The modest result in the domestic market stimulates Borgward to activity on the export front: according to Ulrich Volker, at the moment the car certification process has been launched in almost 30 countries. Russia in the list of priorities is not in the first place: the Volker explained that the company is now concentrated on the launch of sales in the countries of the Middle East and the contract with the importer in Qatar has already been signed. The next priority market is South America, and in 2018 Borgward will begin the construction of the plant in Germany. Thus, the appearance in Russia should be expected no earlier than the next year.
