Today we will talk about a good car Audi A4 B8, which is quite popular in our country. It was shown to people in Frankfurt in 2007, and the station wagon (Avant) was shown a little later. In the end, everything was replaced, that the new body received a new design and this was a big design change, unlike previous versions.

In 2011, the Audi A4 B8 model underwent restyling and changed enough to keep up with modern cars. Today we will talk just about the restyled version.

Exterior

The exterior of the car is, of course, still modern and attractive. You will no longer get a huge amount of views in big cities, as people are used to such cars.


The muzzle has changed quite a lot, it got an even longer hood, on which there are embossed lines that look stylish. Narrow headlights with LED filling and a lens are used, the headlights look aggressive, which pleases. Between the optics is an 8-angle grille with a thin chrome trim. The bumper has embossed lines to emphasize the headlights, and there is also a lip, small fog lights and air intakes.

The profile features slightly flared wheel arches to maintain muscular styling. The arches are connected using a stamping line at the bottom, going from bottom to top. The upper features a straight stamping line designed to maintain premium styling as well.


The rear optics are also LED, they also have an aggressive appearance. The shape of the trunk lid forms a rather big spoiler, which is definitely a plus for aerodynamics. The rear bumper has a groove that looks good and also has a plastic insert on it.

The dimensions of the body of the Audi A4 B8, of course, have changed compared to the previous version:

  • length - 4703 mm;
  • width - 1826 mm;
  • height - 1427 mm;
  • wheelbase - 2808 mm;
  • clearance - 120 mm.

There is also a station wagon version and, most surprisingly, there is an extended Long version, which is a rarity for this class.

The interior of the car has been completely redesigned, now it looks much more chic and modern. The driver will get a 3-spoke steering wheel with multimedia controls, upholstered in leather. Behind the wheel is a large and beautiful dashboard Audi A4 B8, which has two huge analog speedometer and tachometer sensors, as well as a rather large informative on-board computer.

The center console is decorated with a chrome insert and a small recessed display of the multimedia and navigation system. Below it are the air deflectors, and even below the CD slot and a few buttons for control. The separate climate control unit is a display, knobs with beautiful backlighting, and a few buttons. The tunnel immediately meets us with a small niche for little things, then there is a large gear selector, to the left of it is the parking brake button, and next to it is the engine start button. Near the gearbox selector there are two washers and several buttons responsible for the multimedia system, the location is convenient. Further we are greeted by cup holders, a niche for small items and an armrest.


The seating is good, in front there are excellent leather seats with a little lateral support, heating and electric adjustment, but as an option. The back row sports a sofa for three passengers who can comfortably sit there and enjoy the ride, and there is also an armrest. There is ample space in both the front and back.

The trunk of this model is not bad, its volume is 480 liters, and if you want something more, then you can fold the seats and get already 962 liters.

The model has not so many motors in the lineup as previous generations, nevertheless there are enough of them and there are plenty to choose from. In total, there are 6 power units in the lineup, these are 4 gasoline and 2 diesel, let's talk about all in more detail.

  1. The base engine is a 4-cylinder TFSI turbo petrol engine with a volume of 1.8 liters. This motor produces 120 horsepower and 230 H * m of torque. It accelerates the sedan to a hundred in 10.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 208 km / h. At the same time, the consumption is 8 and a half liters in city mode and 6 liters on the highway.
  2. The second engine is distinguished by an increased turbine pressure, which, as a result, made it possible to increase the power to 170 horsepower and to 320 H * m of torque. Acceleration was reduced to 8 seconds, and the maximum speed increased to 230 km / h. Consumption decreased by 1 liter in city mode, and on the highway fell by almost one and a half liters.
  3. The diesel engine Audi A4 B8 TDI is a 2-liter turbo engine that produces 150 horses and 320 units of torque. The dynamics here is, in principle, not bad, 9 seconds to hundreds and 210 km / h maximum speed. This engine pleases with fuel consumption, because you will have less than 6 liters in the city and almost 4 liters on the highway, and diesel fuel itself is cheaper.
  4. There is also the same engine, but with an increased power up to 177 horses and a torque of up to 380 H * m. He will already accelerate the sedan to one hundred kilometers per hour in 8 seconds, and the maximum will allow him to go 222 km / h. His consumption is about the same.
  5. Also in the lineup there is a 2-liter gasoline turbo internal combustion engine, which in its stock has 225 horses and 350 torque. There are good dynamics here, it is 7 seconds to hundreds and 250 km / h of maximum speed. At the same time, the consumption is about the same as that of the first engine, even less along the highway.
  6. Finally, the last and most powerful engine in the lineup is the V6 gasoline turbo. This engine with a volume of 3 liters produces 272 horses and 400 H * m of torque. It accelerates in 5.4 seconds, and the maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h. Its consumption is, of course, the highest, 11 liters in the city and 6 on the highway.

The gearboxes are offered completely different, there are 6-speed mechanics, variators, as well as a 7-speed S-Tronic robot. The drive of a car can also be different, there are front-wheel drive versions, and there are versions with the quattro all-wheel drive system.

In terms of reliability, all motors have it, and in particular, previous versions have it, so if you want to buy a used old version, you can safely take a car with a mileage of 200,000 kilometers. In terms of speed, even the first generation engines have the characteristics that budget class cars now have, while the first generation used is cheaper than a new budget class car.

Regarding the cost, the situation is as follows, the models are offered on the secondary market at completely different prices. Sellers are asking from 800,000 rubles and reach 2 million rubles. The fact is that it all depends on the engine, configuration and the availability of additional options, which the manufacturer offered a lot.

Still it would not be so - this D-class model, or rather its premium segment, accounts for over 30% of the total sales of cars of this brand in the world. In 2007, at the International Frankfurt Motor Show, the premiere of the Audi A4 sedan with the B8 index took place. The end of 2011 marked the release of an updated model to the market, which received the designation FL (facelift) to its index.

The Audi A4 sedan cannot be categorized as ultra-trendy gadgets. Here, on the contrary, four rings from Ingolstadt have long been a sign of exemplary business style. The car looks elegant and strict at the same time, in addition, there are notes of a certain sportiness. Looking at the A4, you instantly understand that this is exactly Audi, the main thing here is not to confuse it with some of the older models.
The most noticeable detail of the front end is the lighting design. It catches the eye with a spectacular LED "light strip" that follows the contour of the headlight, thereby giving the look a certain aggression. In addition, we can note the branded trapezoidal radiator grille with slightly chamfered top edges and a bumper with integrated fog lights. All this together gives the car a rather predatory look.

Clean lines create a classic and elegant silhouette. The shoulder line, the extended bonnet and the energetic body contours impart the sporty A4 character. Well, alloy wheels with a diameter of 16, 17 or 18 inches make the appearance of the sedan complete. The rear of the car is made according to all the canons of the corporate design of Audi, and it stands out with lamps with smooth outlines and LED "stuffing", and double branch pipes of the exhaust system.

External dimensions of the three-volume model are 4701 mm in length, 1427 mm in height and 1826 mm in width (including side mirrors - 2040 mm). The wheelbase of the German model reads 2808 mm, and the ground clearance (clearance) is 135 mm.

The interior of the "fourth and fourth" is distinguished by excellent ergonomics, functionality, high quality of the materials used and the level of equipment. There are four types of seats available for the Audi A4, but each of them seems to be cut to the figure, have excellent lateral support and many adjustments, including a movable popliteal roller. Riders of any size will be able to sit comfortably in the front seats of the sedan. The rear sofa has three headrests and three seat belts, but only two passengers can comfortably sit on it. The reason is that the transmission tunnel is too high, which causes discomfort to the legs of the person sitting in the middle, and the pillow in this place is stiff. But the second row of seats accepts two riders with all hospitality, separating a sufficient supply of space in all directions and a high level of comfort.

The luggage compartment here, in terms of volume, is far from a record - 480 liters, but it is a rectangular box with smooth walls, and the wheel arches and hinges do not eat up the volume and do not interfere with the transportation of luggage. If the rear seats are freed from passengers, the backrest can be folded in a 40:60 ratio, thereby obtaining 962 liters of usable cargo volume and a flat platform.

Specifications. On the Russian market, the Audi A4 sedan is offered with seven engines, four of which are petrol TFSI and three diesel TDI. First, about the petrol part of the premium model from Ingolstadt.

  • The initial gasoline engine has a volume of 1.8 liters and is endowed with turbocharging and direct fuel injection. Depending on the level of boost, it generates 120 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque or 170 "horses" and 320 Nm, respectively. The motor is combined with a 6-speed "mechanics" or multitronic variator. With a more powerful unit, the proprietary quattro all-wheel drive system is also installed. The 120-horsepower sedan accelerates to the first hundred in 10.5 seconds, and its capabilities are limited at around 200 km / h. On average, it needs 6.2-6.5 liters of fuel per 100 km of run on the combined cycle. "A-fourth" with a 170-horsepower engine exchanges the first hundred in 7.9-8.3 seconds, gaining a maximum of 225-230 km / h and consuming 5.7-6.2 liters of fuel, depending on the modification.
  • This is followed by a 2.0-liter "turbo four" with a capacity of 225 horsepower, developing 350 Nm of peak thrust. In tandem with this engine, a 6-speed "mechanics", a multitronic variator or a 7-band "robot" S tronic with a pair of clutches is offered. Acceleration of such a car from 0 to 100 km / h varies from 6.4 to 6.9 seconds, and the "maximum speed" is electronically limited at around 250 km / h. The appetite of such an "A4" is quite moderate - in the combined cycle it "eats" from 5.8 to 6.7 liters of gasoline.
  • The flagship is the 3.0-liter V6, producing 272 "horses" and 400 Nm of torque. It relies exclusively on the 7-speed S tronic and quattro all-wheel drive. This Audi A4 "shoots" from zero to the first hundred in 5.4 seconds, and its top speed is 250 km / h. Such a powerful car consumes 8.1 liters of fuel per centner of the track in the combined cycle.

Now about diesels.

  • The "junior" is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with 150 horsepower and 320 Nm. To help him are assigned a continuously variable multitronic variator and front-wheel drive. One should not expect impressive dynamic and high-speed characteristics from this engine - the 150-horsepower car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.1 seconds and picks up the maximum possible speed of 210 km / h. The main advantage of a diesel engine is fuel efficiency. This Audi A4 consumes only 4.8 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers.
  • The role of "middle" is performed by a four-cylinder turbo unit with direct fuel injection. With a power of 177 forces, its limiting moment is set at around 380 Nm. Such a sedan does the exercise to set the first hundred in 7.9 seconds, and its peak speed is 222 km / h. The indicators are not bad, as is the consumption of diesel fuel - only 4.8 liters per 100 kilometers.
  • "Senior" - a 3.0-liter turbodiesel with six V-shaped cylinders. Its power is 245 "horses", and the maximum torque is 500 Nm. It works in conjunction with the 7-speed "robot" S tronic and all-wheel drive quattro transmission. This amount of horsepower provides excellent dynamics - 5.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h, as well as a speed of 250 km / h. At the same time, fuel consumption clearly does not ruin the owner - a 245-horsepower unit is content with only 5.7 liters of fuel.

As for the suspension, there is a double wishbone independent structure with stabilizers at the front, and a multi-link independent structure with trapezoidal levers and a bearing beam at the rear.

Options and prices. In 2015, the most affordable Audi A4 sedan with a 120-horsepower engine and a 6-speed manual transmission is offered on the Russian market at a price of 1,480,000 rubles. The list of equipment for such a car includes six airbags, various electronic assistants, an air conditioner, a standard audio system, a start-stop system, full power accessories and 16-inch rollers.
The four-wheel drive petrol version will cost a minimum of 1,754,000 rubles. The "top" version of the Audi A4 sedan with a 272-horsepower gasoline engine, S tronic and quattro all-wheel drive costs from 2,600,000 rubles, the "top-end diesel" is 100,000 rubles more expensive. In addition, a wide range of options and additional equipment is available for this model, which can significantly increase the price tag for a car.

The fifth generation Audi A4 with the in-plant B9 index debuted in 2015, and four years later, at a closed exhibition in Ingolstadt, the German manufacturer demonstrated an updated version of the family. It should be noted that the new product is the first, but very deep restyling. The car received a modernized line of power units, a modified central panel layout, several additional options and a redesigned exterior. Despite the fact that visually, the car has not received radical changes, most of the hinged panels are completely new. From its predecessor, only the hood, roof and trunk lid or the fifth door, in the case of the station wagon, remained. A smaller radiator grill can be seen on the front. It retained its hexagonal shape, however, it lost its chrome ribs. The headlamps are also refurbished. By default, they are LED, and for an additional fee, matrix ones with adaptive high beam. The sections of daytime running lights have also changed. Aft, you can see new brake lights with unusual graphics and a pair of massive exhaust pipes.

Audi A4 is a five-seater mid-size car of the premium segment. It is available in two versions: a four-door sedan and a station wagon. After restyling, its overall dimensions are: length 4762 mm, width 1847 mm, height 1428 mm for the sedan and 1435 mm for the station wagon, and the wheelbase is 2820 mm. The model is based on the modular MLB platform. It implies a fully independent multi-link suspension arrangement. In the initial versions, conventional double-acting shock absorbers are installed in a circle, and for an additional fee, adaptive struts with comfortable and sporty modes of operation can be ordered. As for the size of the trunk, the sedan is able to offer up to 460 liters. The station wagon is somewhat more spacious. With the backrests of the second row raised and loaded under the top shelf, about 495 liters remain in the back. If you sacrifice the rear seats, you can get up to 1495 liters.

Specifications

Five different powertrains were announced at the start of sales. Gasoline Audi A4 will receive a line of two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Basic versions develop 150 and 190 horsepower and 270-320 Nm of torque. They come with only seven-speed preselective robotic boxes with two S tronic clutches. The drive is exclusively front-wheel drive. Older versions will receive a more efficient engine with 245 horses and 370 Nm of thrust. It works with the same gearbox and proprietary Quattro all-wheel drive system. Diesel versions are available in two versions. The first is a turbocharged inline four with 190 forces and 400 Nm with a robotic gearbox. There is also a more powerful version with a V-shaped six. It generates 231 hp and 500 Nm. The transmission is a classic eight-speed hydromechanical automatic and an all-wheel drive system.

Equipment

The main change in the interior of the Audi A4 is the updated multimedia system. She received an enlarged screen (10.1 versus 8.3 inches from its predecessor). Moreover, it has become sensory. For a more pleasant tactile sensation, the manufacturer has installed a small spring. Also, the controller, which was previously responsible for control, disappeared from the center console. The optional virtual instrument panel has been changed. It has increased functionality and image resolution. Other changes worth noting include a new steering wheel, an expanded list of trim materials and interior ambient lighting.

The mid-size premium sedan Audi A4 of the fifth generation (with the internal designation "B9") debuted at the end of June 2015 - on the Internet ... for several months), it went on sale in the main markets (including in Russia).

As a result of "reincarnation" - the Ingolstadt "a-four" remained faithful to the corporate style, but completely renewed its equipment (while adding in size, but throwing off "extra pounds").

The appearance of the "fifth" Audi A4 did not come as a big surprise - the three-volume box retained its recognizable shape, although it was transformed in accordance with the latest trends in the corporate style of the brand from Ingolstadt.

The car looks beautiful and presentable, and considerable credit for this belongs to the front end: a trapezoidal radiator grill, an aggressive bumper and stylish lighting equipment with L-shaped running lights, reminiscent of a lightning bolt (bi-xenon by default, optionally LED or matrix).

Austere, but not devoid of dynamism, the silhouette of the German "four" demonstrates correct and harmonious proportions, the solidity of which is added by the embossed wheel arches that can accommodate disks ranging from 16 to 19 inches.

The rear of the sedan is made in a calm and laconic style, but it is not deprived of modern attributes: LED lights of the original shape and a raised bumper with a pseudo-diffuser.

Depending on the engine, the machine has a single or twin tailpipe at one end, or a pair of pipes spaced apart at the ends.

As a result of the generation change, the dimensions of the Audi A4 have not changed much: 4726 mm in length, 1842 mm in width and 1427 mm in height (the first two indicators, respectively, added 25 mm and 16 mm). The wheelbase of the "German" is 2820 mm, and the amount of ground clearance depends on the suspension: 135 mm in the basic version, with an emphasis on comfort - 10 mm lower, and for sports - 23 mm lower.

The interior of the "A4 fifth generation" is a combination of avant-garde and classics, and most obviously it concerns sedans with a "virtual cockpit", which is a digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch screen under the usual visor. In simpler versions, it is replaced by a simple panel with analog dials and a small "scoreboard" in the middle. Directly in front of the driver, there is a multifunction steering wheel, the design of which is directly influenced by the level of equipment.

In the very center of the presentable front panel there is a “tablet” of the multimedia complex with a diagonal of 8.3 inches, below which a wide air conditioning control unit with an individual display, a pair of “washers” and several buttons “took up defense”. Modern design is echoed by high-quality finishing materials (expensive leather, real wood and aluminum) and a premium level of workmanship.

For the "fifth A4" there are anatomical chairs with a well-thought-out profile, pronounced support on the sides, a wide range of settings and heating (optionally also with ventilation, and even with electrical adjustment of the lumbar support). The increased dimensions of the body also affected the organization of the rear passenger seats - there was more space on all fronts.

Amenities for a fee include a 10.1-inch multimedia center screen and individual climate settings.

The trunk of the sedan does not shine with capacity, but 480 liters should accommodate without problems.

Specifications. On the Russian market, the 5th generation Audi A4 is offered with a wide range of four-cylinder turbo engines, in tandem to each of which a 7-band S tronic "robot" is allocated.

By default, the car is equipped with a front-wheel drive transmission, and for the most powerful gasoline unit, a quattro system with a limited-slip differential is available, which divides the thrust in a ratio of 40:60 in favor of the rear (if necessary, it can go forward up to 70% of the available potential, and back - up to 85%) ...

The gasoline part is presented in three options:

  • the base one is a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine with direct fuel supply, producing 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque in the range from 1500 to 3000 rpm. It allows the German D-sedan to “shoot” from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.9 seconds and gain 210 km / h “top speed”, consuming an average of 4.9 liters of fuel in combined mode.
  • it is followed in the hierarchy by the 2.0 TFSI ultra engine, equipped with direct fuel injection, a turbocharger and electronic coolant level control technology, which is available in two boost levels. Its returns include:
    • 190 "horses" and 320 Nm of thrust at 1450-4200 rpm,
    • or 249 forces 370 Nm of limiting torque at 1600-4500 rpm.

    In the first case, the “fifth” Audi A4 spends 7.3 seconds to accelerate to the first hundred, in the second - 1.5 seconds less, the maximum speed reaches 240 and 250 km / h, respectively. In the combined driving cycle, the three-volume box consumes an average of 4.8-5.7 liters of fuel per 100 km of run.

  • Available for the "four" in the back of the B9 and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel, which, depending on the modification, generates:
    • 150 "mares" of power and 320 Nm of maximum thrust at 1500-3250 rpm
    • or 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque ranging from 1750 to 3000 rpm.

    With the "junior" unit, the car exchanges 100 km / h after 8.7 seconds and maximum "storms" 219 km / h, with the "senior" these figures are 7.7 seconds and 237 km / h, respectively. The "appetite" of such a sedan varies from 3.7 to 4.1 liters in the combined cycle.

It is not excluded that in the future more efficient diesel engines will be brought to our country - V-shaped "six" with a volume of 3.0 liters, producing from 218 to 272 "horses" of power and from 400 to 600 Nm of potential.

The fifth generation of the Audi A4 is built on a modernized MLB "bogie", which is created on the basis of high-strength steel, "winged" metal and composite materials, which allowed, depending on the installed engine, to save up to 120 kilograms of weight. A five-link suspension is mounted at both the front and rear, in which the upper arms are connected to the bodywork for optimal rigidity.

Optionally, the "German" is equipped with adaptive shock absorbers with two settings - comfortable and sporty.

The steering of the car "flaunts" an electromechanical amplifier (for a surcharge - with a variable gear ratio), and the braking system - with disc mechanisms on all wheels (in front - with ventilation).

Options and prices. In the Russian market, the fifth generation Audi A4 in 2018 is offered in three equipment options - "Base", "Design" and "Sport".

  • For a base car equipped with a 150-horsepower engine and a front-wheel drive transmission, dealers ask a minimum of 1,970,000 rubles.
