How to choose a used Lanos. Weaknesses, advantages and typical disadvantages of used Chevrolet Lanos

15.03.2020

On November 30, the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant announced that it would stop producing the famous Lanos in Ukraine. “For now we will produce only small commercial vehicles,” said Tariel Vasadze, head of the Ukravto corporation.

"Lanos" really disappeared from model range official website of ZAZ, and the plant had to cut staff. There are 1100-1200 people left. These specialists mainly combine the functions of a welder, painter and assembler.

But in the years when the plant worked at full power(2007-2008), the ZAZ group employed about 20 thousand people.

"Country" remembered what is known about the only " people's car", which was produced in independent Ukraine.

Euro plaques and the greed of the owners were crippled

According to Vasadze, the reason for this decision was high competition with manufacturers from Europe or Asia. But the main thing is the “European number plate”, which facilitated the import of uncleared cars at bargain prices of 1.5-2 thousand euros.

At ZAZ in recent years There was a significant drop in sales of new cars. Thus, in 2015, 2.8 thousand new passenger cars of all types were sold. For comparison, in 2007 - 61 thousand.

However, the company found a convenient excuse to curtail production in the form of “European coins”. The reasons lie deeper. Sales of Lanos and its subtypes were falling even without any “Euro-labels” - even before Euromaidan, with the assistance of powerful protective duties on imported cars.

The decline in Lanos sales has been going on since 2011 without any “Euro plaques”

So, with an average price of $9,000 per new model, Ukrainian-made Lanos was much inferior in quality to used foreign cars of the same price range. For 9-10 thousand dollars you could buy almost new Skoda Fabia, Hyundai Accent or Chevrolet Aveo Korean assembly.

In the end, Lanos could only compete with the low price of spare parts produced in Ukraine. That's why it became a favorite car for taxi drivers, who quickly “killed” cars and saved on repairs. As a result, most Lanos quickly turned into junk cars on wheels, repaired and repainted dozens of times.

Declining prestige of Lanos

This caused the “lumpenization” of the car: if in 2007 the car was considered a strong middle peasant on the scale of prestige for the middle class, then by the end of 2013 it became the prince of the “lower caste” of car enthusiasts.

Many taxi services gradually abandoned the Lanos - customers began en masse to demand not to send this car to a call.

The “people's car” was quickly pushed to the sidelines of the trend - at that price, motorists did not want to buy a “bucket of nuts.”

Many, as an alternative to cheap transport, switched to more available models Russian VAZ. In addition, they began to enter the market chinese cars, which were taken at a low price with comparable - or higher - quality.

By the way, about VAZ. Model similar to "Lanos" Lada Granta V basic configuration on the Russian market in 2013 it cost $5,000 - versus $9,000 for the Ukrainian “people’s car.”

Thus, only one "Grant" took 6.7% Russian market 2013. Then like everyone else cars In the same year, ZAZ occupied only 9% of the Ukrainian market - even Lada was ahead of them at home, occupying 10% of domestic sales (and this despite protective duties).

History of Lanos in Ukraine

But the first Lanos that came to Ukraine were unique in their own way. It was, as they said then, an “underdeveloped” C-class. The car was produced in Poland, had Korean components and in the early 2000s cost 8-9 thousand dollars ex-showroom.

Many motorists who bought this Lanos drove it for many years. And even when the Ukrainian assembly began, used “Poles” were valued more than their Ukrainian used colleagues.

The car was originally produced by Daewoo. The Lanos development program began in the fall of 1993. It was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1997 under the name Daewoo Lanos.

The car was designed by the Daewoo Research and Development Center in collaboration with German and English engineering companies. The body design was developed by the famous Italian studio ItalDesign. The launch of Lanos cost the company $420 million. The model was available in three versions: a three-door hatchback, a five-door hatchback and a sedan. There was also a limited series of Lanos Cabrio convertibles, which were manufactured from 1997 to 2002.

At first, Daewoo Lanos were produced only in Korea, but soon, in 1997, Lanos began to be assembled in Poland. Since 1998, large-unit assembly of the first generation Lanos has been established in Ukraine at the AvtoZAZ-Deu joint venture. In the same year, a car under the name Doninvest Assol began to be assembled in Russia, but production was soon curtailed due to low demand.

In 2003, Ukravto signed an agreement with GM Daewoo to create full-scale production of Lanos models at ZAZ with a capacity of up to 90 thousand units per year. Meanwhile, in Poland in 2008, production of Lanos was discontinued.

Since September 2008, Lanos has become a Ukrainian car in terms of all production localization features. At ZAZ, stamping, welding, body painting, vehicle assembly are carried out, and for some models, engines are also produced at the Melitopol Motor Plant. To produce Lanos bodies, the plant had to almost completely change all equipment, because new car required other stamping, welding and painting technologies.

Transition to the taxi segment

Since November 2012, Lanos cars with factory gas equipment began to be produced. This was a response to the demand for gas equipment among those who want to save on fuel. And a special compliment to the taxi drivers, who were already beginning to become the main target audience for Lanos manufacturers.

Thus, the car was completely switched to Ukrainian components. It would seem that the price should have fallen, but this did not happen: the Ukrainian assembly, which caused serious complaints about quality, cost the same $9,000 as the Polish-Korean one ten years ago.

This was the beginning of the decline of Lanos in Ukraine. The car, which slipped from the C-class to the B-class, has made almost no “rollback” in price. "People's" and made to the last nut in Ukraine, "Lanos" lasted less than six years.

If you don’t know what is the reason why fuel consumption increases on a Chevrolet Lanos, and after replacing the spark plugs and making adjustments, everything returns to its place after a certain time, then this article will help clarify the situation a little.

There can be many reasons for this state of affairs. The services may tell you one thing, offering expensive repairs, diagnostics may show something else, but none of this gives the desired result. There are two ways out of this situation so as not to suffer– sell such a car or eliminate the cause on your own.

Finding the reason increased consumption fuel.

If the car owner is well versed in engines, then he can check certain systems that are associated with high fuel consumption. First of all, attention should be paid to the fact that the most normal instantaneous fuel consumption rate is 0.5-0.6, and not 0.7, as is commonly believed. If this indicator changes to on-board computer after refueling, it means that the gasoline that was poured was of poor quality. It's worth changing the gas station here. If changes occur towards the indicator 1.0 and more when moving, then the problem may be in other systems.

Instantaneous fuel consumption readings for Lanos should be at the level of 0.5-0.6.

Engine firmware will not help here, since it is worth changing the entire program that the manufacturer has configured for such fuel consumption in order for the car to simply drive.

Here you need to be patient and decide whether it is worth carrying out such work on your car. If yes, then this article will help clear the picture a little.

Chipping a Lanos will not help reduce fuel consumption.

Fuel consumption adjustment

To calibrate the process you will need a laptop and diagnostic equipment. Any system can be used. Multitronics on the on-board computer can also be useful.

Process

  1. Warm up the engine until operating temperature(until the fan turns on). If the fan turns on at 95 degrees, then this is normal. In this mode, the engine will use less fuel and its injection will decrease. If such settings need to be changed, then you should turn to experienced chip tuners, since the car owner’s task is to do a simple calibration of the system, and not to change the firmware.
  2. Connect diagnostic equipment or invite a specialist. Next you will need to select parameters. To carry out this work, you should first change the spark plugs.

Indications for computer diagnostics Chevrolet Lanos.

The parameters must be changed according to your requirements. You should only engage in work if you have certain experience.

There may also be a problem with the DBP MAP sensor. It can be checked. To do this, you should disconnect the chip from it and measure the voltage. It should be no more 5 V.

Knowing these points, you can eliminate high consumption fuel in your car.

GRAY DAYS

We don’t know what mood the designers of the Giugiaro studio (Italdesign studio) were in, but this “remnant” from their pen is clearly not the best work. Maybe that’s why the nickname “gray mouse” has firmly stuck to the model. So, without further ado, colleagues nicknamed the editorial office “Lanos” in exactly the same way (ZR, 2009, No. 3).

ON THE PATH OF EVOLUTION

"Lanos" is built on the units of the "Daewoo-Nexia", but still has some differences. First of all, this is a body - different not only in appearance, but also in its power structure. The new skeleton withstood the impact of the EuroNCAP cube with dignity (see History of the model). Of course, three stars is not a good result, but still much better than that of our ancestors. By the way, the descendants also performed poorly in this discipline. Let's say the Chevrolet Aveo earned only 6 points for a frontal impact, which, compared to the 10.5 points of the Lanos, looks like a failure.

In normal operation, the body holds up more resistantly than that of the mother “Nexia”: corrosion of the lower edges of the doors and wheel arches is not yet visible even on cars from the first batches. But the hood does not withstand sandblasting and relatively quickly becomes covered with red spots. Don't wait for these pits to gnaw holes in the metal - clean and paint over it immediately!

There is little hassle with the body equipment. Perhaps the only typical problem is the breakdown of the heater handles. This is not only the fault of the plant, which used too fragile plastic, but also of the owners themselves. You just don’t need to turn these knobs quickly, applying excessive force, especially in the cold.

Sometimes, if you’re in a hurry, you pull the lever of the gas tank flap and it’ll rip it off. seat cable sheath. Therefore, you need to pull gently, and in order for the shell to hold more securely, we will tie it to the lock body with at least ordinary thread.

The reliability of electrical equipment depends on where the machine is assembled. Korean copies do not cause trouble, but Ukrainian ones, which dominate the market, do so regularly. Most often relays fail, so carry a couple of spare ones with you. Preferably Korean ones - they are a little more expensive, but more durable. The MAP (Mass Air Pressure) sensor, with which the controller calculates the engine air flow, often malfunctions. The first symptom of a malfunction is increased speed idle speed and fuel consumption. In advanced cases, there may even be interruptions in the ignition of the mixture, which is dangerous for the neutralizer. Therefore, do not delay replacing the sensor. Again, it’s better to put it in Korean.

MODEL HISTORY

  • 1997 Debut of Daewoo Lanos. Body types: sedan and 5-door hatchback. Engines: petrol, P4, 1.4 l, 55 kW/75 hp; P4, 1.5 l, 63 kW/86 hp; P4, 1.6 l, 78 kW/106 hp. Front-wheel drive, M5.

  • 2004 Production of the model in Korea has been discontinued. At the end of the year, the first cars were assembled in Zaporozhye with a modified sedan body (additional safety bars were introduced into the load-bearing frame, roof pillars and some load-bearing panels were strengthened). New engine: P4, 1.3 l, 51 kW/70 hp (Melitopol MeMZ-307, which were previously installed on Tavria); the modification with this engine received its own name “ZAZ-Sens”.
  • 2005 Start of deliveries to Russia of cars with an 86-horsepower engine.
  • 2006 Minor facelift - the radiator grille has changed. EuroNCAP crash test: 10.5 points for frontal impact. Result: three stars.

“TILKI PALIVO BEZ SVYNTSIU”

Only Lanos with 8-valve engines were officially supplied to our market. Unlike the similar G15MF engine that was equipped with the Nexia, the A15SMS engine has a higher compression ratio - 9.5 versus 8.6. And besides, the ignition system and converter are different. But the main thing is that the engine has become “plug-in” - this is what people call units in which, when the timing belt breaks, the pistons become “closely acquainted” with the valves. Monitor the drive in both directions and change the belt every 60 thousand km, as prescribed by the maintenance regulations. The pump, as a rule, works properly up to 120 thousand km, but it happens that it does not live up to this period. Therefore, when replacing the drive, carefully check its condition. If it jams, it will cut off the belt teeth, and then expensive engine repairs certainly cannot be avoided.

The cylinder-piston group is very reliable. Increased oil loss begins to appear no earlier than 250 thousand km. Often it is enough to change only piston rings And valve stem seals. Neither boring nor honing is usually required up to 500 thousand km.

Weak point - high voltage wires, rarely serving more than 100 thousand km. A clear sign of burnout of the current-carrying conductor is the twitching of the engine under load. A defective wire can be easily identified by testing the wire with an ohmmeter. Sometimes the reasons for failure are more prosaic - rodents eat the insulation of the wires. It looks like it's a treat for them. But in any case, you should not delay replacing the wires, since the converter will suffer due to ignition failures.

Keep an eye on the engine cooling radiator - it sometimes breaks down under the influence of deicing agents in just a season! But the air conditioner radiator, which rotted on Nexias, lasts quite a long time on Lanos. There are no complaints about the air conditioning compressor, you just need to keep an eye on tension roller. However, it is inexpensive and can be easily changed.

At 1500–2000 rpm and the gas pedal is barely pressed, many owners note unpleasant twitching, as if the car itself was either applying the gas or releasing the pedal. If this is very annoying, plug the exhaust gas recirculation valve - insert, for example, a steel ball into the hose that fits it. Of course, its diameter should be larger than the fitting (so that the ball does not get sucked into the engine).

Some people don’t like the fact that when changing gears (when the gas pedal is already released), the engine speed drops slowly. Know that this behavior is normal. A service bulletin was even published on this subject (SB 17-08-2007). According to it, dealers are obliged to explain to the client that the engine control unit was configured in this way deliberately - to facilitate the operation of the box synchronizers. It seems to us that the manufacturers are lying! Typically, this technique is used when they do not want to spend money on expensive full-fledged engine tuning in order to ensure strict environmental standards for the engine.

SO CE J "OPEL"!

Problems with manual transmission, in fact, it doesn’t happen. The German design turned out to be so reliable that it has outlived more than one Opel Cadet (without significant changes, the unit migrated first to the Nexia, and later to the Lanos). Unless the seals can leak, and even then only in old age - after 150 thousand km. The oil is filled for the entire service life, however, when the mileage reaches 200 thousand km, it is advisable to change it. Although it is more difficult than usual - no drain plug, so you have to remove the oil pan.

The clutch wears out at 120–130 thousand km, which is typical for any car. The first versions of the "Koreans" were less reliable cable drive. If you have such a copy, be sure to carry a spare cable with you. With hydraulics, the concerns are different - change the fluid every two years. In addition, over time, a creak appears at the point of contact of the working cylinder rod with the clutch fork. The reason for this is a broken centering bump on the rod, without which, in principle, you can drive. If the squeaking gets worse, you will have to change the working cylinder assembly (the rod is not sold separately).

The suspensions on the Lanos are the same as those on the Nexia. Accordingly, sores. Steering ends wear out by 60–80 thousand km, ball joints - by 120 thousand km. The latter are riveted to the lever, but spare parts are also supplied separately, together with fasteners. This kit is worth taking only if there are no microcracks on the lever - most often in the area of the front silent block. When changing the lever assembly, be sure to install a new front bolt (it is the most loaded, and there have been cases where it was cut off).

General information

Lanos is pretty unpretentious car, and with proper care will not cause any problems to its owner.

There are no sporting features in the character of the car, so it is optimal choice for those whose task is to normally move from point A to point B, if necessary, with their family and some small cargo.

What should be said that is not related to car breakdowns.

The metal from which the car body is made is relatively soft. Therefore, some care must be taken when handling the machine. Under no circumstances should you close the doors behind the panel; the presence of a dent is guaranteed; it is better to open the door and slam it again. You should also not swing the car by the wings to check the shock absorbers and struts. Also, the body does not withstand large hail and anything similar that falls from above on the car.

The glass is also soft. You should not wash bird droppings with a damp cloth in winter; scratches will probably remain.

What should you do immediately after purchase?

1) It is necessary to change the oil in the gearbox. Suitable oils are SAE 75W,75W-90, 75W-85, GL-4(GL4+). The best option is 100% synthetic oil. For manual transmissions 75/90, ARAL oil has proven itself to be very good for any season.

Many car enthusiasts claim that ARAL is even better than, for example, SMX-O oil produced by CASTROL.

2) It is advisable to replace the antifreeze, since recently there have been cases of its condition deteriorating even after a short mileage. TEXACO brand antifreeze, red, is recommended. The antifreeze that came with the car must be drained and then the cooling system must be flushed.

3) If possible, disconnect the contacts of the throttle position sensors, temperature sensors, and contacts C104 and C105, located under the plastic casing, under the hood, in the far left corner (when viewed from the open hood). Spray WD-40 on the contacts and connect them back. This will provide the injector wiring contacts with a margin of safety.

4) Widen the slot at the end of the condensate drain tube from the air conditioner evaporator, or cut the tube with a cross, otherwise, if this tube is clogged, water may flow into the cabin, and in quite large quantities. The air conditioner has built-in “fool protection”, but still, it is better not to turn on the air conditioner for high speed engine.

About the engine and injector

The engine on Lanos is durable and unpretentious. The sixteen-valve engine develops more power and has a longer engine life, but it is more picky about fuel and requires increased attention to the timing belt and roller. It is recommended to fill these motors with 10W-30 or 5W-30 lubricant, as the most universal for Russian climatic zones. The use of lubricants with viscosity zzW-50 or zzW-40 is not provided for in the documentation. Although the tolerances for the use of oils from Opel, in principle, include these oils in this classification. Therefore, due to the large number of tastes, preferences and other subjectivities, the responsibility for choosing oil falls entirely on the owner of the car. The choice can be “facilitated” by hundreds of “knowledgeable car enthusiasts”. For those who would like to follow the manufacturer's recommendations, we can recommend it as an all-season OPEL oils 5W-30. For experienced people SELENIA Performer Multipower 5W-30 with GM approval. The second option is perhaps the best, although more expensive. It is best to once choose one type of oil for yourself and your car and use only that.

Spark plugs and high-voltage wires. An important engine part and it lasts a long time. High-voltage wires on Lanos are always extremely reliable, with the exception of one situation: you should never, under any circumstances, disconnect the high-voltage wires from the spark plugs when the engine is hot or even warm, since in this case, due to lack of experience, the contacts of the wires in the caps are often torn . The wire should always be removed very carefully and carefully, constantly twisting the cap slightly in different directions. Resistance of serviceable high voltage wires is 2.5-4.5 Ohms for the shortest and longest. The spread of values can be 10-15%, but not 50%. The choice of candles is free. But we can still recommend NJK, CHAMPION or DENSO. However, these candles must have a cap that is not threaded at the end and cannot be unscrewed. Could upgrading the spark plugs and wires do anything? Hardly anything tangible. If the gap in the spark plugs corresponds to the standard of 0.8-1 mm, and the wiring is in good condition, then there will be no missing spark either with or without tuning.

Once the engine starts, there should be no adjustment. Otherwise, read the section about spark plugs and high-voltage wires.

Is it worth warming up the engine? Cold engine may be somewhat stupid, for which there are many reasons. It takes about a minute to warm up the engine and until the temperature gauge reaches the first division it is better not to increase the speed to 2000. The quality of the gasoline used most likely plays a significant role here.

Fuel consumption. Normal values for urban conditions are 8-8.5 liters per 100 kilometers, and outside the city 6-6.5 liters, when the car is fully loaded and driving at a speed of approximately 120 km/h. The revolutions do not exceed 4000. In the winter season, fuel consumption should not increase by more than a liter, most often by 0.5 liters. If fuel consumption increases more, it means something is wrong.

Injectors. For cleaning injectors it is better to use special liquid, ultrasonic cleaning is not recommended.

It is recommended to clean the throttle space and the channel in which the crankcase gases are burned, the fitting for a 5 mm hose with an internal hole diameter of approximately 1.5 mm, located behind the idle air control. Due to a dirty fitting, small dips may occur when the throttle is slightly open.

Brakes, gearbox, transmission

It is worth noting several features of the checkpoint.

At low speeds, first gear is difficult to engage. This is due to the fact that the synchronizer for the first gear has a rather primitive design, and for the last it is absent as such. If you use a thicker brand of oil, this feature is aggravated.

There is a whine of the gearbox in first and second gears when increasing speed, in the rpm range of 2200-2800. The phenomenon is “normal” and there is no need to try to eliminate it, nothing will come of it, and you can easily mess things up. After some time, this howl becomes quieter, but does not disappear completely.

Discs and brake pads worth buying only from official dealer. First of all, it's safer. Secondly, it’s easier in terms of having a warranty; there won’t be any special problems if you have to replace something, for example, if vibrations and beatings occur, which often happens when buying discs and pads in all sorts of markets and bazaars at temptingly low prices.

After some time, braking efficiency decreases. Most often this occurs because the driver gets used to the gas pedal and presses the brake also smoothly and carefully. If you feel that the brakes are not working effectively enough, try pressing on the brake with your left foot. Replace brake fluid it is necessary according to the schedule established by the documentation, at least at least once every three, and preferably every two years.

Suspension

The suspension that comes with the car breaks through quite easily. The weak point is the shock absorbers and rear springs, especially DELPHI, which is made in Poland. It is recommended to replace the shock absorbers with gas-oil shock absorbers produced by Kayaba, Bilstein, etc. The rear springs, if they are out of order, will be replaced with “kilen” springs, but the shock absorption at the rear will become stiffer.

Wheels

The choice of wheels is also made according to everyone's personal preferences. The only recommendation is not to experiment with offset, and buy wheels with an offset of no less than 45.

Optics and lighting

Foggy headlights are a fairly common occurrence. It can be corrected by replacing the headlight with a new one, under warranty of course, or by sealing the headlight. During the operation of the Lanos, it was noticed that this phenomenon disappears if the foam inserts located in the ventilation rubber bands are removed from both chambers. As a lamp manufacturer, we can recommend PHILIPS, GT-150 or 4000K lamps. The 4000K has a whiter light, and the GT-150 has more power.

There are no problems with it, you just need to watch the belts.

Everything else

A characteristic feature of cars of this price category there are defects like “crickets in the interior”. The loudest “singing” is the hinges of door locks and rear seats. These shortcomings can be eliminated. Eliminating rattling rear windows is a slightly more difficult task, but not impossible. You should not use fuel additives, the quality of the fuel will not improve, and the fuel level sensor in the tank will fail sooner. It is better to install wiper blades for the winter season accordingly. It would also be good to remember to fill the windshield washer system with winter fluid.

Chevrolet Lanos- This is an economy class car. It was first introduced in 2008. Naturally, you shouldn’t expect any outstanding performance from an economy-class car. And the Chevrolet Lanos also has its pros and cons. However, often shortcomings are revealed that should not exist. Moreover, defects appear in all major systems and parts of the car. They appear in both new and used cars. And regardless of what equipment the car is in, what body it was purchased in.

The car is equipped five speed manual transmission. Its main drawback is not so much in reliability and service life, but in user qualities. The device does not turn on clearly and is noisy. Changing the oil will help correct the situation. This procedure must be performed every 30 thousand km. Thus, the hum will become quieter or disappear completely, but for a while.

After 55 thousand km, the rocker becomes loose for no apparent reason. Adjusting the unit will help restore the previous state. The clutch can last no more than 60 thousand km. Longer periods of up to 100 thousand km are also known, subject to careful handling.

The disadvantage of the body is the paintwork. It is of poor quality, so chips and scratches quickly appear on it. Corrosion resistance is low; parts begin to rust after three years. Arches, sills, door edges, trunk lid and hood are especially vulnerable. It is possible to deal with the problem. It is enough to treat the body with a special anti-corrosion agent every 5 years.

The weak point is the trunk lock. Over time it breaks down and needs to be replaced with a new one. In the cabin and luggage compartment moisture may form.

A common problem with Chevrolet Lanos is the low efficiency of brakes, especially the rear ones. It is especially noticeable if you do not change the brake fluid every 30 thousand km.

Chassis

The elements of the Chevrolet Lanos chassis are distinguished by their short-term operation. Car owners highlight weak shock absorbers. After only 50 thousand kilometers, a comfortable suspension ceases to be so. There are many complaints about the wheel bearings, which begin to crunch after 20-25 thousand km. Ball joints require replacement every 50-60 thousand km. Their sudden breakdown is a frequent malfunction of Lanos. Another “sore” of the machine is steering rack. Often there is a leak, a knock, a hum, and the steering rack ends fail.

A lot of problems arise with the engine. And if the 1.6 liter engine more or less pleases the owners stable work, then the 1.5 liter engine requires constant attention. Toothed belt The timing belt often breaks after 70-80 thousand km. This causes the valves to bend. Therefore, experts advise constantly checking the condition of the belt and replacing it, as well as installing new rollers. The situation is similar with the generator drive belt, which requires replacement after 50-60 thousand km.

Often fails cylinder head gasket, starts to flow. Absolute pressure and position sensors throttle valve in the injection system often also stop working.

Cooling system

There are also often complaints about the cooling system. The radiator is characterized by its unreliability. Antifreeze leak - common problem. Also many owners vehicle Replace the thermostat and the sensor responsible for the operation of the cooling system fan.

Gearbox

Certainly, weaknesses were also found at the checkpoint. The factory clutch disc is characterized by its short service life. Often it is only enough for 50 thousand km. And if the car is constantly stuck in traffic jams, then a breakdown may occur even earlier. After 80-100 thousand km, the box begins to hum strongly. The problem can be corrected by changing the oil. And another common problem is the operation of the gearbox rocker, which can become misadjusted for no reason.

It would seem, what problems might arise in the cabin? However, Chevrolet Lanos distinguished itself in everything. Many owners noted such a defect in the factory assembly - such as poor-quality mounting of the rear view mirror. For many, it simply fell off a month and a half after purchase. There are complaints and tightness. In some cars, the rear window is poorly glued, which is why water gets inside the cabin. Problems also arise such as the airflow switch breaking, the clock falling out of the center console, and the rear seats creaking. Owners, as a rule, solve such minor defects on their own using improvised means. However, taken together, all the breakdowns do not leave the best impression of the car.

The main disadvantages of the Chevrolet Lanosa

  1. High fuel consumption
  2. Low noise insulation
  3. Small interior and trunk
  4. Low quality paintwork materials
  5. Low corrosion resistance
  6. Low ground clearance
  7. Bad dynamics.

Conclusion.

Thus, when buying a Chevrolet Lanos car and trying to save money, owners constantly spend money on repairs. The machine requires the closest attention and care, and regular replacement of spare parts. To reduce the risk of breakdown at the most inopportune moment, it is recommended to carry out regular maintenance and diagnostics. At the same time, it is unknown which system or part of the car will need to be “treated” again. And this is due to the fact that vulnerabilities Chevrolet Lanos has a lot.

P.S: Car owners, if you noticed frequent malfunctions this or that detail of Lanos, then report it in the comments below.

I want to say a little in defense of Lanos. I don’t even have a Lanos, but a Chance 1.5, 2009. The first thing I changed was the shock absorbers all around at 75,000 km, 2 out of 4 leaked. After 3,000 km I changed the wheel bearings, the right one began to jam. THE TIMING WAS CHANGED AT 112,000 KM. Oh, and I also changed the radiator at 82,000 km. These are all major replacements. The worst thing is the body. The front wings rotted to holes within 6 years. Sound insulation is good for its class. The engine and gearbox are at a good level, I change the oil in the engine every 10,000 km, I haven’t changed the gearbox yet (it doesn’t make noise and shifts well), but I forgot, I changed the clutch at 109,000 km. Changing oil with filters costs an average of 2200-2500 rubles. In general, if not the body of the car, the rest is very good. Ey, something like this. Thank you.

How? It’s easier, according to your description, to scrap the car right away on the day of purchase, just throw it in a shredder and digest it... I drive a 2005 Chevrolet, mileage is 82 t.km. None of the above listed problems other than sound insulation have been noticed so far. Even seasoned car owners envy the paintwork, the suspension is super, during the entire time of use it never rattled the engine protection, although at the dacha there is a terrible gap in the form of holes. Is the mirror falling off? Nonsense! Rear window? The Korean one with the seal, apparently Korean, never leaked. Sensors also don’t combine brains. What else? Wiring Ukraine "Dneprodzerzhinsk". It causes dissatisfaction and doubts, all the harnesses are wrapped with electrical tape from the factory, somehow the Ukrainians were not careful with the wiring, but everything is OK. In terms of spare parts, the gearbox is perfect, the clutch is super, the brakes? Changed due to the wear of discs and drums in the circle Brembo Italy (discs, pads, drums) Brake fluid Brembo DOT 5.1, engine oil Motul 2100 15W50, Motul W80 gearbox, Totachi Long Life collant carboxylate antifreeze Japan, Bosch timing and alternator belts. There is no power steering, and it’s comfortable anyway, the rack shows no signs of illness - everything is zergood. Ball joints, CV joints, springs, shock absorber cartridges, support bearings, wheel bearings, radiator, silent blocks - all native Polish-Korean. Gaskets and looked at the condition under the valve cover and changed the gasket so that nothing would happen (I accidentally put the gasket in crumbs of dust in the garage). There are no problems with either the glove compartment or the trunk that doesn’t close well, and the gas tank flap doesn’t suffer in the winter either (I pry it off with a plastic pry bar to dismantle the interior elements of the cabin - it’s harmless to the paintwork). Light in block headlights, rear lenses led light bulbs— the light of each section is super, especially pleasant in the turn signals, on the sides there are diodes in the repeaters, in front there are ordinary Hella bulbs +50 Hella dimensions and lensed LEDs in the turn signal repeaters. NGK spark plugs and all consumables in general famous brands, oils and other liquids, lamps, filters, belts, pads, and Exide premium 61 A/H battery because The car was inherited and the battery sat for a long time, the old battery was dropped off at “0” 7 times and after driving I dumped it on the scales at acceptance for 780 rubles. The car is a fairy tale. If I change something seriously, it will be based on quality and durability, just so that it remains maintenance-free for a long time comfort. It remains as it is now. And not because everything fell apart because... or I don’t like it. I completely forgot the brushes, the factory kids threw them out while the machine was down, managed to damage them, and stuck Hella 19″. I think if there is something in the second car, the Kalina station wagon, it is not comparable to the Lanos. Frankly, the clutch is designed for the Hulk rather than in the Lanos, the accelerator is electronic and empty of pressure than the throttle cable in the Lanos, the shock absorbers at speed in the viburnum are ready to shake all your bones and turn your guts out when in the Lanos you are just floating along the road))). Only the sound insulation is lame in Lanos, which I mentioned above. But, I think I’ll solve the only problem with manual noise insulation))) And the site’s errors: 1st Lanos drives at a maximum of 167 km/h, lanos sport was produced for a short time in Korea with an automatic transmission, yes, yes - a 3-door automatic with a 1.5 engine, goes 161 km/h and 2nd Lanos was created in 1998 with Daewoo models Lanos, created for Daewoo replacements Nexia was then Chevrolet T100, Chevrolet Lanos Saloon, Chevrolet Kalos, Chevrolet kalos saloon, Chevrolet lanos sport Korea automatic, ZAZ Chance"sens." The Sport, like the Sens, was a hatchback. In general, a well-maintained car, of which I met like mine, only 3 out of 300 seen are worth the money, I like the car for its simplicity and comfort, although it’s just from the SX configuration - the driver’s airbag and the presentable steering wheel are getting tired of me))) Brushes on the hood It doesn’t scrape and even the original Daewoo Korea muffler can hasn’t rotted.

  3. Don't judge strictly

4 years (100t.km) and normal flight)) ugh ugh ugh... The most interesting thing is that in the first year I drove 50t.km. Regarding paintwork, yes, it’s not very good, no doubt about it! BUT! The car is over 10 years old, but it’s original, and if it weren’t for my personal mistakes (and my wife’s, respectively:)), it would have been much better. Salt, xuyol and other reagents add to everything else. Suspension good! Yes, it’s not a Mercedes, but it’s justified by the rare replacement and the cheap price tag! In short, I’ll go straight to the bad stuff: the headlights, the heater, the consumption for 1.5l 10l in the city is somehow not good. That's it for me. And all this can also be treated inexpensively, so suck this car with a market price of 20 thousand rubles. (it was for this price that I bought two cars, and one in full minced meat) and a maximum of 150t.r. not taking into account the bargaining, but there won’t be a mosquito on your nose, everything is better than our auto industry (yes, the young wankers who love basins ask me) I have everything. Thank you for your attention.
