Filler plug for automatic transmission Mazda cx 5. How to change the oil in the automatic transmission on a Mazda cx5 with your own hands? Selection of materials and preparation for replacement

09.11.2021

Many automakers claim that the fluid in automatic transmissions in cars is designed to last for the life of the vehicle. Often this statement implies that after a certain mileage (usually 200-300 thousand km), the entire automatic transmission will need to be replaced.

In real operating conditions on Russian roads, such a large mileage without changing the oil in the Mazda CX-5 automatic transmission is practically unattainable. As practice has shown, problems begin long before the 200 thousand km mark.

In order to avoid problems with the gearbox, which result in expensive repairs, many owners of Mazda CX-5 cars replace or partially renew the fluid in the gearbox. This operation can significantly extend the service life of the automatic transmission.

Features of the automatic transmission Mazda CX-5

The automatic transmission on the car in question is designed according to the classic scheme for Japanese transmissions. The large collapsible housing contains a torque converter, a set of planetary gears and clutch packs, as well as a control valve body.

The box has a removable pallet. Despite the manufacturer's assurances that the automatic transmission is filled with oil for the entire period of operation, a drain plug is provided in the sump.

Automatic box CX-5

On boxes of some other manufacturers, in which the grease is filled for life, either there is no plug or there is no sump. In this case, it is possible to change the oil only by connecting it to the break in the cooling system or after disassembling.

An interesting feature of the Mazda CX-5 automatic transmission is the filter design. Unlike most filters on other cars, where a metal mesh is used as a filter element, a fibrous material is used here.

This prevents flushing when changing the oil. Therefore, you will have to install a new one. O-rings are included with the filter, so you do not need to buy them separately.

Mazda's automatic transmission is quite reliable, subject to operating conditions, it is able to work out the assigned resource without problems. However, in real conditions, you should not rely on the reliability of Japanese cars.

The Russian quality of roads, as well as the frequent excess of the permissible loads on the transmission, significantly reduce the resource. Therefore, in Russia, the owners of these cars often violate the manufacturer's instructions and do it themselves.

Selection of materials and preparation for replacement

Mazda CX-5 automatic transmission is filled with Mazda ATF FZ 1 oil. This is an original oil, and its cost is higher than average among transmission lubricants. Therefore, many motorists use counterparts from third-party manufacturers when replacing.

gear lubricant

There are several analogs. All of them are selected based on the availability of tolerances. The most available substitute on our market is Ravenol ATF FZ1 gear lubricant. The amount of oil required depends on the level of replacement.

For the car in question, there are 3 possible options:

  • partial renewal without dismantling the pallet;
  • partial replacement with removal of the pallet and replacement of the filter;
  • complete replacement.

If you partially refresh the lubricant without dismantling the sump, you will need approximately 3.4-3.6 liters of grease. If you plan to replace the filter, then here the amount of required lubricant increases to 3.7-3.9 liters.

How to change the oil in your own hands Mazda CX-5- video

A complete replacement on the vehicle in question will require about 20 liters of oil. Of course, this is not the actual amount of grease poured into the Mazda CX-5 box.

This amount of fluid is necessary to complete a full cycle of pumping the system using a special stand for changing the oil in the automatic transmission. The specifics of the operation of the machine on this car does not allow a complete manual replacement without the risk of damage.

The second important question: how long does it take to replace? There are no manufacturer's recommendations here, and the opinions of ordinary motorists and specialists differ. The average mileage between the next automatic transmission maintenance is indicated at 60 thousand kilometers. This is for a partial replacement.

There are also several opinions about the mileage on which it is produced. It is highly recommended not later than after 150 thousand to completely replace the grease.

By this time, the filter is critically clogged, which increases the resistance to the passage of liquid through it. This leads to malfunctions in the automatic transmission.

To perform a partial update or complete replacement with dismantling the pallet, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • the head is 10 and the hexagon is 8;
  • screwdriver;
  • crowbar or powerful flat screwdriver;
  • keys for dismantling the protection (the methods of fastening the protection for different cars may differ);
  • sealant;
  • clean lint-free rags;
  • empty container, preferably with a measuring scale for assessing the amount of drained mining;
  • funnel or oil syringe with a hose;
  • carburetor cleaner or other liquid for cleaning oily surfaces.

It is advisable to do all work with an assistant. But you can do it yourself.

Partial replacement step by step

Partial replacement without dismantling the pallet is quite simple. After placing the car on an overpass or inspection pit, the following algorithm of actions is performed:

If a filter replacement is planned in parallel, the sump is dismantled after draining the oil. To do this, unscrew 16 screws for a turnkey by 10. There is a magnet in the pallet, designed to catch metal wear products.

By the quantitative and qualitative composition of metal particles, it is possible to assess the degree of wear of the automatic transmission. After dismantling, the pallet is thoroughly cleaned of oil residues and fine metal particles.

Installing a new filter

The filter is fastened with two bolts of 10. After removing it, another 300-400 grams of oil will drain.

The pallet is connected to the crankcase without a gasket. The sealant function is performed by a layer of sealant. When installing the pallet, it is important to carefully apply the sealant to the mating surfaces.

We clean the magnet on the pallet

Insufficient quantity may cause smudges. Surplus can be squeezed into a pallet. Subsequently, they will fall into the filter, where they will remain forever. This will reduce the throughput of the filter element.

Complete replacement using a stand

On a Mazda CX-5 car, a complete replacement means contacting a car service, which has an installation for changing the oil in an automatic transmission. Complete replacement on your own without understanding how the working fluid circulates in the system, or without specialized equipment, can damage the box.

When completely replaced, a new filter is installed. The operation will require 16 to 20 liters of new transmission oil. As practice shows, the clarified liquid comes out after pumping 10-12 liters through the system.

But to completely clean the system of old grease, you will need to use about 20 liters. It will be necessary to completely update the fluid after interfering with the mechanical component of the automatic transmission or in the case of flushing the valve body.

Any repairs made with the dismantling of the box and its disassembly involves the replacement of the transmission oil.

We have a Mazda CX-5 car on scheduled maintenance, on which it is necessary to change the oil in the automatic transmission. We will show you a visual photo and video instruction on how to do it yourself.

For work, we need a 4-liter oil canister, with the approval of the Mazda company, you can use the original, but we will fill in an analogue that has shown itself well. We will make the replacement with the removal of the pallet, it is installed on the sealant, so you need to purchase it in advance. You will also need to purchase an automatic transmission filter.

We unscrew the bolts securing the crankcase protection (3 bolts in the front and 2 in the rear), move it slightly forward and lower it. We have removed the protection of the engine compartment, but it is difficult for us to get to the dipstick of the oil filter. We need to unscrew the iron plate on which the crankcase protection is attached:

We got access to the probe, now we turn off the screw that secures the probe to the box casing with a 10-point head. We do this due to the fact that it is extremely problematic to get to this probe from above, we block access to the air duct.

Now we need to check the oil level and make sure that it is normal, since we will fill in based on the volume of the old oil drained. We take out and wipe the dipstick and then reinsert it into the box, start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature, move the selector to all positions and return it to the parking lot. We take out the dipstick again, wipe it and insert it into the automatic transmission.

We take out and check the level, it should be normal. With an 8 hexagon, unscrew the drain plug on the gearbox pallet:

We drain the old oil into a prepared container, then it is necessary to take a measurement in order to understand how much will then need to be poured. After draining, wrap the cork back. We proceed to remove the pallet, we need to unscrew 16 bolts with a 10 head:

We unscrewed all the bolts, but the pallet is still held by the sealant, so we take a mounting spade and pry it from several sides:

Prepare a wide container in advance, where the oil will flow from the pallet. Unscrew the automatic transmission filter:

When removed, it will also pour out old oil. There is a magnet in the pallet that attracts small metal shavings, be sure to remove it and clean it thoroughly. We clean the pallet and remove the remnants of the old sealant.

Pre-lubricate the rubber seals on the filter with ATF and install it in place. We apply a thin layer of sealant to the pallet, so that, upon contact, it cannot get into the inside of the box. We carefully apply it, bait all the bolts, then tighten them all evenly.

Now we need to pour oil into our machine, since access to the dipstick is blocked by the air filter housing, so we remove it. We unscrew the two bolts securing the air intake:

We unfasten the connector from the MAF sensor. We loosen the clamp from the air intake. We remove the pipe from the air filter housing and take it to the side. Lift the filter housing, unfasten the harness fastener from the side:

Remove the housing together with the air filter. We insert a hose of a suitable size into the hole of the probe and a funnel at its other end:

We fill in new oil, the same volume that we drained, we got almost 4 liters. Putting everything together in the reverse order, warm up the engine and check the level on the dipstick.

The main forms of oil change in automatic transmission

1. "Plum-Zaliv". The simplest and fastest form of fragmented oil change in the "box" automatic transmission. Old oil is drained through the drain hole in the automatic transmission pan. The approximate volume is 3.5-4 liters. This amount of fresh oil is poured into the "box" through the technological hole for the dipstick for checking the oil level.

2. Incomplete oil change with automatic transmission oil filter change ... Work of medium complexity. Operations for removing the automatic transmission pan and replacing the filter are added to the first point.

3. Complete oil change with automatic transmission oil filter change ... Performed at the service station using special equipment (for example, the Wynn's TranServe II + device)

Incomplete with automatic transmission oil filter change.

Checking the transmission oil level in the automatic transmission

Checking the oil level is carried out on an automatic transmission warmed up to 50 degrees (automatic gearbox)
Place the car in the inspection pit. The work is carried out from the bottom of the car.
Remove the pallet protection. Unscrew the screw 10 that holds the dipstick. Remove the dipstick from the technological hole. There are 2 marks on the dipstick - max and min.

Start the engine.
Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth (rag).
Insert the dipstick into the technological hole to measure the oil level in the automatic transmission.
"Work" with the gear lever, switching the speed modes. Start from "Parking" to the last gear and in reverse order. Switch without long pauses, within 2 seconds. between gears.

At the end of the gear shifting procedure, remove the dipstick and visually assess the oil level in the automatic transmission.
Check the quality of the oil by dropping it from the dipstick onto a blank sheet of white paper.

Incomplete oil change with automatic transmission oil filter change.

Place the car in the inspection pit. Remove the engine protection (if it is on the vehicle), to do this, loosen the 2 bolts at the rear and unscrew the 3 bolts at the front. Gently pull the guard forward, in the direction of the vehicle, and down. There is access to the automatic transmission pan and drain plug.

To access the dipstick, remove the front cover to which the engine compartment protection is attached. With a 10 key or a head, unscrew the screw that attaches the probe to the automatic transmission case. Of course, it's easier to do this from above, from under the hood, to do this, remove the air filter. And it will still come in handy for starting the engine.

Check the oil level in the box as described above.

The oil level should be within the normal range. Guideline for filling with fresh oil, the volume of the old drained.
Make sure that the oil level is normal, unscrew the drain plug from the automatic transmission pan. An 8-point hex wrench is used.

Substitute container to drain old oil. Measure how much of the used oil has been drained, pour in the same amount when filling with fresh oil.

Wipe the drain hole and screw the plug in the box.
Take a 10 key and unscrew 16 bolts around the perimeter of the pallet.

The pallet is on the sealant, to remove, use a spudger or flat-head screwdriver, inserting it from different sides and working like a lever.

A certain amount of old oil remains in the sump and filter, prepare a container in advance in order to substitute for draining the remaining oil.

Remove the old automatic transmission oil filter.

Inspect and clean the pallet from old sealant around the perimeter and possible dirt.
The pallet contains a magnet that collects metal dust. Remove, clean and put back.

Install the new filter in place, having previously lubricated the rubber seals with fresh gear oil.

To remove the air filter, loosen the clamp at the air intake. Unfasten the connector at the DMRV (mass air flow sensor). Remove and lay aside the pipe from the air filter housing.
Unfasten the retaining clip for the harness. To do this, lift the filter housing and squeeze the piston from the side.

Pull up and remove the air filter housing together with the filter.

Remove the dipstick and insert a hose suitable for the diameter of the hole. Put a funnel on the free end of the hose to make it easier to fill in fresh oil.

When filling with oil, we control the volume to be filled. It should be no more than the old oil has been drained.

After filling with oil, insert the dipstick, fix it and assemble the air filter into place.

After warming up the engine to 50 gr. Check the oil level on the dipstick.
Reinstall engine guard.

Oil change with filter change completed.

Video: Oil change in an automatic transmission Mazda CX-5

I shoveled a lot of information, consulted with the servicemen about the need to change the oil in the automatic transmission and came to the conclusion: 1 - if the car was bought new and you are sure of the real mileage of the car, then ... it is better to do a full flush of the automatic transmission and fill in fresh oil EVERY time with a mileage of 50 -60 thousand km 2 - if the car was bought from hands and the REAL mileage is unknown, then ... it is better to do a PARTIAL oil change, otherwise old deposits can clog the channels in the box. 3 - do not change anything at all and drive until symptoms appear, and then quickly sell cars and look for a new one. Because treatment is already usually useless and costly and impractical. Well, in general, I decided to do according to point 1, since the mileage is 52 thousand km today.

I went to the club service www.mazda-sto.ru where all the work was done on flushing the automatic transmission, replacing the filter and completely changing the oil.

The oil was dark greenish and dirty (naturally). Poured in until the blue oil poured from the hose. There were few shavings on the magnet and everything was fine. 18 liters of ATF oil Mazda FZ went to flush The gears began to turn on softer. So that there are no questions why flush the automatic transmission when you can just drain the old and fill in new oil ... read and look further

We turn on the installation and observe what is happening. What the installation does: if initially the oil simply circulated through the installation, then after switching on, the installation breaks this circulation and begins to drain the oil coming from the box into a special canister, on the other side from the container with new oil, with exactly the same pressure as the old oil is drained, new oil is fed into the box.

old dirty oil leaks from the automatic transmission

Thus, on the one hand, we drain the old oil and, at the same time, fill in a new one on the other, while the level or amount of oil in the automatic transmission remains constant, the box does not even understand that the oil is changing at the moment. the task is to get the following result. Moreover, in order to completely flush the automatic transmission from the old oil and fill it up to the level in the box, an average of from! 10 to 20 liters of new oil, depending on the condition of the old oil, wear, mileage, etc.

Oil change in automatic transmission Mazda CX 5

The Mazda CX-5 is a Japanese urban SUV introduced in 2011. Over the five years of production, the car has shown itself on the positive side - both in terms of handling and comfort, and the quality of service. But if there can be no complaints about the quality of the expensive Mazda CX-5 service, then what about the owners of crossovers that have run out of warranty? Many people sell a car in order to avoid unjustified costs for repairs at a dealership, while others, nevertheless, prefer to service their car on their own, and turn to the service only in case of major breakdowns. Indeed, some procedures can be performed on their own - for example, changing the oil in the gearbox. Surely many are interested in how to do it correctly. All this is described in detail in the article using the example of the Mazda CX-5 2011 model year, with an automatic transmission.

Oil change nuances

Usually, the oil in the automatic transmission is designed for the entire service life of the product. At least that's what the manufacturer claims in the user manual. But on the other hand, sooner or later the oil will lose its properties, and here the question arises - when exactly will this happen? Taking into account the difficult operating conditions that are prevailing in Russia today, an unambiguous answer can be given - it is necessary to change the oil much more often than provided for in the manual. So, if the instructions say about a figure close to 80-90 thousand kilometers, then in reality the liquid change regulation (for Russian conditions) is 40-50 thousand km, or even earlier.

What kind of oil to fill

It is recommended to purchase the oil that came from the factory. The best option is Mazda Original Oil Ultra OW-20 original transmission fluid. Alternatively, any well-known brand with 5W-30 SM parameters can be advised.

What you need to replace

  • Original Mazda fluid (or equivalent)
  • Wynns Flushing Fluid for Complex Cleaning
  • Original oil filter
  • New hermetic pallet application. The best option is a product from Loctite
  • TranServe Wynns Installation Device

Sequence of work

  1. Before proceeding directly to the procedure, it is necessary to warm up the engine. To do this, it is enough to travel 5-10 kilometers around the city.
  2. Drive the car onto the overpass, turn off the engine, switch the transmission to the "parking" position
  3. Go under the overpass, dismantle the crankcase. Please note that hot oil may remain in the crankcase, so you need to be careful
  4. After removing the crankcase, the TranServe Wynns unit must be connected. After switching on, the device will begin to circulate liquid. This procedure takes place automatically.
  5. After completing work with the device, remove the air filter, and then fill in a special flushing liquid
  6. Fix the filter housing in place, start the engine. It must run at idle speed for at least 15 minutes.
  7. Pour new oil into the TranServe Wynns diagnostic device, after which you can observe the following picture: on the one hand, new oil will flow from the device into the box, and on the other hand, old fluid will flow out. The gearbox flushing process can be considered complete when the old fluid changes its black color to light. This means that there is no more old oil in the box. After that, the installation can be turned off
  8. Dismantle the pan, remove the old oil filter, and put a new filter in its place
  9. Put the pallet back in place
  10. We make sure that the oil level is sufficient, and then re-tighten and wipe the screw fasteners to avoid oil drips. Complete oil change completed.

When is an automatic transmission oil change required for CX-5?

There are three reasons for this procedure: oil leakage, low level and restoration of mechanisms after a serious breakdown. In other cases, replacement is not required, because ATF is filled in by the manufacturer once and for the entire service life.

The role of oil in the operation of the gearbox

Functions of the automatic transmission fluid in the CX-5 device:

  • lubrication of rubbing elements (increasing the wear resistance of mechanisms);
  • heat removal;
  • effective removal of particles that appear due to corrosive processes.

Leakage of oil fluid is a rather unpleasant thing that can be prevented by eliminating the causes. A typical list of the main reasons for oil leakage in the gearbox of the Mazda CX-5 model:

  • input shaft clearance;
  • severe wear of the oil seals;
  • deformation of shaft surfaces;
  • damage to the layer that performs the sealing function;
  • loosening of the connecting bolts.

If the above problems are not present, then leakage becomes unlikely.

The low level of the substance also harms the box: the clutches quickly fail. An insufficient amount of ATF provokes poor contact between the clutches, which is explained by low pressure. Result: The linings are overheated and destroyed. This entails subsequent contamination with ATP.

How do I check the oil level?

To check the level of transmission fluid in a Mazda CX-5 car, you will need a dipstick. This tool has special labels. The lower pair is intended for determining the level of cold oil, while the upper pair, on the contrary, is for hot oil. To check, you need to drip oil onto a white cloth: the lighter the oil, the fresher and cleaner.

Choosing a new oil

If there is a need to replace ATF, then you should adhere to the following rules. First, it's best to use the variety that Mazda recommends. Secondly, you cannot take funds of a lower class than recommended by the manufacturer.

Types of oil change in the transmission of a Mazda CX 5 car

There are two types of procedure: partial and complete. Partial oil changes can be done with your own hands. In this case, the filter of the gearbox of the CX-5 crossover can not be changed. To carry out this operation, you must perform the following steps:

  • install the car on the overpass;
  • unscrew the drain of the pallet;
  • drain the transmission fluid into a container.

It should be noted that a maximum of 40% will naturally come out, so an update actually takes place.

To carry out a full replacement, you must contact a professional car service. Specialists will flush the box with a large amount of transmission substance, this is significantly more expensive than a simple update.

How often should ATF be replaced in the Mazda CX 5 crossover?

It is best to focus not on the mileage, but on the degree of contamination of the substance. That is why it is worth regularly checking the condition with an oil dipstick. The frequency of monitoring depends on the way the vehicle is used. An average ride involves 3-4 checks per year.

Automatic transmission repair on Mazda CX 5

It is best to entrust the repair of the box to professionals. If there are “symptoms” of a problem, then you need to urgently contact a car service: timely contact will help save money and time. The driver should be alerted to the following symptoms:

  • slipping;
  • a signal on the panel, which indicates the transition to emergency mode;
  • vibration;
  • jerks when shifting gears;
  • loss of transmission;
  • braking;
  • transmission noise.

Automatic transmission problems Mazda CX 5

Any transmission has weak points. In this case, there are not many of them, but they are also available. The most common alarm bell: slipping and jerking when changing gears. Most often, electromagnetic valves (solenoids) fail, of which there are 7 pieces in the valve body. It should be noted that the control is completely electronic, therefore, in the event of a breakdown, the entire component has to be changed (in most cases). The cost of overhaul of the transmission can reach 45,000 rubles.

Destruction of the gland is extremely rare. The oil pump is prone to quick wear, so problems can arise with it. Sometimes the torque converter of the Mazda CX 5 automatic transmission may break down: wear of the friction lining of the lock piston.

How is the repair of the CX 5 transformer carried out?

This procedure should be carried out exclusively by specialists. The renovation consists of two main stages:

  1. Disassembly. After disassembly, detailed diagnostics of the current state of iron, replacement of worn-out elements, and thorough cleaning of contaminants take place.
  2. Assembly. After the rehabilitation stages, the body is subject to welding, leak testing and balancing.

It should be noted that this procedure does not restore the primary resource. A repaired torque converter has a residual life of 80% of the original.

Price of automatic transmission Mazda CX 5

All the electronics of the car are quite expensive, the gearbox is no exception. That is why the rehabilitation of the transmission, the purchase of individual components, is expensive. Maintenance of the car (systematic oil check, winter heating, regular technical inspection, and so on) will help save a large amount, because the transmission is not eternal. The following will be the approximate cost of some of the elements of the gearbox. So, for example, the crankcase costs around 1,500 rubles. The cost of the automatic transmission selector of the Mazda CX 5 varies in the range of 6-8 thousand rubles.

However, as mentioned earlier, most often box repair involves a complete change of working components.

Also, many people care about the appearance of the gearbox. After some time, external elements (handle, etc.) may lose their presentation. This is especially true for models that were released a long time ago. If the driver often operated the car, did not treat it too carefully, transported animals, then the occurrence of abrasions is inevitable. Currently, there are car services that are engaged in tightening the gear knob on the Mazda CX 5. The procedure will be cheaper if the steering wheel is also updated at the same time. The cost of pulling the handle varies in the range of 3-6 thousand rubles, it takes about 3 hours for a worker. Leather can be factory-like or customized.

Driving with an unusual gearbox: teaching automatic transmission Mazda CX 5

Using this type of transmission does not bring any discomfort, the transition is also quite easy. For the purpose of driving safely, the manufacturer's bulletins must be consulted.

Oil change in automatic transmission - we keep the Mazda CX5 in good condition

Mazda CX5 is distinguished by the reliability of the gearbox. As a rule, this element fails very rarely. If there are signs such as slipping, vibrations and jerks, it is necessary to diagnose the automatic transmission.

A lack or insufficient amount of oil in the gearbox can lead to the above problems. The manufacturer Mazda CX5 gives recommendations on replacing this fluid every 60 thousand km with a manual transmission, and after 3-4 years with an automatic transmission.

It is better to entrust all replacement work to specialists, but you can also do this yourself. It is necessary to use Mazda Dexlia Original Oil ATF M-V or MAZDA Original oil Ultra 0W-20 (SN). Service shops often use 5W-30 (SM). In any case, the average fluid consumption for replacement is 14 liters.

Algorithm of work execution

For the production of work, you will need the following materials:

  • original oil;
  • flushing agent;
  • filter;
  • pallet sealant;
  • installing TranServe Wynn's.

In the Mazda CX 5, the oil in the automatic transmission is changed in the following sequence:

  1. Raise the vehicle and remove the underbody protection.
  2. Connect the TranServe Wynn's installation.
  3. Remove the air filter housing and refill with flushing fluid.
  4. Secure the body and start the car.
  5. Leave to work for 20 minutes.
  6. Fill in new fluid until a clean one flows from the hose.
  7. Turn off the installation.
  8. Open the pallet, clean it and the magnet from sedimentary material.
  9. Remove the filter and install a new one.
  10. Stick the pallet with the magnet in place.
  11. Set the liquid level.

Regular oil changes in the Mazda CX 5 automatic transmission will ensure smooth operation and long service life of the transmission. Do not neglect such procedures and wait for the appearance of really obvious breakdowns.

Today, car repair with your own hands is a process that you can carry out yourself. This does not require special skills or abilities, it is enough to stock up on a certain amount of time, effort and a minimum amount of tools. Do-it-yourself oil change in a Mazda CX-5 automatic transmission is a common request on the Internet. In order to carry out a lubricant change at a high professional level, you should use a step-by-step algorithm, clearly following the sequence of actions.

Functions of oil in automatic transmission in a car

The oil change in the automatic transmission on the Mazda cx5 should occur on a regular basis. A car with poor transmission lubrication loses its own power resources, often breaks down and eventually fails. First of all, the oil in the automatic transmission performs the following functions:

  • Cooling special mechanism, special gear design;
  • Protection against external influences, including corrosion of the metal inside the mechanism itself;
  • Providing smooth grip;
  • Transfer of a special torque element of the system;
  • Providing a special lubrication that provides preventive action and prevents wear on the mechanism within the system.

As a rule, special requirements are imposed on the automatic transmission oil, which in normal mode are much higher than that of the engine oil.

How to change the oil in an automatic transmission in a Mazda cx5 on your own?

What mileage is needed to change the oil in the automatic transmission in the Mazda cx5 is a common request among motorists and car owners. In order to carry out the process correctly, you should give preference only to high-quality lubricating fluids, such as ATF M-V and ATF - FZ. Today the cost of this product is about 350 rubles.

There are several variations of oil change in a car. The first option is a simplified way to change the product, the second is with a complete replacement of the oil filter. With a simplified method, you will need a jack and a special container for draining the grease, as the necessary tools at hand. In the second option, it is required to remove the automatic transmission pan to gain access to the oil filter.

According to the technical user manual, the oil change intervals are about 4 months when the vehicle is operated in normal urban conditions. It is worth remembering that when using a vehicle in extreme conditions, replacement should occur somewhat more often.

Mazda cx5 and cx9 have a similar structure of the mechanism, respectively, the algorithm for changing the transmission fluid is similar.

Safety precautions must be observed in both the first and second options. To do this, turn off the ignition of the car for 15 minutes - thereby letting the car cool down, after which you can start working.

Draining old oil and flushing the sump with removal of chips

Removing used gear oil from the gearbox for Mazda cx5 is carried out in accordance with the following step-by-step instructions:

  • Unscrewing the drain plug according to the technical manual of the user;
  • Wait a while to drain the automatic transmission oil into a special container;
  • If there are residues of grease or shavings at the bottom, you must use an ordinary syringe to remove old residues in the system;
  • Flush the system with a special liquid, according to the technical manual of the user.
  • To do this, use the original Mazda car fluid. Use a rag to wipe off metal shavings from the magnets.

It is also necessary to check the condition of the filter in the system and, if necessary, replace it.

Filling new oil in automatic transmission

The step-by-step process of filling the new Mazda CX-5 fluid and changing the oil in the automatic transmission is as follows:

  • First you need to unscrew a special automatic transmission pallet;
  • Wipe it dry with a special rag, preferably lint-free;
  • Install the automatic transmission filter, replace the gasket if necessary;
