Mitsubishi lancer 10 is a car that has been produced by Mitsubishi since 1973. This car is one of the more popular vehicles.

All models of the Mitsubishi lancer were and are in demand, but the real interest of buyers arose after the release of the lancer 10. It is its sporty bright appearance, safety, ease of operation and comfort that is the dream of every motorist.

At the heart of the new lancer 10 are two models Mitsubishi-cX (which was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show) and the Concept-Sportback (unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show). In 2007, the new Mitsubishi lancer 10 appeared and was presented in Detroit at the auto show.

In the same year, it went on sale as a 2008 model. In this car, a new body has been developed - Mitsubishi RISE. In 2011, the version of the car was updated. Along with the update, a new name has appeared - Sportback. These cars have different engines:

Types of gearboxes on Mitsubishi Lancer 10

  • Variable speed drive
  • Mechanics

The advantage of the variator box, which is a subspecies of the automatic transmission, the gear shifting is smooth, while the car does not feel any jolts. This gearbox is installed on all 10 Lansler models with engine sizes: 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0 liters.

The advantage of a manual transmission is that it is five-speed. The quick response of gear changes and engine response is a novelty for car enthusiasts.

These transmissions provide your vehicle with ease of movement and top speed in 10 seconds.

This car model provides three types of equipment: "Invite", "Invite +" and "Intense".

The simplest and most basic configuration - Invite, provides a set of options that are required. This configuration is available only for a car with a 1.5L engine. The equipment includes:

  • Air conditioning
  • Heated glass
  • Airbags
  • Electric drive
  • Audio preparation
  • breezoviks,
  • On-board computer,
  • leather trim of some elements of the car interior,
  • LCD - display,
  • wood finishing of interior elements.

For vehicles with a 2.0L engine. A complete set with the maximum number of options is available - "Intense":

  • Climate control
  • 5 airbags
  • sports suspension with a stretch between the front shock absorber struts
  • front aerodynamic fairing painted in body color
  • front fog lights, rear spoiler and side skirts
  • CD / MP3 changer for 6 discs

There are three configuration options for the Lancer: Intense, Invite, Invite +

Invite: With this configuration, the car has mud flaps, on-board computer, leather trim for some elements of the car interior, LCD display, wood trim for interior elements.

Lancer Ralliart

Budget fans will find plenty of entertainment at the 2010 Ralliart. Utilizing the Evolution dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive system, the Ralliart serves decent performance for thousands less.

What's new for 2010

In 2010, the versatile five-door Sportback unites the Ralliart family.

Driving and impressions

As a supposed compromise between the base Lancer and Evolution, the Ralliart can be considered a success. There is the usual turbo battle, but once that threshold has been crossed (around 3000 rpm), the engine willingly unloads all of its available power, approaching its 6500 rpm.

Compounding the turbo problem is the new TC-SST transmission. Like many automatic manual transmissions, the TC-SST cannot react immediately when the driver first presses the accelerator pedal, which can aggravate the overcrowded stop.

On the positive side, quick gear changes can be done manually. Drivers are more likely to use this feature during energetic drives when the vehicle's handling capabilities are shining. Like the Evolution, the Ralliart rewards its owner with responsive steering, great brakes and low body throw.

Featured functions

For Ralliart buyers who plan to spend time on the track or enjoy twisting winding rear roads, the TC-SST offers a Super Sport mode that allows quick changes using magnesium paddles or a central derailleur.

The Ralliart's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, borrowed from the Lancer Evolution, provides excellent handling when the driver wants to explore the limits of the vehicle. S-AWC includes three modes designed to adapt to different road conditions: Tarmac, Gravel and Snow.

Car details

interior

Move inside the Lancer Ralliart and you'll find a few accents that serve to complement the updated look. To reflect the sporty character of the vehicle, aluminum pedals have been added along with a leather steering wheel and shift knob. Upgraded upholstery is standard, and the front Recaro seats are reserved for the option list. Getting in and out of the Recaros can be a challenge due to the high side supports; the comfortable back seat gives ample room for mid-sized adults.

exterior

When it was redesigned for 2008, the Mitsubishi Lancer took on a more striking look, which was improved using the 2010 Ralliart. The Ralliart differs from the smaller Lancers with smoked taillights, front foglights, 18-inch alloy wheels, restyled front and rear bumpers, and chrome twin exhaust tips.

The new Sportback model is equipped with a high-speed rear hatch with rear wing spoiler and rear wiper / washer. A ventilated aluminum hood has also been added. The result is a model that is more aggressive than the Lancer GTS, but not nearly as menacing as the Evolution.

Known standard equipment

The Ralliart is the most expensive Mitsubishi Lancer and offers a wide range of standard equipment. Features include an automatic climate control system that's easy to use, a height-adjustable driver's seat, a convenient auxiliary input jack for your iPod, and a hands-free Bluetooth function.

In addition, the standard Mitsubishi FAT FAST-hands-free login system, a 140-watt AM / FM / CD / MP3 audio system with six speakers, and a leather steering wheel with audio and cruise control. Passenger safety is regulated by front, front and side airbags, as well as a knee airbag for the driver and traction and stability control systems.

Known accessories

Mitsubishi is offering two major upgrades for the Lancer Ralliart, one of which is a navigation device with a 40GB hard drive that stores maps and music files. Next Recaro Sport Pack, bring

In 2013, a new type of car came out - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution

The icon itself, the legendary Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, is the high-performance variant of the Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan. Weighing less than 3,600 pounds in standard format, the Lancer Evolution is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder all-wheel drive engine and a long list of engineering upgrades. Here are five more facts about the 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

  • Visually, the Lancer Evolution sets itself apart from other Lancer models with its redesigned front end with larger air intakes, air intakes and vents, front vane fans, front and rear fenders, a rear diffuser panel through which dual exhaust vents pass, and a rear spoiler designed to create additional downforce at higher travel speeds. Special lightweight 18-inch aluminum wheels shod with P245 / 40R18 tires with asymmetric tread pattern.
  • Lancer Evolution Turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine generates 291 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 300 lb-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm and zings up to 7000 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard on the Lancer Evolution GSR. Lancer Evolution MR models receive a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (TC-SST) with paddle shifters and driver-selected Normal, Sport and S-Sport modes. The TC-SST automatic manual transmission shifts faster than a conventional manual or automatic transmission, Mitsubishi says.
  • Each Lancer Evolution system is equipped with Mitsubishi All-Wheel Control (S-AWC), which includes an active center differential, an active brake control, a rear differential, and a limited slip spiral differential.The S-AWC system provides Tarmac, Gravel modes and Snow, which are selected by the driver.
  • The 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution features an aluminum lid, fenders, roofs and bumpers, and for better weight distribution, the automaker finds a battery and washer reservoir in the trunk of the car, which is one of the reasons it is only 6.9 cc. by volume. As a result of these actions, measured as a percentage of the total vehicle weight, the weight of the Lancer Evolution GSR is distributed between 56.7 / 43.3 front to rear, and the weight of the Lancer Evolution MR is distributed 57.4 / 42.6 front to rear.
  • In addition to the powerful engine and sophisticated all-wheel drive system, the 2013 Lancer Evolution is equipped with service brakes with 13.8-inch front ventilated discs, clamped 4-piston calipers, and 13-inch rear ventilated disc brakes with 2-piston calipers. The Evolution also uses an inverted strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension with aluminum control arms.

Mitsubishi lancer 10 is a new generation car that is assembled in Japan. It is a fairly reliable vehicle, the price of which is acceptable, but at the same time - meets the quality. All faults of previous Mitsubishi generations have been corrected in this model. Since the Mitsubishi lancer 10 is already a little outdated, the article contains the "new items" of this car brand.

    The tenth version of the Lancer from Mitsubishi was presented to the public in early 2007, and after a couple of months its sales began.

    At the beginning of sales, Lancer was offered with three gasoline units with volumes of 1.5 ( 4A91), 1.8(4B10) and 2.0 liters ( 4B11), and with a capacity of 109, 143 and 150 forces, respectively. In 2011, a 1.6-liter ( 4A92) 117-horsepower engine. In 2012, 1.5 and 2.0-liter engines were no longer installed on the Mitsubishi Lancer. There was also a small-scale version of the 2.4 liter engine (4B12). All modifications included front-wheel drive, 2.0L engines. optionally could be equipped with 4WD.

    Types and modifications of 10th generation Mitsubishi Lancer engines.

    All units of this car were equipped with a timing chain drive, the chain resource is more than 300 thousand km. Typical Lancer malfunctions include a leak in the front crankshaft oil seals after a 100,000th run. Moreover, this malfunction should be eliminated as soon as possible - the flowing oil enters the drive belt damper and disables it.

    The O-ring on the exhaust pipe often burns out at a mileage close to 100 thousand. The vehicle will then start to make a growling sound. Lambda probes travel 120-150 thousand kilometers.

    The 1.5-liter Lancer begins to eat oil a little (up to 300 grams per thousand km) at 100-150 thousand kilometers. The reason lies in the stuck piston rings. "Engine error" on the Lancer panel, which periodically pops up for no reason, then disappears - this is a consequence of improper operation of the ECU. It is treated by flashing the control unit.

    All Lancers could be equipped with a five-speed manual transmission. The boxes in 1.5-liter cars manufactured before 2008 had a factory defect, and therefore were not particularly reliable. Semi-axle oil seals most often flowed in these boxes. There were also cases of incomprehensible noises in the operation of the manual transmission, the synchronizer of the first gear failed on runs of 50-70 thousand km, the box could be pushed between the first and second gears, and the shift lever could jam in the first gear position. There was no unequivocal treatment for problems with the box. Someone was helped by the new clutch, and someone did nothing at all - "it passed by itself."

    The automatic transmission was installed on 1.5 and 1.6-liter Lancers, and the variator was installed on versions with 1.8 and 2.0 liters engines. Both boxes are quite reliable, and do not cause serious mass complaints.

    As for the Lancer's suspension, the front shock absorbers are the first to fail, which will be noticeable by the traces of oil on their rods. The hind ones live more - almost 120 thousand.

    After replacing the front shock absorbers, get ready to change the bushings and stabilizer links. The shock absorber support bearings will have to be changed at a run of 100-120 thousand km.

    The bearings of the front hubs of Lancer live 90-120 thousand km, the rear ones can last almost 150 thousand, and they only go together with the hub.

    120-150 thousand km - the resource of the Lancer's wishbones. On these levers, the ball joints can be changed separately. It is not worthwhile to repeatedly replace the ball joints - the seat wears out over time, which is fraught with the fact that it can be pulled out of the lever on the go. Rear springs can "get tired" and sag after 150 thousand kilometers.

    The ends of the steering rods, like the rods themselves, take care of almost 100 thousand kilometers. The steering rack usually "gives up" also after the 100,000th run, and this is manifested by a knock. It can be treated with restoration or replacement.

    After 40-50 thousand kilometers, brake calipers often begin to strum. It is treated by replacing the guides with similar ones, but with a rubber seal. The handbrake pads can also rattle. It is treated by adjusting them. Versions with a variator and automatic transmission were recalled by the manufacturer due to a factory defect in the brake cylinder.

    The body of this car is very resistant to the impact of an aggressive environment and is not prone to corrosion. But the paintwork, as on most modern cars, is easily scratched.

    The salon of the tenth Lancer over time begins to make sounds. The leather-trimmed steering wheel (as well as the gearshift lever) and "aluminum" inserts after 70,000 run are usually already significantly wiped off.

    The electrics of this car do not give any unpleasant "surprises". The incorrect operation of the frontal impact sensor forced the manufacturer to recall the cars produced in 2008-2009. Still sometimes the fuel level sensor can "clog".

    In general, the car is quite reliable and not whimsical, except, perhaps, the "pumped up" version with a 1.5 liter engine.

    A selection of reviews, video reviews and test drives of the Mitsubishi Lancer 10:

    Crash test Mitsubishi Lancer 10th generation:

The official premiere of the Mitsubishi C-segment sedan represented by the tenth generation Lancer model took place in January 2007 at the international motor show in Detroit. But the history of the model began a little earlier - in 2005, when the Concept-X and Concept-Sportback concept cars debuted at the motor shows in Tokyo and Frankfurt (based on which the car “in the tenth body” was created).

In 2011, "Lancer 10" underwent a small update, as a result of which it received point changes in the exterior and interior, as well as improved sound insulation.

Mitsubishi Lancer 10 is endowed with a smart and very good appearance, from whatever angle you look at it. Even at a rather old age, it looks worthy and relevant against the background of newer cars.

The front part of the sedan is made in the corporate style of the Mitsubishi brand called “Jet Fighter” (in the style of fighters), and the open mouth of the radiator grille with chrome edging and predatory narrowed optics add aggression to it (it's a pity that the filling is completely halogen) ...

The dynamic "combat" profile of the Japanese three-volume box is emphasized by a long hood, a strongly inclined front roof pillar and 16-inch "rollers" with 10 spokes (for a fee - 17-inch).

The rear of the Mitsubishi Lancer 10 contains lights made in the same style as the headlights and giving it aggression, a somewhat heavy trunk and an expressive bumper.

An additional sporty touch can be added to the vehicle's exterior by means of the aerodynamic side skirts and a striking rear spoiler, which are available as an optional extra.

The overall dimensions of the body of the Mitsubishi Lancer 10 sedan fit into the concept of the C-class: 4570 mm in length, 1505 mm in height, 1760 mm in width. The wheelbase of the car is 2635 mm, and the ground clearance is 165 mm. Depending on the modification, the curb weight of the sedan varies from 1265 to 1330 kg.

The interior of the "tenth Lancer" looks modern, but nothing special catches the eye. The steering wheel with three spokes is unified with other models of the brand, only the necessary minimum of keys was found on it. The dashboard looks most stylish, which is made in the form of two deep "wells" with a 3.5-inch color display between them, covered from above with a wave-like visor.

The center console is made in a classic style, in terms of design, there are no questions about it. A simple radio tape recorder is integrated into the panel, so it can only be replaced with an original multimedia system. Slightly below there is an "emergency" button, and even lower - three rotating handles and three buttons for controlling the air conditioner. Everything is simple and well thought out, you literally can't find fault with ergonomics.

The interior of the sedan "Lancer 10" does not have a high level of performance. Firstly, hard and not very pleasant plastic is completely used, and even in the top versions, leather trim is not available, and secondly, everything is not assembled in the best way (you can see the gaps between the parts).

The front seats have a good profile, although they would have liked better support on the sides. The adjustment ranges are sufficient, but no more than that, there is room with a margin in all directions. The rear sofa is comfortable for three, passengers will not feel discomfort in the legs or in width, but the low ceiling will put pressure on the heads of tall people.

The trunk of the Japanese sedan is small by the standards of the "golf" class - only 315 liters of usable volume. Its shape is not the most successful, the opening is narrow, the height is small - in general, large-sized objects will not fit there. The backrest of the rear seat folds flat with the floor, making it possible to transport long items. Under the "plywood" floor there was a place for a full-size spare wheel on a stamped disc.

Specifications. For the Mitsubishi Lancer 10, in 2015, two DOHC four-cylinder petrol engines are available, each equipped with MIVEC electronic variable valve timing technology and ECI-Multi multipoint injection.

  • The first is a 1.6-liter unit that produces 117 horsepower and 154 Nm of torque (at 4000 rpm). To him in tandem is offered a 5-speed "mechanics" or 4-band "automatic", and all the traction is directed to the front wheels. With such a "heart" under the hood, the sedan accelerates to the first hundred in 10.8-14.1 seconds, reaching a maximum of 180-190 km / h (the best performance in both cases is in the version with manual transmission). Fuel consumption in combined mode varies from 6.1 to 7.1 liters.
  • A more powerful 1.8-liter engine generates 140 "horses" and 177 Nm of peak thrust (at 4250 rpm). It is combined either with the same manual transmission, or with a continuously variable CVT variator (only front-wheel drive). With the "mechanics", the 140-horsepower Lancer gains 100 km / h after 10 seconds and a top speed of 202 km / h, while consuming 7.5 liters of gasoline per 100 km in mixed mode. In the case of a variator, acceleration to the first hundred takes 1.4 seconds longer, and the maximum capabilities are lower by 11 km / h (fuel consumption is only 0.3 liters higher).

Previously, there were also available: "sluggish" 1.5-liter 109-horsepower (with "mechanics" it was "nothing", but with "automatic" - just "no" in terms of dynamics); 2.0-liter 150-horsepower power unit and, "hurricane", 2.0-liter turbocharged 241-horsepower engine.

The "tenth" Mitsubishi Lancer is based on the "global" platform Project Global, which was created jointly by Mitsubishi and Daimler-Chrysler engineers during the period of their cooperation. In the arsenal of the Japanese sedan there is a standard set of a modern car: in the front McPherson with anti-roll bars, in the back there is an independent suspension with a multi-link scheme.
Brakes on the "Lancer" are disc on all wheels, and at the front are also ventilated (front have a diameter of 15 inches, rear - 14 inches). The rack and pinion steering gear is supplemented with a hydraulic booster.

Options and prices. In the Russian market in 2015, the Mitsubishi Lancer 10 is offered in four trim levels:

  • The basic level of equipment called Inform is offered at a price of 719,000 rubles, and the list of its equipment includes two front airbags, ABS, an on-board computer, power steering, four power windows, a standard audio system with an AUX connector, and steel wheel rims.
  • The Invite version is available only with a 117-horsepower engine at a price of 809,990 rubles for a car with a "mechanic" or 849,990 rubles with an "automatic". Such a car is complemented by air conditioning, electric drive and heated exterior mirrors, heated front seats and an armrest between the front seats.
  • For Lancer 10 performed by Invite +, they offer the whole range of engines and gearboxes, and they ask for it from 849,990 to 939,990 rubles. The prerogative of this configuration is fog lights, light alloy wheels, leather-clad multi-steering wheel and gearshift lever.
  • The top solution Intense will cost from 919,990 to 969,990 rubles (depending on the installed engine-transmission link). In addition to all of the above, such a sedan sports aerodynamic door sills, a trunk spoiler, side airbags and a driver's knee airbag.

By the way - 2015 was the last year for the tenth generation "Lancer" on the Russian market, and in December 2017 its production was discontinued in Japan.

We are talking about the features of the latest Mitsubishi passenger car, remembered by Russians, as well as the nuances of choosing such used cars, based on the experience of their owners.

However, the success of the Lancer X was short-lived. Due to the global financial crisis that came in time at the wrong time, and a number of objective shortcomings of the model, which did not meet the expectations of some buyers, the "Japanese" shone no longer than the performers of one hit Tanita Tikaram and Lu Begi. But if the motives of "Twist in My Sobriety" and "Mamba # 5" are still heard from time to time from radio receivers, then the popularity of the more expensive than its predecessor, "Lancer" X has faded in a matter of years.

The Russian office of Mitsubishi even returned the previous Lancer with the Classic subscript for a couple of years, so that, selling it in parallel with the new product, balance a high-spirited, noisy and hard car with a more calm, roomy, comfortable and reliable, and most importantly, a more affordable alternative car. Nevertheless, the “tenth” generation still has its connoisseurs and admirers. And the model, even several years after the forced exit from the Russian market, is still in certain demand.

Eyes run

Now in the secondary market in Russia you can find almost any Mitsubishi Lancer X: with all types of bodies, transmissions and power units. Up to cars with 2.4 ( 1.2% ). Most of the proposals for today for "Lancers" with a junior engine 1.5 ( 36,8% ). The second most common power unit 1.8 ( 25,3% ) with a return of 140 and 143 hp. They are followed by 2-liter 150-horsepower ( 19,3% ) and 1.6-liter ( 17,4% ) version. But top-end cars made by Ralliart with a 241-horsepower 2.0 are practically not found in our secondary market. Although about a hundred of these cars were officially sold with us.

Quite predictably, the most common aftermarket sedans are the Lancer X ( 97% ), but you will have to look for hatchbacks ( 3% ). Almost all "tenth" Mitsubishi Lancer with mileage are front-wheel drive ( 98% ). Although all-wheel drive cars are also found from time to time ( 2% ). Such a transmission, by the way, is only for 2-liter versions. Almost half of the used cars sold are equipped with a manual transmission ( 41,6% ). Used Lancers with submachine guns ( 29,3% ) and variators ( 29,1% ) in the market approximately equally.

Body

Contrary to popular belief about the galvanized body of the "tenth" Mitsubishi Lancer, the car does not have it. Under the paint - only primer and corrosion-resistant steel. This, according to the Japanese, is enough to guarantee that there will be no perforating corrosion for 12 years. At the same time, however, paintwork rather weakly resists damage. Scratched varnish in grooves under door handles is common. Worn to the ground paint on the thresholds in the doorways of the owners of Lancer X is not surprising. And also the head optics worn out to cloudiness, costing from 7,700 rubles per headlight.

Rust can develop over time at paint chips if not removed immediately. But the frankly rotten Lancer X you are unlikely to meet. Avoid broken cars, because among the owners of the model there were many young, hot and not always experienced drivers. In addition to the typical signs of such cars, such as different colors of body parts, uneven gaps between the panels, as well as the trunk floor without damage or folds, the owners of Lancers X have their own "secret" ways to identify a car that has been in an accident. For example, in sedans, the letter L in the name Lancer on the trunk lid is initially located strictly under the middle of the lock cylinder.

If on the inspected car the nameplate is shifted to the side, then the cover was repainted. And, perhaps, not only her. Also on the head optics and taillights, you can see the name of its manufacturer. From the factory, the cars were equipped with Stanley lighting equipment. Found another? Changed! Examine the glass markings. The front and rear were originally from AGS Automotive and always with the Mitsubishi logo. Also, on both glasses under the letter there is a designation in the form of several dots, located in a special way. They should be the same in the front and back. It will not be superfluous, by the way, to assess the veracity of the odometer run on the worn out pedals, steering wheel, seats and armrest of the driver's door.

Engines

All four engines, with which the usual Lancer X (Ralliart and Evolution do not count) was officially sold in Russia, are atmospheric gasoline "fours" with a reliable timing chain drive. These are motors of two families 4A (1.5 and 1.6) and 4B (1.8 and 2.0). They are very reliable, rather unpretentious and can last up to 250,000 km, or even up to 400,000 km. Everything, except for the youngest and most common in our country, a 1.5-liter (4A91) unit with an aluminum block, which Lancer inherited from the Colt subcompact. Due to the fact that it is frankly weak for a C-class car and therefore works in extreme modes, the resource of this engine is half as much. Such a motor on cars up to 2011, due to the occurrence of rings, often suffers from a "oil burner", which, if you do not monitor the oil level in a timely manner, can cause the death of the unit. On later copies, the problem was solved by improving the problematic design, and at the same time transferring the production of these motors from Germany to Japan.

No similar weakness was noticed behind other engines. When inspecting a "Lancer" with any motors, you need to make sure that there are no traces of leakage of working fluids under the hood. In particular, the front crankshaft oil seal is dry at a cost of 300 rubles. It can start leaking oil after 100,000 km. It is also worth evaluating the wear of the drive belt of attachments from 1600 rubles and its rollers from 1000 rubles. An excessively loud release may be the result of the demise of a short-lived O-ring between the manifold and the exhaust system, which costs 1,000 rubles. At idle speed, the engine should run smoothly and without extraneous noise. By the way, do not be alarmed by the long burning Check Engine light. It goes out at the "Lancer" only after starting the engine.

Checkpoint

The absolute leader in reliability and praise from the tenth generation Lancer owners is the "mechanics". On cars with a lower engine 1.5 - this is a slightly more capricious 5-speed Getrag F5M, and on the rest - a less whimsical Japanese Aisin F5M with the same number of steps. The clutch runs on them for 100,000 - 150,000 km and costs 8,200 rubles in the collection. When inspecting a car with such a gearbox with the engine running, depress the clutch pedal and then release it. The release bearing for 1000 rubles and the bearing of the input shaft for 1200 rubles should be "silent" at the same time.

The good old Jatco F4A 4-band "automatic", available for the two lower Lancer engines, is unhurried and reliable. Provided that the oil is changed every 90,000 km and starts from a traffic light without a pedal to the floor, it can last at least 250,000 km. When driving a test drive, make sure that the gearbox does not "kick", does not twitch, does not make unnecessary noise and is not too thoughtful when changing gears. But the choice of the variator must be approached with caution. The Lancer X was equipped with the same Jatco JF011E continuously variable transmission as the Outlander and a whole range of models from Nissan, Renault, Suzuki and other well-known brands.

Depending on the driving modes and the regular renewal of the oil in it, the continuously variable variator is capable of traveling from 150,000 to 250,000 km. During a test drive, check that in neutral and when the Drive mode is on, the box does not emit extraneous sounds, does not twitch or "freeze". And also be sure to inspect the tip of her oil dipstick for the absence of small metal particles in the oil, and most importantly - the smell of burning. If the latter is available, the variator may soon need to be repaired at a cost of 100,000 to 200,000 rubles. It is better not to take such a car, of course.

Rest

The electronically controlled 4WD all-wheel drive transmission tested on the Outlander and the rear wheel clutch on the 2-liter Lancers, judging by the reviews, is a hassle-free thing and will not cause any trouble to the owner. Just in case, when inspecting, look under the car and make sure there are no drips under its elements. A crunch in the area of the front struts when the car is rocking or when driving over bumps can mean the death of contaminated and worn out support bearings for 500 rubles.

The front struts of 5,000 rubles each on early cars until 2011 took care of sometimes 20,000 km. And since 2014, anthers have appeared on the shock absorbers, which increased their service life. On cars until 2008, rear wheel bearings for 8600 rubles each, assembled with a hub, served 70,000 km each, and on later Lancers they run twice as much. The steering rods and rear bushings of the front levers on this model run a little more than 60,000 km, and the ball joint assemblies with the lever for 12,600 rubles may require replacement after 90,000 km.

During a test drive of the Lancer X with a 1.5 engine, make sure that the electric power steering built into the steering rack works without interruptions and helps the driver when turning the steering wheel in both directions. On early copies of machines with this unit, there were problems that required replacing the rack for 109,400 rubles. Fortunately, she has non-original alternatives from 34,600 rubles. The other versions of the model have a conventional hydraulic booster. In it, you only need to change the fluid after 90,000 km and look so that the rubber tubes do not fray at the points of attachment to the steering gear.

How much?

Prices for the "tenth" Mitsubishi Lancer start at about 300,000 rubles for cars produced in 2008 with a 1.5 engine and mechanics or automatic. For the same money, you can find a front-wheel drive car with a 2-liter engine and a CVT. Four-wheel drive "Lancers" are found in the secondary market for at least 360,000 - 380,000 rubles. For the freshest restyled sedans from the last batches of 2014 with a range of 22,000 km or more, their owners want to get more than 800,000 rubles. Hatchbacks can be found at prices ranging from 330,000 rubles for cars in 2008 to 450,000 rubles for five-doors produced in 2010.

Our choice

The "tenth" Lancer as a whole is a good option for a relatively inexpensive used golf-class car. Despite its decent age, it still looks quite relevant even against the background of much more modern competitors. Yes, and hassle when choosing a car with a "live" power unit should not deliver. We at Am.ru believe that buying this model is good with any type of transmission and engine, except, perhaps, the very youngest 1.5. The most reliable: mechanics and automatic. The first is for younger and hotter drivers, and the second is for calm and unhurried drivers.

The most practical is a hatchback, in the enlarged trunk opening of which you can put bulky cargo. For the rest, the sedan will be enough, in which, if desired, it is also easy to take away the length, folding the back of the sofa in a ratio of 40:60. The best option is the purchase of a restyled car released after 2011. Quite good 4-year-olds with one owner in the TCP and mileage from 80,000 km to 100,000 km are sold at a price of 420,000 rubles with mechanics and from about 500,000 rubles with an automatic or CVT.

Lancer 10 is a car that has a positive reputation among car owners. It is reliable, safe, economical, modern, but not without its drawbacks.

This is used by competitors, creating cars that can make the buyer refuse to choose Mitsubishi.

These cars also have design flaws that do not allow the Lancer X to be pushed out of the market.

Lancer 10 or Mazda

It is rather difficult to choose a cocoa car between Mitsubishi and Mazda 3. The advantages that Mazda has are:

  • high-quality sound insulation;
  • interior plastic looks more expensive;
  • lack of "crickets";
  • headlight washer;
  • daytime running lights do not require complex activation.

The disadvantages of the Mazda 3 against the background of the Lancer are:

  • too soft material of the buttons, so they remain scratched during operation;
  • worst cornering control;
  • paintwork is more susceptible to damage.

If we compare it with the Mazda 6, then the Lancer is clearly inferior in dynamics and controllability. The disadvantage of the Mazda 6 is too low ground clearance. After installing the crankcase protection, problems with overcoming obstacles on the road are possible.

Lancer X vs Ford Focus comparison

If the car owner has a large appearance, then it is better to refuse to purchase a Ford Focus. The salon is too cramped for people whose height exceeds 180 cm.Also, the car has a number of minor technical flaws:

  • wipers do not clean the windshield well;
  • condensation forms in the headlights;
  • the quality of the plastic in the pre-styling version is low, so for the absence of "crickets" the choice should be made towards Focus 2;
  • poor visibility in the rear-view mirrors;
  • chafing of the trunk lock electrical wiring.

The choice towards Ford Focus should be made if there is a desire to own a car with a diesel engine. It is highly reliable. The rest of the engines have a shorter resource and are very whimsical, although they do not suffer from a masloger like a 1.5 liter engine from Mitsubishi. In general, this car is designed for measured, city driving.

Mitsubishi Lancer 10 vs Chevrolet Cruze

Chevrolet Cruze has mediocre dynamics, so if the car owner has a desire for a sporty ride, then the choice should be made towards the Lancer 10 ralliart with power plants of 2.0 or 2.4 liters.

Also, what the owners of the Chevrolet Cruze need to come to terms with is the less practical interior. The plastic looks cheaper than the Lancer X. The interior is made in light colors, which causes it to get dirty quickly. The steering wheel is made of leatherette, which causes rapid wear of the coating. In general, with the same service life, the Lancer X interior looks more attractive.

The advantage of the Chevrolet Cruze lies in the reliability of the power plant. All children's problems of the motor have already been solved by the manufacturer, so the engine practically does not cause trouble for the car owner.

Lancer X or Honda Civic

Honda Civic is able to compete with Lancer 10. The car has good dynamic performance. Noise isolation is a level higher than that of Mitsubishi. The engine on the level of reliability corresponds to the 1.8-liter Lancer X engine, which is famous for its long resource.

Civic 8 will help you not to get lost in the traffic. Its design is filled with futurism. Dynamic performance is not inferior to Lancer 10.

The power plant of the Civic 4d is quite reliable, but as on 1.5 liter Mitsubishi engines, coking occurs when reaching 100 thousand km. Structurally, the power unit is more perfect than the 1.5-liter Lancer 10 engine.

The disadvantage of the Civic is the suspension is too soft. In corners, rolls occur, and when driving through irregularities, shock absorbers often break through.

Mitsubishi Lancer X and Toyota Corolla

The advantages and disadvantages of Toyota Corolla originate from the manufacturer's innovation policy. Toyota Motor Corporation is constantly striving to make its vehicle as modern as possible. Therefore, design changes are constantly being made during the production process. Among them there are both successful solutions and clearly unsuccessful ones. So, for example, the Corolla 150 has a variant with a robotic gearbox, which turned out to be very problematic.

The choice of Toyota Corolla in most cases is justified, since the car has a number of advantages over the Lancer 10:

  • more reliable electrical;
  • clear work of the manual transmission;
  • a long resource before the start of the masloger, which the 1.5 liter Lancer 10 engine cannot boast of.

Compare Lancer X and Kia Rio

The Kia Rio has a well-assembled interior and a spacious trunk. Noise isolation is performed worse than in Mitsubishi. Lots of uneven seams and uneven paintwork are also noticeable. The handling is worse than that of the Lancer 10. Reliability is also quite far inferior to Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi Lancer X vs. Hyundai Solaris

Solaris has a six-speed automatic transmission. This allows for virtually jolt-free overclocking. Despite the smaller engine displacement, the volume of which is 1.4 liters, the car proves to be gluttonous, especially in urban conditions, consuming up to 11-11.5 liters per 100 km.

Lancer 10 or Skoda Octavia

Skoda Octavia has a turbocharged version with engine displacement technology in its line of engines. This allows, depending on the need, to obtain either high efficiency or excellent dynamic performance. For example, the Octavia can accelerate to 100 km / h in 8 seconds.

Inspection Lancer 10 before purchase

What to look for when purchasing a Mitsubishi Lancer X is summarized in the table below.

Node or systemNote
EngineCompression control for 1.5 motors
BodyRust spots are most common in cars manufactured before 2011
Lubrication systemMasloger is typical for 1.5 liter engines. It is possible to squeeze out the lubricant through the oil seals and seals due to the increased pressure of the crankcase gases
TransmissionIt is required to check the oil in the variator and automatic transmission. If there is a burning smell, then it is better to refuse to purchase a car.
SteeringProblems mainly in the EUR
LightingCheck that there is no tarnishing of the glass of the headlights
