Nissan Qashqai is wider in the shoulders and surpasses competitors in the size of the wheelbase. In theory, his second row should be the most comfortable and spacious, even additional air ducts. A couple of months ago, we compared the Suzuki Vitara with Renault Duster, and in this duel won the "Vitara", the cost of which was almost one and a half times higher than that of a competitor! Now the conditions of the comparative test are even more intriguing. Unlike frankly budget "Duster", "Vitara" and "Kashkai" play in the same price league. Yes, and identical origin of both models makes such a comparison more correct in the eyes of potential buyers.

Although with the origin here is not so easy. So, the Nissan crossover is Japanese only in part - it is built on the same chassis as the new Renault models, and collect it in Russia. With Suzuki, another story: if it is structurally a native "Japanese", then at the place of origin - "Hungarian". However, nor on the quality of assembly, nor on the running characteristics of these "national characteristics" do not affect. But at the price - more like! More precisely, not at the price, but on the fact that the buyer gets for the same money.

However, for the SUZUKI crossover, this Pirrova Victory. After all, Nissan can still boast of unavailable buyers of "Vitara" by automatic parking systems, tracking on "blind" zones during rebuilding, departure from their strip and controlling the driver's fatigue. It is rather noticeable that the Salon of Nissan is a little wider - additional centimeters (4 small) are felt in the shoulders, but there is no explicit superiority in the reserve of the rear seams. What is the matter? And the case is in the trunk: Nissan is 55 liters more, despite the way, a full-fledged spare wheel fit here. Suzuki in the "scene" of the dance, but the trunk itself with a double bottom is convenient for storing small things.

But if in statics about the advantages or minuses of both models, you can argue with hours, then there is no doubt on the road, which of them is better. No matter how old, no matter how to get the 1.6-liter SUZUKI engine, and to keep up with a 2.0-liter Nissan, it is not forces. And ok, the difference was only in dynamics: "Casca" is more comfortable on the suspension, and in terms of noise in the cabin. The only thing that "Vitara can" "take" a competitor is economy: due to less weight, it is about the liter below. We compared four crossovers that are among the most affordable on the market. We have two newcomers in the quartet - this is Suzuki New SX4 and Nissan Qashqai. Mitsubishi ASX is not a newcomer, but relatively recently underwent raster. Skoda Yeti, too, after a recent facelifting and confront Japanese Trinity. Yes, it turned out that the honor of European automakers will protect only one representative, and even knowingly the most expensive. Well, the more interesting to know if it makes sense to overpay.

So coincided that our editors decided not to miss a favorable situation in the car market and at the same time choose a car. True, we will negate that we had our criteria when choosing a car, namely: an economical gasoline engine (preferably atmospheric), mechanical gearbox, front-wheel drive, not the poorest equipment. A spacious trunk, as you always have anything.

We were looking for dealers the most accessible versions and it was almost possible. It was especially difficult to comply with equality in choosing motors. Stripping from our "stove" Suzuki New SX4, we started looking for cars with "mechanics" and a 1.6 liter gasoline engine, because the Japanese crossover, alas, is not offered with other motors. Identical couple was able to make only Mitsubishi ASX. In the basic version, it is equipped with a 117-strong 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a five-speed manual transmission. For Nissan Qashqai, the basic motor is a new 1.2-liter turbocharged unit with a capacity of 115 hp, but such a car did not turn out in the test park. I had to be content with a two-liter machine with a variator. Skoda Yeti in the "base" - a 105-strong 1.2-liter turbo engine. But there is another 1.4TSI with a capacity of 123 hp With front-wheel drive and six-speed "mechanics". Here it is and we took the team.
