The largest motorcycle in the world. Rating of the most powerful motorcycles on the planet The largest production motorcycle

11.08.2020

At the end of the last century, representatives of the motorcycle industry seemed to compete with each other, creating faster and more powerful motorcycles. Each manufacturer tried to outdo the other by producing motorcycles at a higher speed than the competitor. But literally ten years later, a general decision was made to limit motorcycle speeds. The maximum value should not have been higher than 299 km/h. This was due to an increased number of accidents, including deaths, caused by the owner’s desire to show everything his iron horse was capable of.

The place of the champion among choppers is already for a long time holds Mad Ron Laycock, designed by a motorcycle fan from Australia. Its power - drum roll - 3800 horses!

Do you think this is impossible? Perhaps if we put an aviation jet engine Rolls-Royce Viper MK. The chopper is designed on the basis of a series from Yamaha - FJ 1200. The bike was created for races of 402 meters. It's sad, but his speed figures are unknown, although we assure you that they are capable of hitting. Without a doubt, you won’t be able to ride this iron horse, but it can safely be called the most powerful motorcycle.

The Tomahawk differs from its cousins in its non-standard design. It has twin wheels, which are separated from each other by only a small gap. Each wheel has its own independent suspension. Tomahawk needs dual wheels to adequately receive torque from the supermotor.

The Tomahawk has an engine capacity of more than eight liters from a Dodge Viper with ten cylinders. A super engine of 500 horses allows you to accelerate to hundreds of km/h in a few moments. In principle, if we remove physical factors, the chopper can accelerate to 676 km/h, but in reality its top speed is close to 500 km/h.

The MTT Street fighter chopper didn't go far from the gold. Despite the similarity in design with the next model on the list, it specifications more powerful: an engine of 420 horses helps it accelerate to 402 km/h.

To become the owner of this superbike, which costs about 200 thousand bucks, means being lucky. After all, a total of five MTT Turbine Superbike choppers leave the assembly line every year. Powerful 320 gas turbine engine Horse power from Rolls Royce-Allison is not the only advantage of the bike. Fans are very pleased with the two-speed gearbox and the availability rear camera with color LCD screen. By the way, the weight barely reaches 230 kilograms. The speed of this chopper is not bad - 364 km/h.

The Suzuki GSX-1300R Hayabusa also stands out, not only legendary, but also the highest speed among its “conveyor” brothers. Sokol (that’s the name of the bike) went on sale at the end of the last century, and during this period there were several generational changes.

Now the Falcon has a one and a half liter engine with 4 cylinders, its power is 193 horses, and the torque is simply amazing for a two-wheeled unit. It is this, as well as its low weight and excellent aerodynamics, that allows the bike to reach speeds of up to 300 km/h.

This popular motorcycle was given to the world by the popular engineer Massimo Tamburini, who began work on his brainchild shortly after Ducati and demonstrated the result of his work at the dawn of the last century. The 16-valve four-cylinder engine is liquid cooled. Power of 200 horsepower allows the bike to accelerate to 306 km/h.

A fairly young bike, presented to the general public at a motorcycle show in Tokyo just ten years ago, entered the assembly line a year later. The bike was conceived as a replacement for the ZX12R. The Ninja weighs only 220 kilograms, and the available 200 horses make it capable of accelerating to hundreds of meters in just 2.9 seconds. The acceleration limit, which is electronically limited, is almost 300 km/h.

Chopper, a sensation in the motorcycle world. The Yamaha YZF R1 2012 bike has earned the title of not only the leader of Yamaha, but also the best in its class. Won gold many times in World Superbike races. This chopper was presented to the world in 1998. Its performance is impressive: a motor with a power of 180 horses at 12.5 rpm, a weight of only 206 kilograms, a speed limit of almost 300 km/h.

This model became famous after it was used by the BMW Motorrad Motorsport pilot team at world motorcycle racing competitions. The model went into production not so long ago - in 2008. The bike weighs only 183 kilograms, but this lightweight can reach 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. Thanks to a powerful engine of 193 horsepower, the iron horse can reach a top speed of 299 km/h, and if this were not limited electronically, who knows how much it would accelerate?

Many believe that the most big motorcycle in the world should also be the most powerful. Let's see if this is true.

Truly, the largest chopper on the planet was seen by the public in 2012 in Italy at the Motor Bike Expo. Its dimensions are truly amazing: this monster reaches 6.5 meters in length, 3.43 meters in height, and its weight is almost three tons! Engineers from Regio Design, headed by Fabio Reggiani, worked on the giant. To design the “largest” iron horse it took four months.

Even these huge dimensions did not affect the performance of the chopper; it can really be controlled, however, if you have very long limbs and are at least four meters tall.

By the way, his predecessor, who held the title of “the largest motorcycle,” does not care at all how tall the person riding him is. Creator Greg Dunham designed it to be easy to ride. The dimensions of the now silver medalist are not much different from the current one. Its length is 6 meters, its height is 3 meters, and its weight also fell just short of three tons. This does not prevent the motorcycle from reaching speeds of up to 104 km/h (yes, this is not the fastest bike in the world, but consider the dimensions), and its engine has 500 horses.

Greg began creating this colossus by arguing with his friends, who were sure that no one could make such a large bike. “Dream Big” was born as proof three years later, depriving its owner of 300 thousand dollars. Although, as Greg says, there are now a lot of people who want to own such a giant, and there’s even a queue.

When it comes to the largest vehicles that can travel on public roads, the imagination involuntarily draws. But for many it will be a real discovery that motorcycles that are real giants can compete for this title.

Tank cycle

Among the largest motorcycles that move under their own power, a giant heavyweight has appeared, with a total weight of 4740 kg. This miracle of technology was seen by millions of motorcycle enthusiasts, and all thanks to the colossal efforts of the team from the Bike Shmiede club. These guys, living in East Germany, in the village of Zilla, spent a lot of time hand-assembling this metal giant. Their actions were directed by Thilo Niebel. As soon as all the work was completed, Guinness representatives began to study the characteristics of the unusual tank bike, which has a five-meter base and almost a ton of weight per meter. In addition to its threatening appearance, the two-wheeled vehicle received an unusual engine taken from the T-55 tank. The “heart” of the German motorcycle is capable of producing from 620 to 800 hp. With. and without much difficulty move the colossus assembled from old Soviet cars. The story of where the German guys got the engine from the Soviet tank is shrouded in mystery to this day. We managed to find out only the year of manufacture - 1986.

This model has an impressively sized steering wheel. The two-meter control levers are difficult for an untrained person to handle. To fit into a turn, you need not only dexterity, but also good physical preparation. A passenger who also has a steering wheel can help in driving a large motorcycle. The passenger will be able to steer the wheel attached to the cradle.

The PanzerBike is a clear contender for the title of one of the heaviest bikes, but to claim that it is the largest motorcycle in the world is incorrect. Its overall parameters are impressive, appearance delights, and the name only enhances the emotions of what he sees. But there are specimens that are superior to their German counterpart.

Monster Motorbike from Hell

Despite the name of the motorcycle (“Monster Bike from Hell”), its creator never ceases to insist that this miracle of technology is the safest among its two-wheeled counterparts. A motorcycle with large wheels, which were borrowed from the American mining dump truck, amazes the imagination with its characteristics. The wheel, 3 meters high and 9 meters long, exceeded the weight of 13 tons! With such dimensions you can easily crush a car, which, in fact, is what this colossus does, performing at various exhibition shows.

Ray Bauman, a lifelong Perth resident and professional stuntman, put his heart and soul into the incredibly large motorcycle. According to the master himself, it took him three years to create the unique technique.

Can make this monster go cargo engine from Detroit Diesel Corporation, paired with a six-speed transmission.

As Ray said, during the work on “Monster” many difficulties arose; it was necessary to restore health, which was undermined after two fractures of the spine.

Dream Big

This bike was born thanks to Greg Dunham. The Californian spent three years to create a brainchild that was included in the Guinness Book of Records. The length of the device was 6.2 m, and the height was 3.4 m - impressive, isn’t it? Despite its enormous size and weight of 3 tons, the motorcycle is capable of traveling at a speed of 100 km/h. with a volume of 8.2 liters it is capable of delivering up to 500 liters. s.. The gearbox has only three speeds, one of which is reverse. But this is quite enough to set Dream Big in motion. The work on creating this unique motorcycle not only took a huge amount of time and effort, but also emptied Greg's wallet to the tune of about $300,000.

Regio Design XXL Chopper

The creation of the famous Italian master was shown to the general public in 2012 at one of the exhibitions. The huge chopper, made with taste and skill, was officially recognized by Guinness representatives and received a certificate indicating that it is the largest motorcycle in the world capable of moving independently. It was possible to register a new record only after the bike covered 150 meters out of the required 100.

It took about seven months to create this monster, using a team of eight professionals. The result was a bike with a length of 9.75 m and a height of 4.9 m. The total weight of the unique motorcycle was 5.5 tons. The Italian giant received a gasoline heart with a volume of 5.7 liters and a maximum power of 280 hp. With. Chevrolet engine works in tandem with a three-speed gearbox, which was removed from the old Buick.

Change of leader

Naturally, riding such a huge motorcycle is quite difficult. The creators were forced to equip their creation with additional wheels that hold the device and prevent it from falling on its side. Having become a record holder, the unit, called Regio Design XXL Chopper, took the place of Dream Big.

Even the most accurate measurements may contain hypothetical errors. It may be minuscule and, by its principle, in practical terms, it may not be so important technically, but its existence will nevertheless be known, which for, say, idealists themselves can become a serious obstacle.

We all understand that any technique loves precision. It is certainly required for technical calculations. vehicles, and in their specific production. No less important here is the accuracy in providing the technical characteristics of this vehicle, namely, what are the dimensions of the car, how much it weighs, what is its power and what is the torque. It is with the latter that problems most often arise.

Very often, if not almost always, the declared power of an auto-motor manufacturer is strikingly different (or, more precisely, one might say, from that measured on a dyno stand), and in the direction of overestimating the former. It may initially seem that selfish manufacturers are trying to inflate these figures in order to increase the value of their equipment compared to the same competitors. But in reality this is far from the case. It’s just that when conducting factory testing, so many variable values are taken into account that it is very, very difficult to track all of them on a regular dynamometer, or it (the dynamometer) is simply not able to show them.

One of the many American automobile sites conducted its research on a dynamometer, setting the power of motorcycles in 2015, on the basis of which it made conclusions about the approximate discrepancy between its measurements and factory power measurements. Next, they compiled a detailed report-rating of the top ten in 2015.

Before we dive into this definitive list, we want to make a quick footnote.

The presented figures are typical for motorcycle models created specifically for the American market. In European and even more so in Japanese bike models, this power may differ slightly.

Power was measured based on independently performed tests.

10. Yamaha R1 and R1M - 186.4 hp at 12,000 thousand rpm

Just a few months ago, you only needed 179 hp to make this list. Then the 10th place in the ranking was occupied by the Motus MST-R model. Times have changed! Now the minimum for a bike top is 186 hp. and which the Yamaha R1 model motorcycle has, leaving behind the same Motus and thereby shifting down the 2015 specification, i.e. motorcycle models - Aprilia RSV4 and the old 1199 Ducati Panigale, in which tests showed 181 hp. The experienced fighter motorcycle model GSX-R1000 with its 182.4 hp could not withstand the competition.

Given such a huge investment in this company, it could have hoped for a higher figure than the one that turned out.

9. BMW S1000RR - 190.4 hp at 12.500 thousand rpm

Just recently, the previous HP4 model (derived from the S1000RR) could only be content with the last place in the table. The new basic road version of 2015 has caught up, its capabilities have increased today, to the same 190 hp. It is noteworthy that the year before last, sportsbikes with a similar rating could only count on sixth place in the ranking. What we mean by this is how quickly engine technology is moving forward. internal combustion new generations.

8. Suzuki Hayabusa - 194.4 hp at 9.500 thousand rpm

Just as the Americans themselves are accustomed to powerful V8 engines in their cars, so it has become common for the Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle to extract its horsepower from a 1,300 cc engine. “An old horse will not spoil the furrow,” says one old saying. This saying can be applied to the Hayabusa sportsbike model this time too. This old man is still giving off heat! His measurements on the dino showed a result very close to 200 hp, which was only 5.6 “horses” short of that.

Such power of the bike directly indicates that those that were originally used on Hayabusa motorcycle models were long ahead of their time. Without any major modifications, Japanese engineers today manage to steadily increase the power of their superbike.

7. Ducati 1199 Panigale R and Superleggera - 194.4 hp at 11.250 thousand rpm

The old 1199 Panigale may have left our ranking list, but the homologation R version of it still remains on the list, along with another super-expensive model like the Superleggera, which shares the same engine spec. The same power as the V-Twin Hayabusa sportbike, which at the same time has 100 hp. less than a remarkable achievement to say the least.

6. Ducati 1299 Panigale and Panigale S - 194.4 hp at 10.500 thousand rpm

Look, friends, what some 100 cubes can do. Past basic model The 1199 Panigale developed and carried “only” 181 hp, and in 2015 a few additional cubes raise its power to 194.4 hp. With the increased volume, the speed itself decreased, at which it reached 750 rpm, when compared with similar indicators of motorbikes of the Superleggera model or with the R version.

5. MV Agusta F4, F4R, F4RR and F4RC - 197.1 hp at 13.600 thousand rpm

You and I must admire the achievement of the motorcycle company with the MV Agusta bike in creating the F4 engine, which turned out to be so powerful and amazing. Without some 3 (three) horses, almost 200 horsepower! And all this despite the fact that we have before us a simple 998 cc basic design, which, by the way, at the present time can hardly be called the latest. In 2016, it should be replaced by a completely new four-cylinder engine. What does it mean? We are confident that Agusta will be able to break the 200 hp mark. in its sports line of motorcycles.

4. Kawasaki Ninja H2 - 197.1 hp at 11,000 thousand rpm

The power of the Kawasaki H2 sportbike, as it turned out, exactly corresponded to what was declared by the manufacturer - 197 hp. The H2R track model showed how and when it does not have to meet emission control principles. However, such a motorcycle will not be released on the road. But the H2 model is environmentally friendly; it is one of the greenest sports bikes on the market. And at the same time one of the most powerful.

3. Yamaha V-Max - 197.4 hp at 9,000 thousand rpm

Another motorcycle legend, the V-Max model. Despite its very strange roots in the intricacies of which there are clear signs of incest, this model the sport bike shows quite good results time after time. Its huge 1.679 cc engine easily produces 197.4 hp. at 9,000 thousand rpm. The Americans received such indicators during their measurement tests. In terms of torque, this 1.6 liter surpassed all other rivals by a head.

The only downside to this V-Max models, which is logical, is excessively heavy.

2. Aprilia RSV4 RR, RSV4 RF (2016 model) - 198.5 hp. at 13,000 thousand rpm

More recently, the Aprilia model had a “modest” 181 hp engine, but the latest settings for the 2016 motorcycle model year made a major improvement in it. The result is obvious - 198.5 hp, the most powerful production liter engine currently sold in America.

It’s surprising but true why so few people buy such a technological masterpiece.(?)

1. Kawasaki ZX-14R (ZZR1400) - 207.9 hp at 10,000 thousand rpm

It was number one last time and remains so to this day. This did not cause any particular problems for the ZX-14R sportbike; 2016 will further show whether the hegemony of this sportbike will continue in the future.

The ZX-14R sportbike model, known in Europe as the ZZR1400 model, may be an atavism from the point of view of thinking of the ongoing “battles” of the maximum speeds of the Blackbird/Busa/ZX-12R model motorbike, the turn of the current millennium, but no one has any doubts about its effectiveness No.

Power is not the most important thing in a motorcycle. So, it is quite possible that the best one out there may not show the most impressive results on the motorcycle track. But nevertheless, an additional 10 horses can always be useful on straight sections, where it would be difficult to find an equal to the ZX-14R sports bike.

Well, it goes without saying that the owners of Kawasaki motorcycles are the only ones who can officially say or declare today that they own a production bike with more than 200 hp. As they say, it’s a small thing, but it’s nice! See you later, friends.
