, potatoes ...

"I used to think that there are no motion in Chechnya. But on the streets I saw excellent motorcycles. " Photo: Pavle Kobyak site "sat down and drove"

- Brother Ramzan Kadyrov is also a motorcyclist?

Yes, he also rides a motorcycle. I remember that the warmth of this trip. There was a very soulful reception.

- Have a lot of guests from St. Petersburg?

This year, only four motorcyclists from our city arrived at the festival. I think the next year will already go whole motoclubs.

I tell all friends how beautiful there is beautiful, safely, civilized. No cattle, which many fear. The local population even says that all chams are now in Moscow. Here they did not succeed, and they went to the capital in search of a beautiful life.

The Grozny himself is impressive, sparkles thousands of lights. Fountains, mosques, tracks. I used to think that there are no motion in Chechnya. But on the streets I saw excellent motorcycles. In October, there is a desire to go there with family.

This will not say about the neighboring Republic of Dagestan, where dusty, dirty and unsafe. There is information that there are still industries "Forest Brothers". If they are afraid of the local population, then this is an indicator for tourists. Meet people with guns - there is a norm. I do not recommend going there.

Give the Board of Beginner Travelers, how to prepare for a bushing, what is worth paying attention to?

In my opinion, a psychological attitude is very important. I have a friend who says: "Fear and you will reach." It seems to me that you need to be careful, but you also need to believe in success and be positive.

Be sure to check before the trip technical condition Your motorcycle. It is important good equipment. Only thanks to the strong Schle, I stayed alive after the accident in Georgia. No need to forget about thermal underwear.

Collect a first-aid kit, take plasters, painkillers. Can be useful and ammonia. If you are going to the mountains, then the height is likely to appear.

On the trip, be sure to have two or three phones. One can break, the second will steal, and in touch you need to be always.

Before traveling abroad, open your passports, driver's license. Take prints with you, scanned files save on flash drive, as well as email. If trouble makes it, you can always quickly provide information about yourself in the police. There are cases when people are simply lost and they cannot find them.

- How does your companion of life refer to your mothers?

We often travel together, ride snowboards, bicycles, melt on rafts. But in the flushing, she did not fit. It is hard for her. Because she understands how important it is for me, then she let me go to such long trips.

It is interesting

Pavel Kobyak annually travels on a motorcycle more than 40,000 kilometers across Russia, Europe, USA, exotic countries. His first trip from St. Petersburg to Moscow committed at the age of 16. A little later explored as a tourist the entire Leningrad region on the bus. Overcame a week by bike 800 km around Lake Ladoga.

For your information

The international portal "sat down and went" is devoted to traveling in Russia and the world.
The main task of the project is to develop independent tourism in Russia and help beginner travelers.
On the site you can find interactive maps, videos, articles, news and blogs telling about traveling on various vehicles: from snowmobiles and motorcycles to SUVs and bicycles.
For beginners, detailed routes are posted on the portal, refueling, motor-sash services, local motoclubs, hotels, catering establishments - with reviews of tourists, as well as contacts for whom you can seek help.

On the eve, the founder of the movement "sat down and drove", the writer and traveler Pavel Kobyak presented in the St. Petersburg library on the Troitsk field his seventh book about a trip from the northern capital to Magadan and talked to readers. It turned out that the next year Paul has big plans: with the team he plans to go to the Crimea to chat with the local population and make a film about life before and after the Russian Crimea, to come back to Lugansk and Donetsk and implement the project board games On the topic of travel from Murmansk to Magadan on the motorcycles.

At the meeting in the library, Paul told the Petersburgers about the failed dinner at Dyatlov's pass, overcoming the blurred crossing and impassable roads on motorcycles and snowmates and plans associated not only with travels.

The most important thing from the conversation is in our material.

About blurred bridge and overcoming

The most interesting began when we drove along Lena and Kolyma's tracks. Two thousand kilometers on the uncharted road in the absence of asphalt - perhaps it was the most interesting journey. It so happened that on the federal highway "Kolyma" washed the bridge over the Elga River - there it often happens; The builders laid out on the project five hundred meters, but in fact built only three hundred. Two hundred meters sprinkled with embankment, it rained and the bridge washed away. One hundred kilometers back is the nearest refueling, no connection, there is no food, there is no water, there is nothing. Ahead is only blurry bridge. We safely immersed motorcycles in the boats with local Yakuts and crossed them onto the shore. I got to Magadan in two days, then I returned to my father, because he lived there - the camp there was formed a big, about fifty cars. Kaluga, Novosibirsk, Tyumen - People came from all over the country, rested in a blurred bridge and simply waited [This trip, the team of movement "sat down and went" took a documentary called "Bridge" - about the blurred crossing and how people survive in these Conditions. The picture will be shown in Helsinki, China and India, - approx. Ed.].

By itself, the route of Kolyma is very interesting, there are many bears, but on the most expensive we did not see them, only in Magadan. But when it rains, it is necessary to understand that, for example, we managed to drive, and our friends rode three days.

About Dyatlov's pass and sensation

When we stopped at Dyatlov's pass with tents, filmed a movie with a zero budget for three iphones. The atmosphere is felt, do not believe - we thought there to organize lunch there, but when we rose, there was a crazy wind. We hid behind the monument, and there was no desire to stay for a long time. We descended in ten minutes, but after us there was a group, and the sun was already shining. We were not lucky.

About the trip to Yamal, Music Festival and Lukoil, about which we do not know everything

This year we rolled around the KhMAO YNAO region. The idea was to come to Yamal and ride on the oil gas regions, see how people live - oil workers, gas, and learn from where [the] gasoline is taken. We are accustomed to come to refuel, insert a gun in Lukoil, but I don't know elementally how the abbreviation is decrypted. In the title three cities - Langepas, Urai and Kogalym. We drove there, and there we met "generals" of this company. And the city of Yugorsk is a place where the largest transport node is essential. All gas is first collecting there [In February 2019, the film Paul Kobyak and the expedition participants about the life of gas and oil workers will be released. According to Paul, most likely, the picture will be shown in the "Aurora" cinema, - approx. Ed.].

A trip to KhMAO and Yanao, perhaps, was the hardest, because it was difficult to leave friends and comrades - the reception was so Siberian and warm. We have a motorcycle community, and in every city we have friends, bike posts that meet and wait. For this trip, there was a lot of cities to recruit, and on October 20, we spend the music festival "sang and drove", where guests from 60 cities and 15 countries will arrive. If you take our city-wide events of Harley Days and "Motorostolic", there are no such guests there. And to fly from Magadan, Sakhalin, Chita, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, KhMAO and YNAO, the entire Baltic States, a circle from Switzerland, from Kazakhstan, Moldova, and so on. This year, I decided to organize a musical competition among motorcyclists, where teams from Murmansk, Perm, Smolensk will arrive, and we will have a certain battle for the best musical performance [The concert will be held on the Gazgolder site on the waterfront embankment, D.74, - approx. Ed.].
